Chapter 28
Christmas what a wonderful time of year it is. Our house is decorated, trees up in the living room and foyer. Lights up inside and outside the house. Presents wrapped under the tree, stockings hanging. To say i've gone all out for this Christmas would be an understatement. Considering we didn't really have one last year and this year we have Ayla-Mai with us, i wanted it to be special. Ashton and i did a big shop at Toys r us, buying her all sorts of toys and clothes and really unnecessary things, but we couldn't help ourselves and now they are all waiting under the tree for her.
"can we please go to the living room" i ask Ashton for the millionth time.
"babe, it is literally 4:30am let her sleep as long as possible"
"but it's Christmas"
"i know it is, and we will have a lot more Christmas' where she will be in here at 4:30am waking us up, for now lets just enjoy sleep"
"fine, fine, fine we will wait for her to wake up" i huffed
i waited for a while before i decided i had had enough. i slung my legs over the side of the bed and was about to get up when i felt hands round my waist
"and where do you think you're going"
"ummm to the bathroom"
"nice try Li, get back into bed"
"how do you not know that i might be dying to pee right now" i said
"because i know, now get those legs back under"
"fine"
i got back in and he kept his arms wrapped around me. time moved slowly, i drifted in and out of sleep until i finally heard what i had been waiting for at 6:45am the cries of Ayla-Mai filled the house.
"she awake" i shouted
Ashton chuckled as he rubbed his eyes.
"lets get going then"
i jumped up grabbed his hand as he met me by the door and we went into her room
"Merry Christmas princess" i said as i picked her up. Ashton kissed her head and we went into the living room. When i said presents everywhere, i mean it. under the tree was filled with gifts and a big box next to it. I tuned the christmas tree lights on and sat down in front of the tree with Ayla and waited for Ashton to join, he went into the kitchen to get coffee
"say come on daddy" i said to Ay. she just giggled and clapped her hands.
"yes Ayla, chop chop daddy" i clapped my hands too
"i'm here, i'm here" he said placing 2 cups on the table before sitting next to us.
We sat down and started opening, firstly we would hand the gift to Ay and she would play with it before Ashton or I actually ripping of the wrapping, it took us a while to get through all of her gifts. the big box was a walker, which will help strengthen her little legs and move along the process of her walking. other things included cute little dresses and shoes, outfits, a cute fluffy coat, toys of all sorts for the bath, for traveling, soft toys, hard toys, dolls. i really wanted to buy her a silver cross pram but Ashton said not this year, i want to get her one because i got one when i was little and my dad still has it in the house. I have a lot of fond memories with my mum taking it out on walks with my baby dolls in it, i want that with Ayla.
"Heres one for daddy" i said picking up a present.
"for me" Ashton said taking it
"well i dont see any other dads around here do you" i lauhged
he opened it up, i had gotten him a new watch
"babe, you didnt have to" he said
"i know, but your one is getting a bit old looking so i thought i would get you a new one"
"thank you" he leaned over Ayla and kissed me.
"you're welcome"
"Mummy has a present too"
he handed me a little box, i opened it up and a couple little charms were in there, a pink flower, little booties charm and a star
"thank you baby" i said
"they are for the bracelet i got you last year"
"i know, thank you" i kissed him again.
"so who wants breakfast" i said getting up
As i was making breakfast i looked through and saw Ashton and Ayla surrounded by wrapping and toys. i snapped a picture

after we ate breakfast we got changed, i put Ayla in a cute red dress and Ashton and I dressed nicely to head to Anne's where my dad and Maui will also be for lunch.
When we arrived we greeted Anne, Harry and Lauren by handing them their presents. We got Anne a nice perfume, Harry a new soccer ball and i got Lauren some make up she had been wanting. Ashton was not happen about me getting her make up saying she isn't old enough and shes his little sister but as you can see i won the argument.
"so we are going to wait for Jay and Maui to get here before we give you your present but we can give aylas hers" Anne said
we sat down in the living room and Anne pulled forward a big box.. please dont be a walker, please dont be a walker.
"Hey Ash open it" i said pointing to Ayla currently attached to me.
he opened it up and it was a play mat
"this is sweet, thanks mum she will love it" Ash said hugging Anne
"yeah thank you, shes going to spend hours lying on that
"Lauren picked it out" she said
"well thank you Lauren"
"it's alright"
My dad and Maui arrived shortly after, once everyone was greeted we moved to the dinning room and sat chatting
"so shall we give it to them now, or after dinner" Maui asked
"give who what" i questioned
"give you and Ash your present"
They decided it would better for after Lunch. Anne and Maui got up to go get the food, which Anne had made last night and was just being heated this morning ready.
we ate and chatted, Ayla was being a Daddies girl and sitting happily on his lap the whole time, every so often harry would make her laugh by doing funny faces. It was so nice having all the family together making Ayla's first Christmas so special, all that was missing was the boys, but obviously they were spending the day with their families.
"so are you ready for your present" dad asked
"yes"we both replied at the same time.
Anne took Ayla and she was bouncing her on her lap.
dad handed me an envelope
i opened it up with Ashton looking over my shoulder
i read the top bit of paper "Qantas"
"Qanta" i questioned
"read more Olivia" Dad said
i kept reading, they were plane tickets to Paris
"What the heck guys" i said
"we thought it would be nice for you to join Ashton in Paris for Valentines day" Anne said
"i'm going to Paris" i question
"Yes Olivia" Maui said
"what about Ayla-Mai"
"we will look after her, dont worry"
"oh my god babe, i'm going to Paris" i said to Ashton
"i cant wait to show you around" he said
"how long am i gone for"
"A week, you fly into Paris, then go with the boy till London, then fly home"
"does everyone know" i asked
"everyone knew a part from you and Ashton"
"Thank you so much guys"
i can't believe i'm going to Paris. Ashton and i went round hugging everyone as a thank you. We then went and took Christmas pictures and watched Ayla on her new play mat before packing up and heading back to our house and falling fast a sleep. Ayla-Mai's first Christmas was a success.
