Threat

Liar

I promised that I wouldn’t do it.
I promised that I would stop.

So why am I here, huddled up on the bathroom floor, holding a small razorblade between my fingers?

I couldn’t stop staring at the dull edge.

I’m with the woman that I love.
I’m alive.
I’m happy, right?

Then why?

I dropped the blade, startled by the sound of the front door slamming shut.

Marcia’s home.

I picked up the blade and hid it in the cabinet before walking out of the bathroom.
I walked downstairs expecting Marcia to be angry, but—

“Tyler~!”

She ran towards me, pulling me into a tight hug.
There was a bright smile on her lips.

“Good day at work?”
I ended up smiling back at her.

“Mhm! I got paid extra today! So, how does Italian food for tonight sound?”
“Sounds great.”

She giggled a little as she pulled away from me.

“You can invite Michael if you want to, okay? I’m going to get ready.”
And she was upstairs.

She must have been paid a lot to be in this good of a mood.

I pulled out my phone before typing and sending the question to Michael.
It sounded in less than a minute.

Micah: “No.”

I frowned.

Me: “Why?”

Micah: “I feel like you know why.”

I bit down on my lip.

Me: “Micah…I know you don’t like her, but if you just get to know her, I’m sure you two will end up being friends.”

Micah: “I’d rather not be friends with an abusive, obsessive, possessive bitch.”

I bit harder.

Me: “That’s harsh…”

Micah: “You know damn well that it’s true. I’m not going anywhere near her. End of conversation.”

“Are you gonna get ready?”
I quickly shoved my phone back into my pocket at the sound of Marcia’s voice.

“Y-Yeah, in a minute.”
She gave me a wary look.

“What did Michael say?”
“He said he was busy again.” I lied through my teeth.

She crossed her arms over her chest.

“For a guy who works at a flower shop?”
I shrugged my shoulders before walking past her to get to the stairs.

“Liar.”

I quickly made my way to the bedroom, heart rate increasing.
Hearing the sound of heels clacking on the steps did not help.

And when they stopped at the door, I couldn’t keep calm.

“I-I’m sorry…”

But there was no pain; only a pair of lips on mine.

“Get dressed, baby boy.”
I nodded before she left me to be alone.

I’ll be okay.
Tonight is going to be a good one.

She’s happy, and that’s what matters the most right now.

Dinner was going great – aside from Marcia’s constant glaring at our waiter.
She’s doing it again right now, actually.

The poor waiter backed away, not even attempting to ask what he needed to ask.

“Marcia…”
“I don’t like the way he’s looking at you.”
She grumbled, absent-mindedly stirring her drink with her straw.

“He’s just a kid. He doesn’t know better.”
“He should…”

I placed my hand on top of hers, brushing her knuckles with my thumb.

“I’m sure he gets the point. Now stop before he’s too afraid to give us our dessert…!”
I let out a small laugh, causing her to smile in return.

“Okay…I’ll try.”

“Yes! Finally home with some chocolate cake~!”
I placed the boxes onto the table, not hesitating to grab a fork out of the drawer.

“Geez, Tyler. You just got home.”
Marcia seemed amused.

I didn’t care though, considering the fact that I already have a mouth full of chocolate.
It wasn’t long until Marcia decided to straddle me, taking the fork out of my hand.

“Seriously?”

But I knew that I couldn’t fight those bright, green eyes of hers.
And soon her lips were on mine without a second thought.

Heated kisses from head down to the neck.
Roaming hands. Soft moans.

“Bedroom. Now.

No choice but to comply.

Locked door. Clothes on the floor.
Straddled and pinned to the bed, once again.

“Tyler…?”
“Hm?”

“…Do you think I’m pretty?”
I placed a hand onto her cheek, giving her a sincere smile.

“You are beautiful, Marcia. You always are.”

I only got a small smile in return.

She doesn’t believe me.

I gently pulled her down towards me until she rested on me.

“You still love me, right…?”
“Of course I do.”

She moved off of me, grabbing her underwear off of the floor before making her way to the bathroom.

“Liar.”

Damn, lovelies. Only the second chapter in and Marcia is already voted as the least favorite character haha
Well, I guess this chapter might slightly make up for it (?).
Don'tFearTheReaper, JurassicLover, silent hearts., heroes. <3
'Til the next chapter!
