To Caress My Day

Chapter 222: Ta- Da!

Before their day came to an end, Twigs and Seth tried kayaking together and it only ended up in a competition much like paddle-boarding had. It was another race to get to the finish line that Twigs ultimately won, though Seth told her he allowed her to due to her being the Birthday Girl. That matter became a debate between them that never reached a resolution because soon afterwards they had a romantic dinner on the beach with the staff catering them with a surprise dinner menu of their choosing. Anything they wanted would be roasted, boiled, grilled or steamed into whatever they desired. The infatuated couple were intrigued and titillated to blurt out as many dishes that came to mind.

Twigs reveled in her dishes of choice, Seth observed, because she moaned with every bite she took. Her pleasure brought a smile to his face then again everything about her always did. Still, he couldn’t resist from checking in as he carved into his steak. “Are you enjoying your dinner, Birthday Girl?”

Giving him a sprightly nod, Twigs indicated to her spread with her fork while she finished chewing her food. “If all this food doesn’t spell it out, then I’ll be the one to announce that they know EXACTLY what they’re doing in that kitchen! My god, I could happily die from every bite!”

“I second that!” Seth conceded with a rise of his fork. “The food they’ve been serving us during our time here has always been remarkable, but THIS particular dinner for tonight is just divine.”

“Would you believe me if I told you I’m already planning for seconds?” Twigs told him, her tone serious. “That’s how good this is.”

“I’m WAY ahead of you there, love. I want three of everything!” Seth bested her with a cocky smile.

Scolding at him, Twigs rolled her eyes. “Seth, this isn’t a competition. You’ve already had your fun with that paddle-boarding nonsense and again with the kayaking!”

Seth shrugged those lighthearted moments of their day off, and motioned the subject to tomorrow and what she had in store for them. “So, what about tomorrow? Do you have anything planned out for us yet?”

That was a good question. Running through the checklist of the legions of activities they had yet to dip their toes in, Twigs gave herself time to mull it over. When she felt positive she made her decision, she asked him with an arched brow. “Tell me, have you ever snorkeled or sub-dived before?”

“No, can’t say that I have.” Seth declined with a shake of his head as he picked up his glass of champagne. “I preferred making cartoons when I was a kid rather than exploring outside.”

“Nature was all I had out in the country growing up.” Twigs replied, recalling the rolling green hills and farm animals. Leaning forward in her seat, she grinned at him and flashed him adorable puppy dog eyes. “Would you be willing to explore nature with me to snorkel and sub-dive?”

“Snorkeling, absolutely!” Seth easily accepted enough. The second one made him frown. “Sub-diving…I don’t know about that one. I’m not gonna lie, it sounds terrifying to me to be that deep underwater.”

“That’s exactly what I feel too! And also why I want to do it so much.” Twigs sided with him, not believing they’d both be feeling the same way about diving down feets into the deep dark ocean where oxygen was scarce for the air breathers. If something were to go wrong, that might mean their very lives. “And to be able to experience that with you is taking it up to notches it would have never reached alone without you involved.”

Seth sighed to himself, and lowered his eyes to his barren plate. He didn’t want to do it. Selfishly for himself he wanted to pass on this first time experience. But because the person asking him to participate was the greatest love he’s ever known, rejecting wasn’t that simple. In fact, it didn’t feel like it was even an option which left him with only one. Returning his gaze to his ‘wife’ that was patiently and eagerly awaiting his answer, Seth suddenly found himself ready to literally take that descent with her. Hell, if she asked him to jump out of a plane without a parachute right now he'd foolishly do it, and die a fool. But that’s how much he loved her, and evidently it was dangerous. “Alright, I’ll do it. But ONLY for you.”

“Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you so much, husband!” Twigs praised him, reaching out a hand to him. When he took it, she laid her other hand over the back of his, giving him a warmhearted squeeze for being so adventurous to traverse the depths of the ocean with her.

Then out of nowhere, music began to play from a small band of three men near the resort, and it was just in time because dinner was finalized. The volume was low at first and progressively elevated in order to not startle the couple that were so immersed with each other that they didn’t detect a damn thing around them whether it was staff delivery plates and refreshments or removing the depleted ones.

Laughing in rejoice, Twigs clapped a hand over her mouth when the small band began to make their way to their lone illuminated table on the beach encompassed with tiki torches. When they got halfway there and saw they had the couple’s undivided attention, three grins spread across their faces as they stopped the graceful melody sung in their native language to hail aloud. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAHLIAH!”

Bursting out in laughter again, Twigs merrily waved at them. Turning her head to Seth to make sure he hadn’t missed them, she caught him saluting them with his glass of champagne in a motion of thanks. Piecing it all together, she realized Seth had set this all up for her. Pointing a finger at him, she called him out on it. “Oh my god, this was all you? You did this?”

“Ta-da!” Seth admitted, lowering his flute to the table. Rising from his chair as the band picked their original song back up, he rounded the table to her side and extended a hand out to her, handsome in his button-up Hawaiian shirt and long khaki shorts. “Care to dance, wife?”

Cheeks flushed with heat due to an unusual rush of shyness dwindling her, Twigs chose to overlook it and placed her hand in his and allowed him to help her from her chair. “I’d love to.”

Drawing his ‘wife’ to him with one arm, Seth linked their other hand together and gazed down into her brown eyes. He smiled at the dreamy look in her eyes, proud that he could make her look like a woman falling in love for the first time in her life.

“I love you, Seth.” Twigs whispered up to him, not able to deter her eyes to anything else on the spectacular tropical island. All she saw was him.

“I’m sure it’s pretty obvious how I feel about you. You can see it as clear as day on my face, can’t you?” Seth asked her, knowing it was the truth. One couldn’t feel so immeasurably for someone and have it entirely remain contained within the human body. No, something this extreme had to find a crack to slither through, something no matter how tiny. He was convinced she could read him just as clearly as him conveying it aloud.

“I suppose I can. But that’s for me to know and for you to find out.” Twigs giggled, playing hard to get. Of course she could see it in his face though it wasn’t the only place she could see it. His smile, his eyes and even his body told her so. A lot of the time she could feel it too, rushing through his bloodstream and warming his skin, in his kisses, in his touch, and how his body responded to hers when they mated.

The couple slow-danced until the song came to a soft end. They only had managed to lean in for a kiss before the band broke out again with a celebratory shout. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAHLIAH!”

The lovebirds broke out into a laughing fit within the kiss at the disruption. Turning to the band backtracking to the resort, the couple called back at them at the same time. “THANK YOU!”

Twigs watched the band wave back at them before disappearing. With a sigh, she whispered. “Such amazing people. They genuinely want to make us happy and make sure we’re having a wonderful time.”

Placing his arm around her shoulder, Seth kissed the side of her head and rested his lips against her billowing curls. “They do. What do you want to do now, wife?”

Turning to face him, Twigs sensually smiled up at him. “I want you naked in the upstairs bedroom with the bed on the balcony pool.”

“Is this a plan to dominate me under the stairs all night long again?” Seth inquired with interest. At her mute nod, he swept her up into his arms and began to carry her to the resort. “I’m down.”

Twigs let out a squeal before giggling. “What about the staff in attendance still inside the resort?”

“They’ll get the hint once they see us run past them to the stairs.” Seth vowed. And it turned out he was right. As soon as they saw the giggling couple fly upstairs, the entire staff speedily wrapped up their tasks before evacuating the building to give them privacy the amorous couple always seemed to require.
