I met him at the library I was sitting at the quiet area studying for midterms. He and his friends didn't understand the concept of the quiet area. Walt I'm broken I give zero shit about other people
I am the wild child of campus. Walt if you could see me now I would've killed of a heart attack already. They laughed to loud and obnoxiously you could probably hear them up to the sun room on the second floor. I groaned out in exasperation and walked over to them textbooks on both arms.
"Listen you fuckers its midterms, keep your shit down alright" I said venomously
They looked at each other; eyebrows raised or knitted together hate radiating from them except him. James, he smiled at me and shook his head.
I glared at him before leaving the library. James followed me out.
"Wait" I kept walking away
I remember my mother had said to me "you're only ever good at walking away from Problems Elsie, like your dammed father you are" she hiccupped "You’re fucking damn father"
Anger surged as I remember the words of my mother. I wondered if he could feel it, could see how angry I was. I wanted to scream I wanted to throw up anything to shake off this anger.
He grabbed me by my arm breaking me from my trance
"I said Wait" I said sternly yet calmly. No threat laced in his words
"What" I said through gritted teeth
"Elsie right?" I rolled my eyes waiting to walk away again
"Give me a chance girl, damn it" I stood there watching him trying to find the right words "damn it"
"I know I’m not the guy, what’s his name" I stayed silent looking at his complexion, tracing my eyes
on his jaw line and the strength it had. And his eyes so deep brown
"Walt" I said after a few seconds
"I know I’m not Walt, I know that you're not you, Elsie Just give me a chance"
Such a big campus and everyone knew, they knew me for the broken girl I am. I felt so ashamed
"A chance for what?"
"For a date" he said calmly. I swallowed the knot that was forming in the back of my throat

"Okay!" he said a smile formed on his face, it reminded me of yours
