Let Love Bleed Red

Chapter 34

I felt my body get cold.
"Could.. Could I what?" I asked. He sighed.
"Kira, you know what I'm asking." I knew exactly what he was asking, I just wanted to kill as much time as possible before he demanded an answer. I sat up, running my fingers through my hair, now looking out the bus window. I wasn't exactly sure where we were today.

"Kellin, I.. I think I should get going."
"Kira, please." He whined. "What's so wrong with me? I don't understand, this could be so simple. What? Am I not enough for you?"
I couldn't help but smile. Not enough for me? He was.. absolutely perfect. And I was terrified.

"That's not it at all.." I trailed off. He was now sitting up, and was staring back at me. I admired his shirtless chest up to his big blue eyes, staring into mine.
"Then what's wrong?" He said softly. I felt tears start to fill my eyes. Great. I quickly tried wiping them away before he noticed. No such luck.
"Kira, what's wrong?" He said, moving closer to me. He gently traced his fingers along my cheek. My heart was racing now; he wasn't making this any easier.
"I.. I should really get going." I said, pushing past him, climbing down from his bunk.

"Kira, wait!" He called out, but I ignored him. Quickly slipping on my shoes, and making my way through the bus. I heard him following close behind.
"Kellin I'll see you around ok?" I managed while reaching for the door. I then felt his hand grab mine, pulling me back.
"Please don't do this, Kira."
"Kellin I gotta go."
"But why? Just tell me why, what did I do?"
"You didn't do anything, you're perfect. That's the problem." I said, biting down on my lip. I quickly wiped my eyes again.
"Kellin, you're.. incredible. And I don't feel like I'm good enough for you, okay?" I gently pulled my hand away from his. He stared back at me, his eyes wide and sad.
"Kira, you-"
"It's fine, I should just go." He reached out for my hand again.
"Kira, please don't."
"I'll see you around, okay?" I said opening the door, stepping off. I could see there was a line of fans already around the side of the building. Great. Just what I needed. An audience.
"Kira, please come back!" I heard from behind me.
"Woah, you can't go out there." I heard, an unfamiliar voice. I could see their manager now holding him back. I sighed.

"See. We're.. different. I'll see you later, Kellin." I said, shutting the door behind me.
