Change Is Difficult

Jack watches as Lexy gets changed, her hips swaying slightly as she pulls her boyfriends favourite shirt over her head, even though they got rid of all her guy clothes, she steals Jack's more than often.
But Jack doesn't mind.
She looks cute in his clothes.
He's always loved it when other eople wear his clothes... Especially Alex.
No Jack, he tells himself.
Alex isn't here anymore.
Lexy.
You love Lexy.
...
Change can be difficult sometimes.
Especially when things change very suddenly and very drastically, it might take a while to catch up with you.
That's what happened.
Everything is catching up with Jack.
It's hit him like a tonne of bricks.
Change is difficult.

'Jack, are you okay?' Lexy asks quietly as she sits down on their shared bed, a hand going to rest on Jack's thigh carefully,
'Yeah babe.' Jack says quickly, smiling at his lover,
'Talk to me...' Lexy coos, stroking her boyfriends leg lightly,
'I'm fine Alexander!' Jack snaps and the elders face falls, Jack never snaps, and he called her Alexander... Somethings wrong.
'Jack...' The elder whimpers but Jack just throws an (accidental) dirty look in her directiong, 'O-Okay.' she stutters before getting up and rushing off,
'For fuck sake.' Jack groans, throwing himself back against the bed, 'Lexy, come back!' he whines but instead of an answer, he hears the front door slam loudly, 'Fuck!' He shouts, running his hands through his hair.

Jack hasn't called Lexy Alex since the day he found out about Lexy's secret, let alone Alexander...
So, yeah, naturally Lexy was upset about it.
Jack fucked up.
But change is difficult.

To: Jack
I'm upset right now. I'll be back later.

Lexy sighs to herself as she walks down the street, she loves Jack, she really does, but he just doesn't think sometimes.
-
Jack stares at the wall in front of him. How could he be so selfish? He loves Lexy. How could he do that to her?

Although, this hasn't exactly been easy on the young man. He loves his girlfriend, he really does. But it's been difficult. He's been struggling silently.
He lost his boyfriend before his very eyes.
The man he fell in love with the first day they met.
Of course, he wouldn't trade Lexy for the world. He loves her for her.
But sometimes he misses Alex.
A lot.
He misses being able to have someone to hold, of course, he can hold Lexy, but it's different. With Alex, he knew that the elder was going to hold him just as tightly.
He misses the masculine side of his love.
But honestly, he wouldn't get rid of Lexy for anything.
But change is difficult.

(three hours later)

'Jack?' Lexy calls as she walks through the front door, Jack jumps off the sofa and runs to her,
'Baby, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry.' Jack cries,
'Stop. Look, let's talk.' Lexy sighs, walking past Jack and into the lounge.

-

Jack wasn't expecting this.
Not at all.
Fuck.
It was only one little mistake.
This can't be happening.
Oh god, change is difficult.

'Jack... I think we should take a break.' Lexy sighs,
'What?' Jack gasps,
'we both need time. We haven't given each other enough time.' Lexy whispers,
'You want to break up?' Jack croaks,
'Not permanantly. We just need time. Time for me to finish my therapy and stuff, let me get myself sorted.' The short haired girl explains,
'Okay. Fine. I'll go then.' jack mutters,
'No! You don't have to leave Jack! You can still stay here!' She laughs,
'I think it'll be better for both of us if I do, well better for me at least. Just, um, text me if you need anything, yano, money, errands, whatever, and uh, let me know when you're ready.' Jack whispers before getting up and rushing off.
Yeah, change is difficult.
