Construction of “The Jailhouse” Delayed due to Vandals
(September 3rd, 2006) Construction workers were unable to do their job today as vandals had badly damaged the partially built dome, as well as some of the expensive equipment. Construction worker, Claude Newman, wasn’t pleased.
“Ain’t nothing nobody can do gonna stop this dome from being built. Ain’t no sense trying to damage all our stuff. Over there is a new bulldozer…totally ruined! What kinda monster would do that to a fine piece of machinery. Them types of people need to be sent to Rikers, honestly speaking.”
Despite the fact that Claude was so hard to understand, it was apparent that he was frustrated. The damage done by these vandals was substancial. There is no time table on when construction will resume on “The Jailhouse.” Claude had his crew trying to clean up the mess as we left the scene.
