I'm Not Okay

"What the hell?" He yelled and pulled on some sweat pants, "You're barely thirty-one weeks along" he pointed out and pulled on a shirt.

"Peanut came early plus there is less room in there for them so maybe it's just there time?"

"But we're not ready! We don't have their car seats or a car to fit all the seats in or an overnight bag for you." He said as he pulled out my own pair of sweat pants and helped me in them.

"Well tell that to them and not me."

"What do you wanna do babe?" He asked as he pulled me close to him.

"Call Dr. Shannon." I said as I crawled back into bed in the fetal position.

"Okay babe." He said then pulled out his phone and walked out of the room. While he was gone I started to rub my tummy in hopes of soothing the girls who were kicking very hard, it wasn't working, but thankfully Gerard came back in a few minutes.

"She said she'd come by to take a look at you and she wants you to take it easy." He said as he came near me and rubbed my hand.

"Baby I'm scared." I whimpered, and moved closer to him. He instantly put his arm around me and pulled me closer.

"Why baby?"

"Because it's way too early for them to come out and we're not ready." I said.

"Baby it will be okay, Bryce came early and he is just fine, and so what if we're not ready at the moment, we can buy a car and car seats in a few hours or send Mikey out to buy them for us, you need to stop stressing out." He said then stroked my face.

I nodded and leaned into his touch but as I did so the baby monitor went off and Bruce started crying at a very high pitch, I could tell from his cry that he had a nightmare. I wanted so badly just to get up and comfort him.

"Babe, Bryce." I said when Gerard didn't move.

"He's fine; you need to worry about yourself for now." He said then tried striking my face again, although this time I didn't let him.

"We can't ignore our son just because we're having two more babies." I scolded.

"Fine." He said then got up and left, in a matter of seconds he was back with Bruce who was clinging onto him with tears running down his face, when Bryce saw me he reached out for me. I pulled him as close as I could to me without pulling him on my lap, he tried to move into my lap but I stopped him and hugged him. As I hugged him I got another contraction and kinda squeezed Bryce to hard and he started to cry again, this time Gerard took him and bounced him around until he stopped crying and snuggled into his neck. A few seconds later he pulled out his phone and pressed it to his ear.

"Who are you calling?" I asked through my teeth.

"Mikey, someone needs to watch peanut when you start pushing." He said then turned and started taking to Mikey, "alright he's on his way back over." He said then hung up.

"There is no way I'm pushing." I said. "I want them cut out."

Gerard started laughing the leaned down to press a kiss to my forehead, "I love you baby."

For a while Gerard balanced peanut on one hip and with his opposite hand he was letting me squeeze the crap out of his every time I had a contraction. Soon we heard the front door open and footsteps up the stairs and saw Mikey and Dr. Shannon emerge into our room.

"Thank god." I mumbled when I saw Dr. Shannon.

"Hello Frank, I hope you have had a merry Christmas, now Gerard says you think you're in labor, let's take a look." She said then started to move away the sheets, but she didn't start looking until Mikey had taken the now sleeping Bryce from Gerard and gone back into his room.

"Thanks for coming doc, and I hope you had a great Christmas as well, sorry about having to take you away from your family and everything." I apologized.

"It's all good Frank, grandkids and kids left a few hours ago and my husband is passed out on the sofa from too much egg nog." She said and all three of us laughed. "Okay so, ready for some news?" She asked then put the sheet back over my body.

Gerard and I both nodded.

"You're not in labor; this is just a pre labor thing you and every other pregnant person goes through. It's your body preparing itself for childbirth, nothing to worry about, a completely natural thing."

"Then how come he never went through that kinda thing with Bryce?" Gerard asked.

"Well for all we know he could have, Frank didn't know he was in labor until his mother told him, he could have had that sensation before when he was on bed rest. But both of you need to relax, these babies aren't coming today, but they will soon, give or take anywhere from one to six weeks." She said then smiled and rubbed my belly a bit, "Don't worry, the pains will go away soon, but the next time I see all of you will be in the delivery room. Have a merry Christmas and happy new year."
