Chapter 273: Enjoy The View
Where was Seth supposed to begin?
How would anyone else in an intervention commence something like this?
Lowering his hands down to his lap, Seth gave himself a momentary pause to accumulate his thoughts, and words and then arrange them into a conversation that would hopefully come off to Twigs as him being a prying loved one, and not a brutal ambush. Slowly rubbing his sweaty palms together as his mind prepared to begin, Seth tentatively voiced. “I’ve noticed that…you’ve changed since I last saw you.”
“How exactly have I changed since you last saw me?” Twigs inquired, her brows furrowing together in confusion. Nothing at all came to her mind at what would have Seth thinking so. Shrugging her shoulder, she tightened her hold on her comforter which was the only covering keeping her bare breasts concealed. “As far as I’m concerned I’m still the same old Tahliah you’ve always known.”
“You haven’t changed at all in terms of personality, that’s true.” Seth clarified, making himself clear. Telling someone they’ve changed could cover so many grounds. He should’ve been more precise. Linking his eyes with Twigs made his chest tighten and his heart lurch, but he managed to contain his fickle emotions. “What I mean is…you’ve lost weight since I last saw you. That’s how you’ve changed and… it honestly has me worried about you.”
“Oh.” Twigs murmured, becoming tense. Her brown eyes fell to her lap next, wishing to hide anything he could interpret in her eyes from being decoded. God, why hadn’t she seen this coming?
Seth gave Twigs a moment to let the matter of discussion sink in so she could assemble her thoughts on it. When he felt a sufficient amount of time had passed between them, he initiated contact again. “What’s going on with you, Pixie? You can tell me.”
Oh god! Twigs couldn’t tell her boyfriend the truth of what’s been going on in her life…well, maybe half of the truth. The other half where she didn’t have the money to feed herself can remain off the table. Rubbing her fingers over a piece of the comforter on her lap, Twigs carefully told him her half-truth. “Well…as we both know my mother has…cancer, and it’s been…taking its toll on us both. If I can be frank, I don’t believe this terrible nightmare of mine will ever end, not until she’s had the operation and is back home in Tewkesbury alive and healthy.”
“I can understand that.” Seth recognized with a nod, his hands now clasped together. He of all people would understand considering his mother had perished from cancer years ago. This was how he’d been fighting within his own personal hell since it took a turn for the worse and he only reached the border of it sometime after his mother had succumbed to the disease. Twigs had yet to reach hers. But unlike him, she wasn’t in it alone, she had him, a survivor to pilot her through it. Leaning forward so his elbows were propped on the top of his thighs, Seth told her. “Trust me, my love, I understand what you’re going through. Nonetheless…you still need to eat, Tahliah.”
Twigs already knew that she needed to eat! It’s something she’s been doing all her life with zero issues up to this point! But now, it was the hardest burden she’s been shouldered to do daily. Something so essential to staying alive has become impossible to do. “Seth, I know that. Believe me when I tell you I’ve been trying to put food in my stomach but…god, it sounds so stupid when I say it out loud, but…it’s hard! Okay? It’s hard. My appetite for food is just nonexistent these days.”
“You have to keep trying, Tahliah!” Seth encouraged Twigs passionately, not wishing for her to let this cancer win by allowing it to her effect her this way. The last thing Araceli needed was to find out her daughter was suffering too. “I know life is bullshit right now, but you can’t let the hardships win.”
“I know, I’m trying!” Twigs promised Seth, her voice cracking at the end and revealing the emotions she was holding at bay from him. No, she was NOT gonna let herself cry like a baby! She already wept when he arrived on her doorstep for a surprise visit, and she was determined that that was gonna be the last time until he left to return to California.
“Just think of your mother the next time it’s time to eat.” Seth recommended to his delicate girlfriend. He didn’t want to go there and bring Twig’s mother into this, but he didn’t know what else would work on her. Certainly, him telling her to eat something wouldn’t change a thing, but perhaps the simple thought of Araceli would. “Just picture your mother right next to you, and how she’d react to seeing you in the state you’re in right now, her precious little cheerleader.”
“I already do.” Twigs admitted, lifting her eyes saturated with tears to his. Her bottom lip trembled. “It’s helped somewhat. I think it’s what keeps me from withering away into a pile of bones on my kitchen floor. Right now, this the best that I can do. I know it doesn’t look like it.”
“It doesn’t. And I think you can do way better than this.” Seth expressed with raw honesty. He knew his Tahliah enough to know that even with the worst being pelted at her, she could overcome any hardship and get back up on her feet. Then again, he never once conceived her mother getting cancer in any of those scenarios. Nevertheless, something in his gut told him that she could triumph over this!
Giving Seth’s faith in her a shrug, Twigs lowered her eyes back down to her lap. “Like I said, I’m trying.”
Seth watched as his girlfriend reached out for the coffee he had made her this morning and took several small sips. This was probably the part where he was supposed to be okay with this and leave her to work on amending herself, but that’s not what he wanted to do. He wanted to be the one to help her improve if she would let him. “You don’t have to do it alone anymore, you know? I’m here now, and I want to help you gain some weight back before I head back home.”
Arching a brow at Seth, Twigs thought about it. She couldn’t see how he’d be able to exceed where she couldn’t, and so she inquired in a soft voice. “How? I feel like I’ve already tried everything.”
A sensual smile crept across Seth’s face as he narrowed his eyes wickedly at her. There was only one master plan that came to mind on how he could make his woman eat like a horse. At least that’s the way he saw it resulting in. Or perhaps it was the caveman in him that thought so, sometimes it was hard to differentiate his thoughts from his inner primal needs. “I’m gonna tire you out. Physically exhaust you, really, and drain you of all your energies so you’ll be able to do nothing but eat and drink to survive.”
“Oh yeah?” Twigs replied, cocking her head to the side in feigning curiosity. She knew just by the steamy look in his eyes how he was gonna do it. With sex. At Seth’s sure nod, she then asked him. “And when does this plan of yours begin?”
“As soon as you’re done with your morning coffee.” Seth enlightened Twigs before his eyes lowered to the comforter over her chest. “You can remove that blanket now that we’re done talking.”
Barely containing her smile, Twigs pushed the comforter down to her lap where she descended it even further until it was ultimately kicked aside. Now, Seth could see her entire body. Leaning back against the pillows propped against the headboard, Twigs asked him as she sipped from her mug. “Enjoy the view.”
“Don’t mind if I do.” Seth groaned softly as he too leaned back so he could reach for his zipper. Undoing his pants, he drew his rock-hard erection out and gripped it in his hand. He bit his lip as he stroked down to the base, evading the fantasy of her hand touching him instead. He did NOT wanna cum this early.
Twigs licked her lips at the sight of the engorged length sitting heavily in Seth’s hand. She tried to bite back an anticipating smile of what was to come. As her lover watched her drink her coffee, his hand lazily ran along his impressive length at a snail’s pace in order not to overstimulate himself to the point of no return. Either way, the idle show was a major turn-on for Twigs and a torturous tease at the same time. When she finished the last of her coffee, she didn’t let him know. At the moment, she didn’t feel clean enough to be touched by a man such as him, especially after last night. Setting the empty mug aside, Twigs sat up and swung her legs over the bed and onto the cold floor. “I’ll be right back.”
“Wait what?” Seth said, stunned by Twigs marooning him. He had his dick out and everything and she was planning on leaving him there all alone and horny? “Where the hell are you going?”
“To shower and brush my teeth.” Twigs filled Seth in over her shoulder as she exited her bedroom. This really wasn’t a game of cat and mouse or playing hard to get. She desperately wanted to shower and brush her teeth before they got any further into this.
Dumbfounded, Seth watched Twig’s backside vanish around the corner before quickly reaching down to the hem of his shirt to tear it off of him with an impatient growl. “Not without me!”
Twigs wasn’t expecting her half-naked boyfriend to come up behind her just as she reached her bathroom door and sweep her up in his arms. She let out a giggling squeal as he used his foot to kick open the cracked door and carry her inside for THEIR morning shower.
