Assassins

Chapter 3: Bar Fight

As the night proceeded at the bar, three men came over to sit with me.

“Heyyy their sexy.” said the drunkest one there.

The other two where winking at me and making kissing faces.

“Drunks.” I said and then yawned.

“Bored? How about I buy you a drink and then take you back to my place?”

“No thanks, boys.” I said.

One of them slipped their arm around me and whispered in my ear, “What makes you think you can escape?”

I couldn’t stop myself from smirking.

You will ALL fucking DIE tonight.

“Fine.” I said.

“That’s a good girl” said the drunkest man and he slapped my ass as they shoved me out the bar.

They threw me into the alley way near the bar and the last one to come over had his dick already out as he stroked himself fast to become harder.

“For a girl that’s about to get raped, your pretty calm. Or is it that you want dick?” said the second man who found it suspicious that I wasn’t screaming.

I dropped down to my knees.

“What a good little whore.” said the first man who lead the group.

The third guy who has his dick already out walked up to me and gripped onto my hair the moment I grabbed his cock. My eyes glowed in excitement once I clicked the lock open on my ring. The wire slid out fast and easy just like butter…

The man screamed the second the wire tightened on his skin, and with my speed I didn’t give him a chance to react to having his dick cut off his body because I then sliced his neck with the knife I had on me.

The leader of the group yelled, “WHAT THE FUCK,” before charging at me, seconds later he pulled out a mini gun from his pocket. I threw my leg up in the air and kicked it out of his hand. Then I gripped his arm and broke it with my knee and then flipped him. The last guy decided to run, so I grabbed the knife I had hidden under my dress and threw it at him. He immediately fell and once he tried to stand up again I grabbed the mini gun. I then shot him with every bullet I had. I then placed the mini gun in the strap I had under my dress. I walked over to the last guy and grabbed his foot and dragged him over to be with the rest of his trashy friends.

The leader of the group was still alive and he had fallen silent in hopes I’d forget about him. He was holding onto his arm that I had broken, and he looked up at me terrified when I came over.

“Don’t, please don’t!” he yelled out.

I placed my finger over his lips, “Shh…no one will ever hear you. Isn’t that what you were going to say to me?”

His eyes widened as I pulled the knife out of the last guy I had pulled next to him. I then shoved my knee in his face, grabbed him by his hair and then sliced his neck. I snapped the knife back into it’s place safely under my dress.

I stared at the brick wall for a second and then closed my eyes as I pictured the blood I had gotten on me. “mmm..”

“Are you okay?” I heard a voice say from behind me.

I turned my body slowly to see the server from the bar I had been staring at.

He walked over to me and placed his hand on my cheek and his eyes said it all. He felt bad for me, and he probably thinks these guys all turned on each other.

“Are you so frightened that you can’t speak?” He said and then pulled me into a hug.

My eyes widened as he hugged me tightly. I felt flashing memories coming before me about when Damien would hold me like this. God. It always made me just want to melt and forever stay in that hold.

I shifted my eyes back and forth before whispering in the quietest voice, “I don’t even know your name...”

“I’m Zane, and who might you be, beautiful?” He said in the calmest, kindest voice I had ever heard. sounds like a man with a big heart.

“Lottie.” I said even quieter then I had before, and yet he still heard me.

“That’s a really mysterious name.” said Zane.

I couldn’t help but to crack a small smile as he held me.

The next morning I found myself waking up in one of his long dress shirts, sleeping next to him. He was facing me with his hand on my waist close, and his eyes were shut.

The fact of the matter is I came over to this guys place just to sleep in the same bed as him so that I wouldn’t be alone. I can’t exactly hide the fact that I miss Damien and Zane reminds me of him. I also am rather suspicious that he knows I killed all three guys and that they didn’t turn on each other. I have to kill Zane if I find out he knows, and it would probably be a smarter idea to just kill him now for my own safety.

I shifted my eyes to look at the rings I was still wearing…I could choke him to death…

When my eyes looked back at him, his ocean blue eyes were open staring at me, and his lips had formed a smile.

He moved his hand from my hip to my cheek and said, “Are you feeling less shaky?”

I never was shaking…

“I’m fine.” I said.

He smiled and then said, “You know you were yelling for a guy named Damien to ‘stop’ last night.”

My eyes widened, Am I still dreaming of him?

“Did you have an abusive ex?” asked Zane looking at me sympathetically.

The best part about this guy is that he comes up with the excuse for you. I don’t even have to make up a lie…

“Yeah…” I said and then turned my head. He pulled my waist closer to him and then wrapped his arms around me. He slid his fingers through my hair and caressed my arm before lightly trailing his fingers down and up it.

“Shall I make us breakfast?” He said with a smile.

“Thank you, Zane.” I said and I watched him get up and stretch. He was shirtless, and a rather sexy shirtless man at that. He had on skinny black jeans that looked rather faded.

“I washed your clothes by the way.” He said as he made his way into the kitchen.

Imagine that huh? I should make him my new cleaner.

“Thank you.” I said and I sat down at the kitchen table as he began to make food. I found my eyes wandering around his small place.

“I know it’s not big, but it’s just me.” said Zane.

“Do you get lonely?” I asked.

“Sometimes, but I kind of like solitude.” Said Zane and he placed a plate of eggs and hash browns in front of me.

I took a bite and slowly chewed, he sat across me eating his food not phased in the slightest that I was staring at him.

“Is that why you brought me here?” I said slowly.

“No, it’s just, if a woman is going to get raped and you don’t come in time to save her, and she happens to live, you feel bad.” said Zane.

“Do you think you could have taken on three men?” I asked.

“Of course.” said Zane with absolute confidence.

I couldn’t help but to smirk, “How cute.”

He looked up at me surprised. “You come off rather confident.”

“Confident about what?” I asked.

“I don’t know, it’s just something about you.” said Zane.

“Are you always working at the bar?” I asked.

“Yes, but I do work part time at a coffee shop just a block away. It’s not easy paying rent out here everything is so expensive. I make it work though.” He said before getting up and washing his dish.

“Why don’t you just move then? Is it because you have family close?” I asked.

“My Dad’s in debt because of his gambling and my Mother was murdered.” He said and then grabbed my plate which I had hardly touched and washed that dish.

“I’m sorry that happened, do you ever think about getting revenge on the man who did it?” I asked slowly, to test and see if he could be a potential client.

“No, because he’s in jail.” said Zane and he walked off to get my clothes.

I sighed. Of course Jackie Jack took my fucking business.

He came back and placed my clothes in front of me, they were neatly folded.

“For a man without a Mother you’ve got quite the gentle touch.” I said.

Zane laughed, “Well, it’s not really that, I just take my time. What’s the point in being in a rush?”

I couldn’t help but to smile, that’s definetly something an assassin would say. Solitude and patience is probably two of the top qualities of an assassin, and the desire to kill of course.

“What about you?” asked Zane.

“Hmm?”

“Do you have any family around here?” asked Zane.

“My Mother is dead, and my Father is gone. I don’t have any siblings.” I said.

“It looks like you and I are alike.” said Zane with a gentle smile as he looked into my light blue eyes with his dark blue ones.

“Hopefully not to alike.” I said back.

He looked at me questioningly.

I stood up and grabbed my clothes and changed right in front of him, and of course he was a gentlemen and looked away.

“Do you always just change in front of strangers?” asked Zane.

“It’s just a body Zane, nothing more. You’re body is a vessel meant to be used to the fullest.” I then got up and walked towards the door.

“ Will you tell me your name again?” said Zane standing up and walking over towards the door.

My hand was on the doorknob and then I turned my head and smiled, “It’s Lottie.”

Something inside me told me it would be more logical to kill Zane, in case he knows something. However, I just don’t want to kill him because he looks so much like Damien. This could seriously end up biting me in the ass.

Zane nodded.

I turned the doorknob and as I did Zane spoke up.

“I didn’t entirely tell the truth.” He said.

I stopped dead in my tracks and released the knob and turned towards him slowly.

I have to kill him. I have to. I have to fucking kill him. I felt the intense paranoia build inside me. I’ve never once in my life let someone go if I was suspicious of someone knowing something. My Mother did that once…he hurt her so bad.

I didn’t say anything, just stood there and stared at him.

He took a deep breath before he spoke, “The man that murdered my Mother was an assassin. As much as I hate that man, I want to kill the man who hired him more then anything. Although I won’t be as cowardly as him to hire someone, I’ll kill him myself if I ever get the chance.”

I stared at Zane, his shirtless attractive body, his black hair, those eyes, a handsome man. I can tell he’s smart and motivated, a man capable of anything.

“Why don’t you find him?” I asked.

“I don’t have any way of finding him and I really don’t know why I’m telling you any of this.” said Zane before chuckling and shaking his head.

“Zane, listen to me.” I said and I walked over to him and put my finger on his chin and made him look up at me.

“Anyone can be found, all you have to do is search.” I said.

“You know Lottie, most women wouldn’t say things like you do.” said Zane with a slight smile and a little bit of a pained look in his eyes.

“Most women don’t want to be found.” I said and then turned to walk away.
He snatched my wrist and pulled me towards him; I turned my head to look at him.

“Would you want to get a drink sometime?” he asked in the most gentle voice.

I couldn’t help but to smile.

“Maybe.” I said.

“Meet me at the Rivera restauraunt in the evening, if you want to come.” said Zane. He looked patient, but I could tell there was a slight eagerness about him.

This time I left, and I figured it would be best if I never saw him again. Getting recognized is dangerous. I know that if I get close to anyone it’ll only mean trouble. Plus, I know Damien will find his way out of that prison sooner or later, and he’ll come after me. I can’t have him going after people who didn’t do anything wrong.

When I left I made my way home. I placed my hands in my pockets and I felt paper, and when I pulled it out I unrolled it and saw Zane had written his number on it.

“Sly fox.” I said and then laughed.
