Underdog

One month later

The past month had been uneventful I didn't really hang out with the guys if I didn't need to and I never spoke unless spoken to, Joshua and I didn't speak to each other unless forced which just so happened to be in fertile class because we sadly enough got paired up.

I was about to start walking to school but of course my mother stopped me, I turn around to face her
"Yes?" I ask raising my eyebrow hoping I'm not going to be late though I don't really care
"You're going to start riding to and from school with the boys" she tells me causing me to laugh
"And why would I do that mother? we don't like each other, it'd just be a big fight"
"Because he is a nice boy and it would make me feel better knowing you're safe with the boys, you never know what is lurking in the shadows especially for you, please Nic for my own peace of mind"
I stare at her for a bit then look over at the boys as they walk into the foyer laughing about something before groaning and nodding my head at her "Thank you Nic! Boys would it be okay if Nicolai started riding with you guys?" she asks looking at Joshua and I try to keep from laughing knowing that he would never let me in his car seeing as he hates me but much to my surprise he smiles and says
"Of course Mrs. Sola" making me and all the other guys jaws drop and eyes widen. My mother leaves the room shortly and Josh pushes past me open the front door, I look at the guys in confusion
"Is he sick?" I question and they shake their heads before following him outside where he's complaining about not wanting to be late. I sit in the very back on my own and am the first one to get out, walking straight into the school with a short 'Thank you' thrown over my shoulder.

School sucked! everyday it was the same crap, everybody staring and trying to belittle me, even humans thought they were better and it was pissing me off. I was sitting alone under a tree reading a book at lunch just minding my own business when a figure approached I looked up to see a human boy standing there with an annoying smirk making causing me raise an eyebrow at him "May I help you?"
"Yeah actually you can, I was wondering how much you charged" he asked confusing me
"What are you talking about?" his smirk grows wider when he realizes he's stumped me
"You know for sex, seeing as how we all know that you must sell your body so you can pretend that someone would ever love you" he says and laughs along with his friends standing a bit away, I can feel my anger growing inside the more he laughs when finally I snap, my eyes turn black and with a loud growls I leap at him making us both fall to the ground as my claw start to shred him while he screams in pain unable to throw me off of him finally I snap his neck and feel myself return to normal again, standing up I walk out of the school calmly making it only to the corner of the street before passing out.

Josh's P.O.V.

We're sitting at lunch talking about our classes when a loud growl and screaming cuts through the air causing us all to look towards the source of the sound seeing Nicolai tearing a human to shreds before breaking his neck and walking off. The guys and I all look at each other before getting up and racing to follow her we see her walking down the road and try calling her name but she doesn't pay attention we're almost to her when she just drops to the ground making us all run faster. When we get to her she is out cold so I picked her up and we headed to the car in silence I throw the keys to Chris as I get in the back with Nicolai laying her across the seat her head in my lap as I run my fingers through her hair "She destroyed that kid" I say "She also hasn't had her shake in two days, do you guys think that's why she passed out?" I look up at them as they all look at her with concern
"I'd it's safe assume so" Chris replies glancing at me in the rear view mirror
"Do you think she's going to be okay?"
"I bet she'll be fine Balz" Angelo says "Do you think she's you mate?"
"We all know that you get paired with your mate in fertile class so either she's my mate or neither of us have one yet" I sigh looking down at her, she looks so calm and relaxed not wearing the scowl she usually has on her face. We pull up to the house and all rush into the house calling for her mom
"What's going on bo-" she gasps coming into the foyer "What happened?"
"She killed a human then left the school we followed after her but she only made it to the corner when she just dropped" Ryan says as we walk up the stairs and towards her room
"Do you know why she killed the human?" she asks making down Nicolais bed so I can lay her down
"No idea, she probably got tired of all the shit they give her" I take her boots off of her and head to her closet to find some pajamas so she isn't uncomfortable "Will she be okay?"
"I don't know, she's never used that much power but she's a strong girl she'll most likely wake up at some point in the next week" she kisses Nicolais head "Balz you don't have to change her I can do it"
"Guys can you please leave so I can talk to Mrs. Sola?" They nod and head out of the room
"You're her mate, aren't you?" Valeriya asks looking at him with a hopeful smile
"I think so" I tell her "Though I'm not sure how that will work out since all we do is fight but I can tell you that I care for your daughter very much and I'd like to take care of her" I blush
"I knew it" she smiles "There is a thin line between love and hate you two just love each other so much it teeters toward hate a bit more, I'll leave you two alone" she laughs walking out of the room.
