After Morgana's betrayal of Uther, the king has fallen into a state of shock. He refuses to eat and hardly pays any attention to Arthur, spending most of his time up in his chambers doing nothing. But Arthur is taking every chance to cheer him up, and he plans to throw a party for his father's birthday. Entertainment is found, food is prepared, and guests begin to arrive.
However, the musicians hired to perform are led by a well known sorcerer, who Arthur does not arrest for witchcraft — as long as none is used within the boundaries of the kingdom. This proves to be challenging as Merlin encounters the sorcerer's daughter and gives her a hint of freedom from her father's strict rules.
