“Miss Franklin? Mister Wentz?”

I looked at the doorway wiping my eyes.

“I’m from the agency, the paperwork has been taken care by Myla’s parents.”

This was it, my heart was being ripped out.

“Please make sure they have great parents, and a great life.” I pleaded.

She nodded without saying anything.

“And maybe when they’re old enough they can give them this letter so they’ll know how much we loved them”

“I’ll make sure to mention it,” she said with a small smile and took the envelope, “Winona and Mika?”

“So they’ll know we cared enough to give them names.” It was Myla who responded.

“I know it’s hard but it’s for the best.”

We both nodded unable to stop the tears.

Two nurses came in and wheeled them both out and now they were gone forever.

“That was the best thing we could have done for them.”

“I know.”

“They’ll know how much we loved them Pete.”
