A Brontide Lullaby

At Hell's Gates

A slamming door and an angry Korean girl mumbling hysterically to herself was not the ideal way Allison wanted to be woken up her first day of school. She had something more along the lines of a hot cup of coffee and a foot rub in mind, a nice, relaxing morning to prepare her for the horror that was school.

Allison grumbled something in half-hearted attempt to get Sun to shut up and let her continue sleeping. Sun responded in Korean and Allison didn't really care to know the translation for what she had said. In a fully awake state of mind the blonde would be thoroughly amused; it was rare that her bubbly roommate with a soft, pixie like voice got angry but when one is trying to savor the last moments before returning to a year of Hell it's the last thing you want to hear.

Allison rolled over tangling herself further in her green duvet while Sun continued to stomp around the room with the aggression of peeved kitten.

"sonyeon eoliseogseubnida. geudeul-eun jaemiissji anhjiman geudeul-eun ttogttoghaji anhseubnida. naneun bogsu..."

Allison bolted up in her bed causing the springs to squeak in protest and flung a pillow at Sun's head. "Sun! Shut. Up! If your goal was to wake me up you've succeeded! That annoying gibberish you call a language is difficult to sleep through." Sun's wide eyes became even larger as she seemed to cower in the corner waiting for Allison's outburst to end.

Sun's resemblance to sad puppy made her back off immediately. Sun wasn't only her roommate if Allison had a best friend it would probably be her. Now that they were seniors they would be the captains of the cheer team together as well which meant Allison wouldn't have to force herself to "befriend" someone just as bitchy as herself.

One of the reasons she got along with Sun so well was because their personalities were so different it gave them both someone they could be themselves around without acting like the person everyone knew them to be. Despite what many people thought Allison wasn't just a cold hearted, man eating, bitch; she had emotions and had things she struggled with but the only person she allowed to see this truth was Sun. She had to keep people thinking she wasn't just a bitch, she was the bitch.

Untangling her legs from her sheets she swung her legs over the side of her bed and stiffly lifted herself off the bed. Sun was wrapped in a towel with a bun on the top of her head that tittered when she moved, she still managed to look more put together than Allison at that moment.

Sun relaxed as she saw Allison's demeanor change to one of tranquility, and peace; standing up straighter as the anger left the blonde. "I'm sorry Ari. I just assumed you'd be up or about to get up; I know how you hate to wait in rine por showering."

"Sun, it's Ali; AH-LEE not AH-REE." Sun, being raised in Korea since birth only being introduced to the English language two years ago, still struggled with her pronunciations at time. Yes, Allison was always the gentlest person when correcting her but she still viewed it as something only a friend would do-- also if anyone other than Allison tried to correct Sun she would view it as teasing and the wrath of the queen bee would rain down upon the person who dare mess with her friend.

Sun giggled like a small child, her eyes crinkling paper at the corners and her teeth flashing in a wide grin. "I'm sorry Ari-- I mean AH-LEE." She covered her mouth with her hand to muffle her giggles.

Allison sighed heavily and gave Sun a tight smile. At least she's trying... "Speaking of showers, why haven't you taken yours yet?" Allison nodded to Sun's attire that obviously showed her intention to take one before she came back into their room.

The gleeful chocolaty brown in Sun's eyes seemed to melt away and her eyes remind Allison of an endless pit. "Just going out on a limb here but does your agitation have something to do with the showers?" Allison inquired while she began to pull her uniform from her dresser and arrange some clothes for gym class.

"Yes." She muttered with a grumpy child, "The boys habe started the pranking arready. This was not eben punny! They came in at the night stealing showerheads. Now it just goes fssh. like waterfall instead of the ssst... like sprinkler." Sun plopped down on her bed with a childish pout eliciting a rare, genuine giggle from Allison. Knowing Allison was laughing at her diction rather than the immature prank Sun popped her slender middle finger up in Allisons direction.

"Jesus Sun, we can just shower in the locker rooms. After all we are the only ones with the key other than Coach." Hearing the situation in the bathrooms Allison began packing her extra duffel to lug to the locker room in order to get ready there. The "fssh." of the showers in the bathroom sounded much less relaxing than the "ssst..." of the ones in the locker room.

"But that's so par to go when I am dirt-y." She whined falling back on her bed.

"It's either fssh. or sst.... Your choice Sunshine." Allison looped her bags around her shoulders and picked up to bag with her shower stuff, makeup, and various other things she needed to get ready.

She raised her eyebrow in question on Sun whom groaned and began rushing around the room to get her things together before Allison decided to leave her.

Forty-five Minutes Later

Allison exited the shower room already clad in her uniform and pristine white socks. Sun's voice echoed through the locker room as she belted out a song that wasn't familiar to her own ears. The idea of recording her crossed her mind but Allison had a habit of singing in the shower as well so Sun could easily get her payback.

Coach Whitmore entered shortly after Allison began applying her mascara with practiced ease. "Coach W." She acknowledged keeping her focus on the mirror in front of her. Sun must have realized someone else was in their company because her voice was instantly lost among the steam that hung in the air.

"I thought I'd find you girls in here, what with happened in the regular shower area." Coach W rolled her eyes showing that she was equally agitated with the boys as they were, "I won't bother you two long I just wanted to inform you that I want to speak to you two sometime during the day. I just need to give you a run down on Cheer Captain responsibilities and fill you in on some other things."

Shoving her things back into a makeup bag Allison looked up at Coach Whitmore and flashed her a charming smile that much resembled her mothers "Cash Money Flow" smile. "Of course Coach W."
Sun chimed in her agreement.

Coach W gave a curt nod and glanced down at the impressive watch wrapped around her wrist, "You have thirty minutes before the school year begins so I'd pick up the pace if I were you." She threw over her shoulder on her way out. Sun gave a panicked squeal in response that was soon followed by the water being shut off.

Allison was on game despite her rude awakening and had more than enough time for her hair so while she waited for the curling iron to heat up she entertained herself by watching Sun scamper around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

Three and a Half Hours later

Allison watched the strand of hair in front of her face as her steady breathing pushed and pulled at the golden threads. The small repetition was broken when she sucked in a large breath and yawned quietly into her hand. Her physics teacher gave her a less than friendly look silently warning her not to fall asleep. She ignored his watchful looks after that watched the PE class dart around the track field. She smirked when she thought about they looked so much like ants from her seat on the fourth floor, she was truly felt like a queen looking down on all the people who fought to be like her.

There was one person standing apart from the rest seemingly cheering them on. She squinted her eyes as if that would help her see who it was from her distance, she could see it was a coach and that was all she needed to see to realize it was Mr Coach Roseman. She had nearly forgot about meeting the new PE/football coach the interaction didn't seem significant to her in anyway so she hadn't thought too much about it; teachers let things slide with her all the time.

The malicious smirk returned when she remembered his smooth British accent, and his dimples that had no doubt sent many girls into a frenzy. She had never been a huge fan of PE class considering she had cheerleader workouts nearly everyday after school but with a teacher like Coach Roseman things might not be as unbearable as they had been in past years; at least she'd have some quality eye candy.

The bell chimed overheard signaling the end of class and the beginning of her lunch period, she took this time to down to Coach W's office where the woman spent most of her time. Even during practices she seldom made an appearance.

"Coach W?" Allison slid into her office knocking gingerly on the door to announce her presence.

Coach W's office was like any other stereotypical Coach's office. The walls were decorated in various plaques and ribbons while the floors had stacks of magazines and papers that mentioned her team. Her desk was the most un-sports related thing in her office, instead of trophies taking up the surface space it was pictures of her and her wife on exotic around the world trips.

"Good you're here. Sun came by earlier and we spoke then. I have a lot to say so I should get started..."

From there she went over different rules and guidelines that she must follow and enforce among the team. They scheduled a time for tryouts the next week, workouts had already been planned during the summer for everyday afterschool. She signed some form saying she'd do her upmost best to be the best cheer captain physically possible, it was an exaggerated way for her to agree a second time to follow school rules. After receiving her uniform and varsity jacket she hung her backpack off one of her shoulders.

Coach W held up her hand to stop Allison from leaving quite yet, "There's one more thing I need to bring to your attention." She continued wearily, fixing her eyes on Allison's.

It was very rare for Coach to look so uneasy about something so it was only logical when her actions made Allison's stomach sick. She nodded at her Coach for her to continue and that she was listening closely.

So Chapter two! I'm going over this as you read so any errors you see will be fixed UuU This is quite a long chapter and there's no Roseman in it but I promise next chapter you will get tons of him!

Also if the way I portray Sun offends anyone please let me know. Shoot me a message to let me know if you'd prefer me to do it differently 'cause the way I write her in no way is supposed to be offensive, Sun is very new to the English language so her pronunciation would of course be not very well and I'm trying to show that without being offensive :)

Next chapter you'll see just how mean Allison can actually get if you don't think she's mean already but don't worry she won't be a nasty bitch forever!

I love hearing your thoughts so let me know what you're thinking, don't be silent readers! Comment, recommend, and subscribe!
