20 years after returning to Tommy and Maria's dam, Joel finally tells Ellie the truth about what happened when they last encountered the Fireflies. Now two months after the truth was revealed, Joel has suddenly disappeared and newcomers have now arrived, searching for help. Ellie now in full leadership over the dam must now not only open up her home but also her heart to these newcomers. Will she be able to save these people and look for Joel or will she give it all up to protect the people within the dam?
