Chapter 34
His lips skimmed my neck, as he tightened his hold on my hips. I closed my eyes. He smelled like smoke and something else I couldn't identify right anyway. When I did, I laughed softly. The other scent was spearmint.
"You don't want to get caught smoking, do you?" I asked as his hands tangled in my hair. I looked at him.
He pulled away from me slightly, his brown eyes flickering across my face. His pale skin was drenched in a red glow from the lights above us.
"Stop talking," he insisted.
His mouth found mine, and I swore he would devour me with the way he kissed. The music pulsed softly around us—inside us. When his hands left my hair, I felt his fingers on my thighs, gripping hard.
Bruising.
The bathroom reeked of vomit and stale beer.
"What is your name?" I asked, realizing I didn't know.
He pushed me into the counter of the sink, but didn't answer. I shut my eyes one last time.
"I can make you forget him," he whispered.
Unlikely, darling, but you can try.
