I Can Barely Feel Anything Real

"Baaaaaack on the road again!" Jonathan sang while Caleb strummed some random chords.

"I hate our stu-pid bu-hu-hu-hus," Austin threw in the background.

"Whennn are we-hee in the next town, I real-lly need to PEEEEEE!" Kyle sang in a high-pitched operatic voice.

"It will be ano-therrr twenty minutes, bro. Sucks to be yo-uuuu!" The 'song' ended on a sad note, and Marc clapped enthusiastically.

"That was truly awe... ful!" I called from my bunk with Kyle pouting at my words.

"Hey, It's the truth. Sorry." I shrugged simply and pecked his lips, making him smile.

Twenty minutes passed quite fast. Kyle went to relieve himself, and Kent and Caleb decided to go yell at people outside who were coming out of the Burger King.

"BUY OUR NEW RECORD!" Caleb called.

"DROPS THE TWENTY NINTH, BITCHES! NO SYKE!" Kent screamed. This varied, until it stopped for a minute. I looked out of my window to see a group of guys had stopped in front of them, so I stepped outside the bus to hear their conversation.

"Who are you guys?" One of the more muscled guys asked. Caleb gasped theatrically.

"You mean you don't know who we are just by looking at us?" Kent feigned shock. The four boys shook their heads and I chuckled quietly to myself.

"We are but the greatest hip-hop-jazz-rythmic-tap-dancers with instrumental harmonicas, bagpipes, organs and baritones in the background. We're also a little bit regge. Throw in a banjo and you've got us, forever the sickest kids. Look us up on youtube, you'll love us!" Caleb smiled widely and nodded at them when they passed him.

"That wasn't very cool. You just lost four possible fans!" I said when I walked up to them. Kent smiled and shook his head.

"So naïve. Now they'll go home and look us up. They'll want to know how bagpipes can be regge, and are possibly wondering how sick we really are." He put his arm around my shoulders and shook me slightly. "You'll learn eventually. Caleb, you raised quite the clueless sister."

"My apologies. I thought she would catch on eventually." I shook my head and walked back to the bus, to see Kyle sitting on the couch drinking water.

"I feel so much better." He said after he swallowed. We then returned to the bunks and continued doing what we had been doing before the operatic breakout.

It was late, and everyone was sleeping. I felt my phone vibrate in my hand.

"Hello?" I said quietly as possible into the mouthpiece.

"Alexa. Sav just broke up with mmme - she said that I-I-I was a prick and she fo-found something better." I knew it was Stefan. It was hard to tell what he was saying, partly from the slurs and partly from the sobs.

"Stefan, shh, it's alright. She doesn't know what she's talking about. She'll realise that someday, and regret it so much." I knew she wouldn't. Breaking people is what she lived for. "Where are you right now?"

"I-I don't kno-o-w. S-s-some highway?" He slurred and cried, nearly chocking on his tears.

"Stefan, how much have you had to drink?" I asked, worrying slightly.

"I do-on't know. A lot? Not en-n-ough-f. N-no. I need more." I heard him take a deep inhale and knew he was smoking. What the hell did he think he was doing? "Alexa, I c-can't hand-d-le th-i-is any l-on-gg-er. I-I'm going to end i-i-t. Now..."

"Don't you dare, Stefan. You'll be fine. I'll be home in a week. I won't leave your side. Don't do it, pull your car over." Tears were falling down my cheeks.

"No, Alexa. This is it. I-I-can't wait a wee-k-k. I c-an't I ha-ha-ve to..." He trailed off. "I lo-ve you, Alexa."

"I love you too, Stefan." I knew it was true, when I thought about it. "You have me, just pull your car over. Talk to me, Stefan."

"No, I'm over... I-I-" I heard a crash and then the line went dead.
