Ineffable Plan

Twenty-Six

The next morning, I woke up determined to decipher the contents of that book. As I lay in bed with Aaron’s arms wrapped tightly around me. I looked down at my arm. The markings were gone. I bought my hand up to my neck and felt the necklace. Aaron had removed the small trinket from over the charm. I looked over at his face and smiled. He looked so peaceful and serene in his sleep. I brushed the tips of my fingers gently across his cheeks. A small smile graced his perfect face.

I love you. I thought before I tried to wriggle out of his arms.

“I love you, too,” Aaron mumbled, pulling me closer to him and nuzzling his face into the back of my neck.

“I thought you were asleep.” He loosened his hold on me so that I could turn around to face him.

“I was. You really do think too loudly.” Aaron smiled as he ran his fingers along my forehead, brushing away the hair.

I groaned, pulled myself closer to him and buried my face into his chest. “Stay out of my head.”

I felt his chest rise and fall unevenly as he laughed. “Ok. I will. I promise. So you’re going to figure out that book today, huh?” He was still lightly stroking my face. I scrunched my nose up at him. “It was from before I promised to ‘stay out of your head.’ You thought that before.”

I just nodded. Things were silent for a while until a thought popped into my head. Aaron’s face hadn’t changed. Maybe he was planning to stay out of my head after all. I quickly disentangled myself from him before he had a chance to react and sprung to the bathroom.

“Where are you going?" He asked before I closed the bathroom door behind me. I spun around to answer him but smacked into his bare chest. He steadied me before I could fall and wrapped his arms around my waist.

“You’re very quick,” I mumbled against his chest before taking a step back.

“Where are you going?” He repeated.

“You don’t know?” I asked incredulously.

“Did you not ask me to ‘stay out of your head’?” He imitated my voice.

“I didn’t think that you could do that.” I scrunched my eyebrows together. “I thought that you couldn’t tune me out. If you could, why didn’t your brothers just do that instead of clearing my mind?”

“Sometimes you shout,” Aaron answered simply. I looked at him in confusion so he continued. “When you’re thinking very hard and when things are too chaotic, which is pretty often with you, it’s a lot harder to ignore your thoughts.” Aaron looked down at me thoughtfully for a moment. “Where are you going?”

“To shower.”

Aaron sighed exasperatedly and then stared intensely at me. After a moment he smiled.

“What?” I asked.

“School?” He said laughing. “You’re going to school? After everything that’s happened and everything you’ve found out, you’re going to school? You’re worrying about missing a few classes? You just found out that you were adopted, that you belong to another world, and that I’m a vampire. Do you really want to go to school?”

“First off: I’m not going to school. We’re going to school,” I said as I pointed to the two of us. “Secondly: None of that matters. So what if I’m adopted? So what if I ‘belong to another world’? So what if you’re a vampire? It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t change anything. I still have to go to class because I still live in this world because that is what normal people in this world do. And if I have to go to class, so do you.” I quickly leaned up to kiss him before hopping into the bathroom and shutting the door.

A half an hour later, I skipped out of the bathroom with my towel wrapped around me. Aaron was lying on the bed with his arms covering his eyes and his legs dangling off the bed. As I walked passed him, I lightly kicked his legs.

“Go shower. We don’t want to be late for class. Studio Art is my favorite.”

Aaron groaned and raised his foot to kick me back but I moved away just in time.

“Well that wasn’t very nice.” I walked over to the dresser and started looking for something to wear. I heard the bed creaking and assumed Aaron was on his way to get ready. I was wrong. I felt Aaron's strong arms wrap around my waist. I turned around to face him.

“What are you-“ I was cut off by Aaron’s lips crashing onto mine.

He pushed me back gently and I felt my back hit the dresser. Aaron’s hands were still tightly clutching my waist and he pressed himself closer to me. His sudden intense passion caught me off guard. Of course, Aaron took advantage of this and slipped his tongue between my lips (not that I minded). One of his hands slipped from my waist and down my side, resting at the bare skin of my thigh, right below where the towel ended. His thumbs made soothing circles against my skin causing the spot he was touching to heat up. Slowly Aaron’s hand made its way up my leg and under the towel. It curved around my thigh and rested on the spot on the back of my leg right below my butt. A wave of pleasure-induced warmth spread through my body.

Aaron gradually slowed the movement of his lips and pulled his mouth away from mine and to my jaw. He kissed his way down to my neck and sucked on the spot just below my ear, his tongue lightly tracing over it. My fingers were tangled in his hair now and I pulled him closer as his lips on my neck caused a delicious heat to fill my stomach. My eyes fluttered open as I felt Aaron’s teeth gently nip at my ear.

“Do you mind?” He whispered huskily in my ear.

“What?’ I managed to stutter out.

He grazed his teeth against the skin on my throat, stopping at the largest vein. “I’m thirsty,” he clarified. Aaron moved the hand that was on my waist to my neck. Gently he lifted and turned my head to the side, exposing more of my neck. No doubt, the light blue vein was pulsing under my pale skin. My heart was pounding more out of excitement and lust than fear and I thought it must have made it that much harder for him to control himself.

“You’re right,” Aaron’s voice was low. I felt his nose skin along my throat as he inhaled. “You’re heart beating like that doesn’t help much. It’s only making restraint harder.” He stepped closer so that I was now pleasantly squished between the dresser and his fiery skin. How could a vampire be so warm?

“Please?” He begged his voice breaking.

I nodded infinitesimally. His hand was still holding onto my face, making the movement nearly impossible.

“Thank you,” he breathed.

Almost instantly, I felt the sharp piercing of his teeth. The pain was gone as soon as it came and replaced my immeasurable pleasure. I smiled lazily at the feeling. I was barely aware of the gently pulling where he had bit me. It was the only thing that reminded me of what was really happening. Aaron’s hand on my thigh shifted slightly and the movement brought my attention to the heat Aaron’s body seemed to be releasing. His body was quickly heating up against me. Despite the loss of blood, I felt my body heating up as well. Soon enough I could feel the sweat from both myself and Aaron saturate the towel that separated us.

It wasn’t until I felt Aaron’s fire hot hand sweep across my stomach that I realized that he was deftly de-toweling me. Before I knew it, my towel fell to my feet and Aaron’s hands were everywhere. My eyes fluttered open in surprise and I was taken aback by the effort it had taken to do so. The small black spots that blurred my visions snapped me back to reality and alerted me of the situation I was in. I tried to push Aaron back, but I could barely move my hands. Not only was I fighting the sudden tiredness that coursed through me, but the urge to let it continue. It all felt so good. So what if I was losing blood? So what if I passed out and never woke up? Surely the pleasure and warmth I was feeling was worth it. Even the gently pulling was nice. It was soothing. But the survival instinct won.

“Aaron,” I said groggily. The words gurgled in my throat. “Stop.”

Immediately he pulled away like my voice had snapped him out of a trance. I was being held up by his body and with it gone I almost collapsed onto the floor. Aaron caught me before I did though.

“I’m so sorry,” Aaron mumbled as he carried me to the bed. He was muttering to himself mostly. “Are you okay?”

I tried to look past the expanding black dots to his face. He was bright red, all of him, like he was blushing. His cheeks, his chest, his arms, all were flushed. He was also sweating like he just ran a hundred miles in a minute. I tried to answer him but I couldn’t manage it.

As the darkness spread and blinded me completely, I heard Aaron’s frantic voice. He was calling Manny and Julian. The last thing I heard was heavy footsteps rushing down the halls and towards the bedroom.
