“You didn’t need to come,” I looked at her with sad eyes, we were already so far apart.

“I wanted to be here,” I told her taking her hand as the doctor walked in.

“You must be the father,”

I nodded not bothering to introduce myself.

“How are you feeling?”

“Better, haven’t had any more morning sickness, but my feet are swollen and I have back aches.”

“The beauty of pregnancy.” The doctor uncovered Myla’s stomach and put some kind of jelly.

“It looks like you’re at 20 weeks, almost halfway there.”

I stared at the small screen, my heart beat increasing, that was my baby in there.

“There’s the head- oh”

“Is there something wrong?” I asked

The doctor looked at me with a smile, “you see there’s the head, and there’s another one. You two are expecting twins.”

We stayed silent, we weren’t losing one baby we were losing two.

“Would you like to know the sex of the babies?”

I nodded.

“Twin girls”
