Four

I loved the way she looked at me, like I was the only one that understood her. The only one she had eyes for.

“Pete,” she murmured causing the hairs on the back of my neck to rise.

“Yeah?”

“We are meant for each other, who cares about all the other shit.”

“I know”

“I mean it Pete. I know what goes through that head of yours. That we are opposites and that we are too different but who cares because as long as we have each other nothing else matters.”

I could only kiss her, she knew me too well. But even as I kissed her in the snowy streets of Chicago I couldn’t help but to wish she was right.

Who was I kidding? I knew she was wrong, she knew it too. It wouldn’t be long before it all came crumbling down. Here I was just a teenager not knowing what I was going to do with my life, was I even going to make it out alive?

And there she was, a teenager with her whole future planned out. Had always been an overachiever, she was a perfectionist and yet there she was with the most imperfect boy in Chicago.
