Sullen
“Shut it off.”
His eyes were wide, serious in a way that was thought impossible for such a man.
My dry lips parted, ready to argue. Ready to object to his plan. I couldn’t do this.
“For once in your life, listen to me Lux! Shut it off.” I stared at him, for the first time in a long time he was taking his rightful place in my life.
No more lying. No more deceit. Reality had finally caught up to us.
I could do this. I had to do this.
“Just shut it off.”
