Hardest Part of This Is Leaving You

Dischanted

Frank was on the back wall of the hospital room. Not normal for him to be quiet. He pulled up his sleeve to look at the scar from two years ago to that day. Then without anyone knowing he slipped out of the room and made his way to the car. On his way to the car, he spotted something from the corner of his eye. Frank stopped and turned around. To see someone walking to the elevator.

“Rebecca!” He said in excitement as he ran to her. She turned around and he stopped.

“Who?” She asked, looking at the guy she thought was crazy.

“Oh, sorry. I thought you were someone else.” He said as his heart dropped to the floor.

“Its okay.” She smiled as walked into the elevator. Frank cured himself out a bit and made his way back to his car, turning on the ignition and driving to the cemetery. He made his way to a single grave stone which read:

Rebecca Way:
A loving yet annoying at times sister,
Friend, and Fiancé. You will be missed by many.
Oh a thousand words
One thousand embraces
Will cradle you
Making all of your weary days seem far away
They'll hold you forever

Frank kneeled against the snow covered ground and laid a lily across the sheet of white. Then he put his hands to his face and began to cry.

“Why was it you? Why not him? Why couldn’t he die for what he did.” Just then the snow began to fall lightly on the ground, slowly covering the lily.
