A Brontide Lullaby
First Name Basis
"Honey, believe me, I'd much rather lay around here than spend two thousand dollars to come work out some disagreement between a spoiled rich boy and you. Don't get me wrong I love visiting you sweetie but this little brat is wasting my time and money."
"They can't force you to come mom. I got this under control. The coaches and headmaster have worked out an agreement that ensures Kaiden and I stay on our sports team as long as we don't have anymore problems."
"Yes, dear, I realize this but this boy's mother isn't too happy after seeing the bruised nose her son was sporting thanks to you. Now, I don't appreciate what this kid did but you got yourself into this mess and now we're gonna have to come and clean it up."
The line had fallen silent after that but her mother's word still thrummed in her mind. Despite his bad boy attitude Kaiden couldn't be a bigger momma's boy and seeing her son with a swollen nose had apparently nearly caused her to have a heart attack. Of course, with Kaiden still being irritated that his oh so beautiful face was marred by a girl he let his mom do as she pleased.
It was rumored that Mrs. Lewis had stormed into the headmaster's office with a face redder than a tomato demanding that Allison's own parents be brought in for a meeting; but in her furious rage coupled with her snobby attitude she failed to care that Allison's parent, unlike her, did not live in Australia.
The phone conversation had occurred the night before and Allison was still racking her brain for a solution. The whole mess had been cleaned up and neatly swept aside and out of the view of the public until Kaiden decided he wasn't done pressing Allison's ever so delicate buttons. From the winks he kept sending her way across the weight room she was confident he understood what he had done and she had half the mind to fling the ten pound weight in her hand at his face.
With this whole mess currently taking place between the two she had been forced to recruit Victoria to be her company during PE. Though she was displeased by her lack of choice in the class she had managed to clean Samwell up sufficiently achieving to make her look one step closer to the cheerleader she now was.
Her once knotty hair that appeared as if she brushed it once a week was now curled and pulled neatly back into a ponytail showcasing her delicate cheek bones. At the moment said cheekbones were flushed with a pink as Victoria struggled to lift a weight bar that appeared to be twice her size by the way she was grimacing.
Allison sighed and helped her prop it back on the holders as she removed some of the weight; if this girl was ever going to be any use to the team she would have to spend a large portion of her time working on her muscles.
"Again." Allison ordered sharply. Victoria's face was still reddened slightly but she had much less trouble with the lightened weight which convinced Allison her spotting was unneeded at the present time. She let her thoughts wander as her teeth met the side of her thumb chewing at it nervously.
At least it was just her mother whom would be visiting her. She could take Olive's angered glares much better than the assessing ones Chance would fix on her.
Assessing.
What a incorrect word to use to describe those looks he'd give her. The assessing gazes that she found Coach Whitmore or Roseman use on her didn't make her skin crawl with the disgust. Chance's however did. His dark eyes were always filled with desire for what he could not have accompanied by a twinkle of sadistic joy. He savored the thought of what innocence he could take from her and twist and mutate until she was able to return what he so cruelly would push upon her.
She didn't have to worry about his vile presence with him being 9,429 miles away in the US and her in the safe confounds of Breckenridge. Her mother was aware of her hatred she directed towards Chance, that was one of the reasons she was sent away after all, so wouldn't she have the decency to not bring him along?
But... why would she have said we're gonna have to come... instead of I'm gonna to have to come... It was a mistake that was all. Her mother wouldn't waste money on two plan tickets for something as stupid as this. Olive slipped up that's all, she was sure of it--
"Allison! Pay attention!" The blonde was shoved aside within seconds only to have her previous spot occupied by none other than Coach Roseman lifting a weight off of Victoria. Roseman was quickly kneeling beside Victoria calming her down with simple breathing exercises which also seemed to bring the color back to her face.
"Breath, Victoria..." He soothed gently which for some incomprehensible only seemed add anger to the mixture of emotions Allison was feeling. How come when she need a calming friend to lean against or someone to count on it was always herself she was forced to rely on? She was aware Victoria had been struggling with the weight but she was ready to jump in if the situation became dangerous, she had everything under control as usual.
Allison didn't need to look at Roseman to know his heated look was now directed at her and for once she was too overwhelmed by her most recent thoughts to scowl back. Her own chest was heaving not because of the sudden intensity that filled the room but due to the revelation that she might soon have to face her step-father again.
"Can, I um, be excused?" Before she could even get a reply she quickly left the weight room heading no where in particular.
Perhaps she could work out something with Kaiden to get him to call off his crazy mother and in turn keep her own family from visiting her. Breckenridge was her safe haven and it was beginning to feel as if her fortress was being compromised by the very thing it was meant to keep out.
"Allison Lancaster, I did not give you permission to leave nor was I finished talking to you." Niklaus had ordered one of the more reliable students to watch over Victoria as he followed Allison out of the room.
He wasn't so much surprised by the way she shrugged off the situation but by the spacey look pinned to her delicate face as she quickly left the weight room. Not to mention she had actually asked for permission to leave, though she didn't wait for a reply that was still a large step he couldn't help but feel happy about.
She was dressed in her typical work out attire and her blond ponytail was swinging back and forth as it usually did making her appear constantly filled with pep. Niklaus had made a point to look anywhere but at Allison's muscular legs the majority of the class. After a long internal battle he had decided admiring a student's body in any shape or form was highly unprofessional. This proved to be difficult though considering the various legs workouts she chose to do. More than once he caught her crystal like eyes trained on him as she dropped down to a squat and back up; even though that faraway look had been dwelling there in those moments so was a hint of playfulness that had Niklaus smiling to himself.
Only when he had heard a pained grunt did he glance over to see Victoria struggling to keep the weight in her hands from crushing her neck and Allison standing aside with a lost-- and dare he say-- scared look. He had barely gotten the chance to make eye contact with Allison before she had darted off to God knows where but he had made sure he was on her heels before she disappeared out of sight.
In the time it had taken Allison to leave the weight room and round the corner her hair was now cascading down around her shoulders in messy waves with her fingers raking through them. Her scalp was becoming sore by the force behind the fingers combing through her hair. She had been prepared for the possibility of Roseman following her so she slowed to a stop and turned to face the curly haired Brit.
She was in no mood to argue with the him, and God did it pain her to admit it, but she almost just wanted to shuffle over to her enraged PE teacher to ask for some of the tenderness he had showed Victoria moments before. Instead she settled to give him eye connect and spare him of her typical bitchy comments.
"I'm sorry, Coach, it's been stressful at Cheer the past couple of days and I guess I spaced out. I just want to be excused from class if that's alright with you."
Dumbstruck, Niklaus' checked his watch reading that there were only about five minutes left of class anyways. When the day came Allison respected him and treated him as her teacher he expected some sort of relief but instead he found himself feeling uneasy and disappointed by the lack of ferocity in her eyes.
Uneasy because Allison was not the type to wear her heart on her sleeve, that much was obvious, so for her to be so open with her distress to the point of being almost polite meant something was brewing behind closed doors. As for his disappointment, well, where was the fun in seeing someone so full of life and fire be suddenly drained of it.
Niklaus fiddled with his watch as he looked back up at Allison who was soon taken aback by his gentle response. "There's not much time left in class, but there's actually something I wished to talk to about. If you can gather your things then meet me in my office I would appreciate it, Ms. Lancaster."
Allison sighed softly wanting nothing more than to skip cheer, curl up in bed and mop but instead she nodded her head and when the bell rung shortly after she made her way to the PE locker room.
Half an Hour Later
"I wasn't sure if you were actually going to come." Niklaus chuckled lightly as he stuffed some irrelevant papers into an already packed drawer.
The back wall of his office had two large windows that looked down on the beautiful courtyard that was located at the front of the school-- as if the luxuriously building wasn't enough to draw people in. Allison looked longingly out at the students scattering about to either afterschool activities or to their dorms.
Hesitantly, Allison sat down on a chair stationed in front of his desk; just knowing what transpired in the room yesterday had her wary on what she touched. It took a moment for it to occur to Niklaus why the girl had an almost disgusted look sewn onto her face but when realization did hit him so did a rosiness in his cheeks.
"Don't... worry, Ms. Lancaster, this room very clean." He mumbled shyly.
"Oh I think we're past such formalities," The blonde glanced down at the name plate situated on his desk, "Niklaus." She read the gold letters slowly and let the 'L' in his name roll of her tongue languidly and finishing off the word as she held out the 'S' somehow making the letter sound delicate and sensual.
Niklaus' jaw tightened involuntarily and he quickly straightened up in his chair eager to get to the point of their meeting. "Let's get to the point shall we, Allison?"
She grinned widely and giggled softly at the exasperated look he held. She had to admit that the way her name slide of his tongue coated in his British accent sounded melodic to her ears. "Let's."
"As I'm sure you remember Daryl beat you in the small contest we had the first day of school."
"Uhm, if you're trying to rub in the lose or something of that sort that typically doesn't work-"
"No no the point I'm getting at is I agreed to supervise an outing for the winner and... he wants to take you out."
Even with Allison's strange behavior Niklaus didn't expect the reaction he got from her. Instead of pulling some revolted face or bursting into a fit of laughter she quietly pondered his words, opening her mouth before snapping it shut again.
"Clear me of three detention periods and I'll go." Her voice revealed none of the hesitation he had seen moments ago on her face. Bargaining with teachers was obviously something she did on the regular or she wouldn't be so at ease when trying to bargain with him.
He mulled over her proposition finding it to be a very enticing deal; ending her detention three days earlier and getting back to his regular sleep schedule was something he was having difficulty saying no to.
"Two."
"Three."
"Two-"
"I think I'll be leaving now if this is all you needed," She moved to gather her bag when Niklaus caved in and gave her what she requested.
"Fine, three, but you better not cause trouble on this date." He learned forward onto his desk whilst fixing her with a serious look, one she was beginning to become amused by.
Allison settled back into her seat and smirked at the blonde man. Being held under such an intense gaze made her smirk widen and her fingers itch to graze across the sharp angles of his jaw bone. Suddenly she wasn't so disgusted at the thought of touching something that was painted in his cu-
"I should also mention he doesn't know I'm coming to you about this so act as if we haven't had this conversation when he asks you out." Niklaus' chillingly blue eyes leaving hers was enough to pull her from her derailed train of thought.
Allison reflexively pressed her thighs together when she realized where exactly her mind had been heading. Fortunately, he wasn't paying any attention to her so he missed her shifting uncomfortably in her chair.
"Why do you care so much?"
"I promised to chaperone an evening night to do as he pleases and if he wants to take you out on a date then I'm going to at least make sure he doesn't get made a fool when he gets rejected. Luckily, it appears that's not going to happen." He clasped his hands together on top of his desk and grinned victoriously at her.
His smug, shit-eating grin was all she needed to get her hormones to fizzle out and become dormant once more. She rolled her eyes and this time actually standing up with bag in hand. "We have a deal, remember that; so you better keep it." She quipped back with a serious look of her own. She was positioned in the doorway ready to leave but lingered there with her hand on the knob when he asked one last thing.
"And is everything all right, Allison?" He twirled a pen nervously in his hand trying to sound like a concerned teacher. He was never an expert when it came to comforting people but seeing as he was a high school teacher that was something he was going to have to get over.
The corner of Allison's mouth twitched when she remembered the cloudy mood she had been in not too long ago. Her emotions had been a mess of fear, anxiety, and anger which somehow melded together to make her feel downright depressed. Though it was short, her meeting with Niklaus had proved to be a successful distraction causing her to forget about the situation entirely; but of course it was too good to last.
Allison nodded with a tight smile, "Yeah, I just went to sleep really early this morning so I'm a bit sleep deprived at the moment."
Niklaus narrowed his eyes skeptically and lowered his head to gaze up at her through his eyelashes. The twirling of the pen between his fingers had stopped and was now being clicked repeatedly with one of his slender fingers.
He can take his suspicion and shove it up his ass, I didn't get very much sleep last night!
She left the room quickly after the sentence left her mouth and his eyes began searching her face for the truth; the last thing she needed right now was him questioning her.

I've been working on this for a really long time but I just haven't been in the writing mood so I hope it isn't too disappointing. I'm sure by now you all can guess what her secret is, if not than I'm happy!I've read other this but I'm dog tired so I'll probably go back over it at some point when I'm more awake, they'll probably be some errors in there. Speaking of being tired I'm in the middle of taking exams! I'm almost through with them but their so draining and when I was looking for gifs for this chapter I found this and they just give me sooo many Klaroline feels for some reason(God why is he so adorable?).
So while I go read Klaroline fanfics read this, subscribe, comment, and recommend!
For anyone that's even mildly interested in a Supernatural fanfic let me know 'cause I was thinking about using Megan Fox for the main character if I decide to write one.
