A Brontide Lullaby

A New Beginning

Two Years Previous

Her mother was gorgeous, in that natural, laidback kind of way. Allison had her to thank for her own good looks and for all the pampering that she had been awarded through out her lifetime. All to make sure she looked and felt nothing less than a princess. Allison was grateful she was an only child or her up bringing might have been vastly different; although she was beginning to think having a brother might have prevented unwanted things forced upon her.

Her mother, Olive, had grown up an only girl in a family with three other boys leaving Allison's grandparents on a tight budget. This meant Olive hadn't been catered to like Allison had been, she had always assumed that this was part of the reason her mother had always bent over backwards to make sure Allison felt like a princess-- which she couldn't really complain about 'cause what girl wouldn't want that.

Chance, Allison's step-father, hadn't joined them at the airport to bid her farewell due to the fact he strongly disagreed with the idea of sending her away. She couldn't care less where he was at the moment as long as he wasn't bothering her.

The absence of Chance gave the two girls time for a rare mother daughter moment in which Olive would no doubt end up crying and would result in smeared mascara.

The older brunette smiled broadly at her daughter whom instead of having a chestnut hair color similar to her mothers had a golden head of hair. Olive grinned her "Cash Money Smile" which Allison had named because it had convinced so many people in the past to buy homes they simply could not afford.

Olive lifted her frail arms and squeezed Allison's shoulders encouragingly, her eyes flashing back and forth between Allison's. "How do you feel?" She asked softly, though Olive was unsure whether or not she really wanted to hear what was going on in her daughters head.

Allison shrugged her shoulders causing her backpack to shift uncomfortably, "Tired." she laughed half heartedly.

Olive frowned, "I'm sorry Sunny, I should have paid for a later flight." Allison began shaking her head before her mom even finished her sentence, "No no, it's fine. I can sleep on the ride there and hopefully make the trip seem shorter." Allison smiled reassuringly, she knew coming to this decision had to be hard on her mom so the more stress she could take off her shoulders the better.

Olive quickly pulled her into an awkward hug trying to maneuver around the large suitcase in between them. She ignored the annoying blonde hair tickling the tip of her nose and made the embrace last as long as she could; who knew when she'd next see her baby.

"I love you, Sunny. Please please be careful." She whispered sternly in her ear before pulling away. As soon as the words left her mouth the intercom announced over all the noise that her flight was being boarded. They squeezed in one more quick hug and Olive told her to write and call regularly, "I'll tell Chance you missed having him here." She added in which Allison clenched her jaw and prepared herself for departure.

As she suspected her mother's eye began to blink rapidly in an attempt to hold back tears but Allison was about to board the plane and if she went back to comfort her mom she'd cry as well which was something she hated doing.

Present

A can of blue spray paint clattered to the floor as Allison was shoved against a metal shelf tucked in the corner of the janitor closet. Kaiden quickly pressed his chiseled body against Allison's and balled her hair up in his hand. He was still clad in a sweaty basketball jersey which Allison had no objection too for she founded the way it stuck to his abs exceedingly sexy.

"I don't think you realize how hot you look in this little skirt." He huffed against her neck while tugging playfully at the inappropriately short cheerleading bottom, it was amazing the school allowed her to wear something like it.

"I hope I didn't distract you too much during the game." She stuck her bottom lip out in an innocent pout which he immediately captured between his obscenely white teeth pulling her into a not so innocent kiss.

"Judging by the three scores I made I'd say I was able to focus, but God, did you make it a challenge Ali." He groaned adjusting her so he could bury his face in the upper swells of her breasts.

Before things could get anymore heated the door was flung open and the bare light bulb swinging from the ceiling was switched on bathing everything in artificial light. Kaiden didn't bother pulling away from Allison when he saw the displeased look on the janitors wrinkled face, instead grinning mischievously. The janitor moved in the small space and gripping the boys bicep dragged them both from his rightful area.

"When someone tells you kids to 'Get a room' I don't think they mean 'Move yourselves to the janitors closet." He mumbled unhappily while pushing the two giggling culprits ahead of him.

"Oh come on Mr. Byerly, we would've cleaned up when we were done-- we were in a janitors closet afterall." The cocky basketball player winked over at Allison whom slapped his arm playfully.

"That's it. I was going to let you little, ungrateful gits off with a warning but I've run out of patience with you kids we're going to go find a teacher to deal with you two." He curled his gnarled hands around their upper arms and dragged them through the hallways of the large academy.

"I think Ali was dealing with me quite fine sir." This earned him a smack upside the head not from the blonde but the exasperated janitor or had had enough of this nonsense.

The janitor, Mr.Byerly, was somewhat of a joke amongst the students at Breckenridge. He was like the horrendous, alcoholic grandfather that was always looking for a reason to scold you or get you into shit loads of trouble with your parents. His strange vocabulary and made up curse words were more commonly the butt of everyones jokes then Mr. Byerly himself.

Right when Allison was sure the old man was about to give up his search a man exited a classroom with his nose in a large textbook and a lanyard looped around his neck.

"Sir! Mister! Are you a teacher?" She could hear the pure joy in his voice when he saw the man and began to speed walk towards him with teenagers in tow. He was finally about to get justice in his mind.

The unknown man stopped and whirled around when he was addressed, it was obvious he was under the impression he was the only one here at this time of night. After a moment the man nodded, shut the book and approached them.

His apperance was appetizing, she wanted nothing more than to continue looking at him. His prominent cheekbones, and plump lips that were shaped in a smirk sent a delicious jolt down towards her center. The way the light bounced of the blond, tight curls hugging his head made him look heavenly and she wanted to reach out and run her fingers delicately through his hair. Despite all this she couldn't help but object.

"You're not a teacher, I've been going to school here for two years and not once have I seen or heard of you Mr.--" She squinted her eyes trying to read the tiny print on his name tag until he answered her unspoken question.

"Roseman."

"--Mr. Roseman." She finished quickly with squared shoulders. Techincally school hadn't begun yet so she and Kaiden couldn't get into too much trouble. The only reason the two had even been at the school was because the basketball coach was hellbent on keeping "his boys" in shape by having games during the summer.

"Actually dear I am. I've been hired as the new PE teacher. Though you wouldn't have figured that out for two more days."

His British accent was a pleasant surprise considering she had become so accustomed to everyone having Australian accents. Though she had thought Australian accents were undeniably sexy at first, hearing them constantly for two years kind of ruins the effect. But British accents; they were a pleasant change.

"You're a little--" Allison gave him a quick once over "small to be a PE coach." From what she could see he had a toned, fit body but the school's last PE coach had been nicknamed Hulk by the students and staff.

"Does this mean you're going to be the new football coach too?" Kaiden asked nearly cutting off Allison.

Before Mr. Roseman could respond to either of them Mr. Byerly tugged forcefully on the arms in his hands to get his to prisoners to shut their mouths, "I found this two canoodling in my closet and I think something should be done to make sure it doesn't happen again." He demanded in a creaky voice.

Mr. Roseman looked just as amused as Allison and Kaiden were but of course due to his position he had to refrain from laughing or making inappropriate comments as Kaiden had done moments ago.

After a moment Mr. Roseman simply shrugged his shoulders, "I'm sorry sir but since school hasn't actually begun yet we can't punish them. Now, if their coaches would like to put them through extensive workouts thats up to them and you'll have to take that up with them but I can't do anything about it."

The sadistic grin that was plastered on Mr. Byerly's lips gradually fell and his grip loosened making his hands flop helplessly by his sides. If Allison wasn't absolutely disgusted by the man his sad expression might've actually made her feel a little guilty. This feeling quickly disappeared when "The Byerly Glare" returned to his face and he stomped off with slumped shoulders cursing under his breath.

She turned back to face the man who, frankly, saved their asses. He was still watching the retreating figure of Mr. Byerly with a tickled look on his face before addressing them. "You two get back to your dorms. If he catchs you again I won't let it slide so easily." He winked at the confused pair before twisting around on the heel of his foot and disappearing around the corner.

So I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts on this. I'm just now getting back into writing so I'd like some advice or tips :) Comment, subscribe, and recommend!
