Let Love Bleed Red

Chapter 31

I walked outside to see Kellin leaning against the side of the building, cigarette between his fingers. He was so talented and so beautiful, I don't know why he chose to ruin himself with smoking.
"Hey.." I said. He quickly picked his head up, hiding his hand, but calmed down once he realized it was just me.
"I thought you were quitting?" I asked. He flicked it to the floor and squished it with his shoe.
"I told you, I'm trying.." He sighed. I smiled at him sympathetically. He walked over, gently placing his hand in mine as we made our way down the sidewalk back to the venue.
"So what now?" He asked, keeping his eyes forward.
"What if we had our date now?" I asked. He stopped, looking over at me. He was now smiling.
"This isn't the girl I met in that basement the first night." He giggled "what's gotten into you?" I shrugged. I wasn't entirely sure, I just knew that I liked it.
"So is that a no?" I asked. He pulled me closer
"Of course that's not a no" he laughed. "Where do you wanna go?"
"Well I've never been here.."
"I can find us a private bar somewhere."
"So our first date is going to be at a bar?" I laughed, leaning my head on his shoulder. He was warm, and I felt safe with him.

He eventually lead us down to this small quiet bar on the other side of town. He helped himself to a small table near the back, pulling out my chair for me.
"What a gentleman."
"Anything for my lady."

"So.." He said, sitting down. "Did I mention how good you sounded tonight?" I was blushing now.
"No you didn't."
"I'm sure I did, Kira." He reached over, taking one of my hands in his. He was so cute.
"So, what more do you want to know about me? I'm an open book for you, Kira." I thought about it. What did I want to know?

"How was your childhood?" I asked. He shrugged.
"Pretty average, if you ask me. I kind of had to raise myself, but it wasn't too bad. Nothing traumatic, really. What about you?"
"I can't really complain." He was quiet for a minute.

"So.. then why are you so terrified of.. feeling anything?" He asked. I bit my lip.
"I'm.. I'm not terrified. I just.. don't. Those feelings just don't happen for me. Well, they didn't." He smirked.
"Didn't?" He questioned.
"I feel good around you.." I said quietly.
"Do you like me?"
"Maybe"
"Maybe is better than no." He laughed to himself. I couldn't help but smile back.
"What would make you like me?" He asked.
"I guess we're gonna find out." I giggled.
"Well, what made you agree to go out with me?"
"The fact that you wouldn't let me go onstage if I didn't." I quickly responded. He smirked.
"Funny, Kira." He said, but I could tell he wasn't satisfied with that answer. I sighed.
"I want to like you. I really want to like you. But, you can definitely say that I'm skeptical. Especially in.. this environment. And because of who you are. It might not be fair, but that's just how I feel." I looked down at our hands now, his fingers still gently interlocked with mine.

"I understand." He mumbled.
"And.. what happens after the tour?" I continued. "We just go our separate ways like nothing happened?"
"Well, I don't wanna do that." He said. I was somewhat relieved. He sighed, running his fingers through his hair.
"Look, Kira. I like you. A lot. I already know that. As if I haven't already made that obvious. And I'm gonna try really hard to make this work. But, only if I know you want it too." I stared back up at him.
"I do want you." I finally said. He sighed.
"So then date me."
"I just-" he sighed again, cutting me off, but eventually flashed me a smile.
"This could all be so simple if you just trust me." He said.
"It's just not that easy."
"I won't hurt you, Kira." He said simply.
"Maybe not intentionally."

He then got up, pulling his chair over to my side of the table, sitting close. I couldn't help but smile as he placed his hand on my thigh, pulling me closer to him. My heart was beating faster now. I just wanted to kiss him. I think he could tell. He giggled, leaning in, gently pressing his forehead to mine.
"You're so cute." I sighed. He flashed a toothy smile. He was so handsome when he smiled.
"I could be all yours if you want, Kira. Just say the word."

And I did want him, but this just didn't seem like something to rush into. I thought about all the girls who would kill to be in this position right now, and how quickly they'd jump at the offer, so why couldn't I?

I then leaned in, gently kissing him on the lips. I could feel his body tense up, but it wasn't long until I felt him move closer, kissing me back. I moved my hands to his chest, clinging onto his shirt, and pulled him closer. I always wanted him closer.
"Kira.." He sighed between kisses.
"Hmm?"
"Please stay with me tonight."
"... Okay."
