Midnight

Night changes.

Londyn woke up the next morning in her own bed. She could hear the television from where she laid which didn't really surprise her. Harry never turned it off. She let out a yawn as she placed her feet on the floor. A shiver covered her thanks to the lack of heat. She regretted moving now.

She forced herself to walk into the living room, immediately turning off the television. As she sat the remote on the coffee table she noticed a small piece of paper which was scribbled on in Harry's writing.

'Thank you for letting me stay again. - xx Harry'

She chuckled as she crumbled up the note on the way to the kitchen. She needed coffee ASAP. As she waited for the coffee to brew she walked into the living room once more only to hear an unfamiliar song. She liked around trying to find where the sound was coming from. It didn't take her long to find a phone shoved in between the cushions of the couch leading her to believe it was Harry's phone. She glanced at the screen to see the name Niall on it and she immediately remembered the name from Harry's your stories. She figured it in fact could've been Harry looking for his phone so she decided to answer the call.

"Hello?"

"Hey...wait who is this?"

"Oh, um this is Londyn. Harry left his phone here. I thought mabe you were him looking for it."

"Londyn? Oh! The girl in the apartment below him?!"

"Yes, I assume I should be flattered he talks about me."

Niall laughed on the other end of the phone, "I guess so. Well, I guess the idiot will be missing practice."

"I can go wake him up for you."

"Would you? That would be brilliant!" He said excitedly causing her to chuckle as she headed to her room to get dressed.

"I will. I'll have him call you when he's on his way."

"Awesome. Hey, you should have him bring you! I feel like we are now friends, it's only proper we meet, aye?"

"Well, we will see. How about that?" She replied as she opened the door to her closet. The boy eventually said goodbye and it took her all of ten minutes to get ready. She really was a simple girl. Sometimes she hated that about herself.

She shoved her own phone and Harry's into her back pockets before making two cups of coffee and swiftly pushing herself out of the window. She assumed she could use the door but she knew his window would be open and banging on his door to wake him up could be a hassle.

She climbed the stairs and glanced into his window before opening it. He clearly was asleep because the place was still quiet. She tip toed into his room where the boy was sprawled out face first onto the bed. She couldn't help but chuckle before sitting the coffee on the dresser. She only took a few seconds to debate on how to do wake him before giving up and using the shaking effect.

"Harry wake up! You left your phone at my house and Niall called. You're late for practice." She stated continuing to shake the now groaning boy.

"I hate Niall. I hate practice." He mumbled into his pillow which he clung to for dear life.

"Savannah called too. She said she's coming over."

"What?!" He yelled as he sat up so quickly he almost fell off the bed.

"Kidding. But that worked pretty well."

Harry narrowed his green eyes at her and she couldn't help but laugh at the disaster he called hair.

"Not so pretty in the morning. Guess beauty sleep is a real thing." She teased as he threw a pillow at her.

"And to think I brought this for you." She stated, picking up the coffee cup. He pouted and held out his hand.

"Mhmm." She mumbled as she stepped over, handing the warm mug to him.

"Thank you." He mumbled after taking a sip.

"So you're friend Niall..." She stated sitting on his bed like it was nothing.

A groan escaped his lips, "How long did you bloody talk to him?"

"A few minutes. He's nice. Where is he from? His accent isn't English."

"Ireland."

"Ah I see." She stated watching him as he grabbed for his phone.

"Well, it must've been a hell of a few minutes!" He stated looking up at her and she gave him a confused look.

"He told me to bring you with me." He snickered and she shoved him lightly.

"Oh dear Harry, as much as I would love to meet your friends I have a deadline tomorrow and I haven't written anything." She stated remembering the article she was suppose to write. Londyn wrote for a newspaper, although she had her mind set on bigger dreams it paid the bills for now.

"Oh please, I've seen you whip up an article in an hour. Don't feed me that crap." He stated finally moving from the bed.

"Yeah well..."

"So you're coming? I mean, we can't just be balcony friends for the rest of our lives, Lon. Do you not want to be seen with me in public?" He teased, sitting his coffee down before stepping in front of a mirror to fix his hair.

"Boy bands ruin my rep."

Harry scoffed, "Don't worry, I'll do that by myself."

She eyed him as he seemed focused on his hair at the moment. She couldn't tell if he was joking about that or not. Sure, she knew who he was, was she sure of what that meant? Not really. She wasn't going to google him or give in to tabloids. As a writer she tried to stay away from all that. Polluted her thinking.

"Fine. I'll go. Is this Niall guy attractive?" She asked resting on his bed.

"Well, he's the blonde in that picture in the living room." He stated as he put on fresh jeans.

"Oh! Really? Mhm." She stated more to herself than him as she brushed her dark hair behind her ear.

Harry rolled his eyes as he tried to find a shirt.

"So should I go with the white one or oh, the white one?" She mocked in a British tone as she watched him stand in front of his closet.

"You know what..." He began as he in fact pulled a white shirt off the hanger.

"We're really close to not being friends anymore."

"Oh because I know you so well? Scary, huh?" She teased and he chuckled as he pulled the shirt over his head.

He shook his head as he grabbed for his typical shoes at least they were typical for her to see them on him.

"Best run up stairs for your jacket." He stated and she saluted him as climbed off his bed and went to the window.

"It's too much to be normal and use the door." She stated and he laughed as he watched her leave. She returned not even a minute later as he was slipping on his own coat.

"Come on love. Now, you better live up to my standards. I've talked a good game for you." He teased as they waited on the elevator.

"Oh Harry! I'm so flattered!" She said placing her hand over her chest dramatically.

"I left out the part where your sarcasm is out of this world." He mumbled as they stepped into the empty elevator.

"Well, have to leave something to their imagination!"

He chuckled as the elevator beeped and the doors opened. She swiftly pulled him out by his arm and he allowed her to do so until she stopped a bit before they reached the door.

"Do you even own a car?" She questioned and he let out a laugh, "I do, but there should be a driver waiting for us out here actually. By the way, I'm sorry, in advance..."

"For what?"

"The people." He mumbled, grabbing her wrist and pulling her to the door. She linked her arm with his, unsure what she was getting herself into. She never noticed people out waiting on him but then again, they weren't waiting on her so how would she have noticed?

Once they stepped outside, she realized he was telling the truth. Did this many people simply want a picture of him? That was crazy to think about really. Once in the car which only took seconds it felt like. Harry let out a sigh, "Not too bad today."

"These girls must have never seen you in the morning." She teased and he couldn't fight the laughter that errupted from him.

"You're seriously a jerk, you know that right?" He replied, his smile showing off every dimple he possessed. She wasn't going to lie. She could see why girls swooned over him. If she simply saw him out and didn't know him she may do the same.

"Yep. But so are you so..."

He chuckled, "Maybe."

It didn't take long to arrive at a venue she had yet to go to. Which wasn't surprising. She had lived here a year but she was more kept to herself than one should be.

"So do you have a show here soon?"

"Yep, this weekend." He stated as he held the car door for her.

"We have a new album coming out soon. So we like to build up the momentum a bit." He added as they walked to the door of the venue.

"How cute."

He laughed as they walked in, the noise of people talking filled the room.

"Harry! Finally!" Someone shouted even though they were getting closer to the group that was basically doing nothing on the empty stage.

"Oye, you brought her, huh?" The boy named Niall stated in a normal voice now that they were all together.

"You made me." Harry stated as Niall stepped forward with a smile.

"I'm Niall. The cool one." He stated extending his hand to her and she chuckled, "I'm Londyn."

"Ah pleasure meeting you. Finally." He stated before dropping her hand.

"To be honest, I didn't think she existed." The dark haired boy she just noticed said as he fiddled with a guitar.

"Hey! Why?!" Harry asked in defense and he shrugged, "What girl can put up with you that long? I'm Zayn by the way. Nice to meet you."

"Are you not normal? What's wrong with you? You look normal but still..." The boy beside her asked as he stared at her weirdly.

"Louis! Back up from her!"

"You're seriously adorable." Londyn stated and the boy immediately shut up and blushed. She figured that would shut him up, but in reality he was. He looked like a cute little boy. Of course she wouldn't tell him that.

"Oh thanks."

The boys busted out laughing and Louis shot them a glare.

"That's all it took. I'm Liam by the way."

"Nice to meet you guys. Now continue. I would like to hear this." She stated sitting in the only chair by the side of the stage.

"Have you never heard us?" Zayn asked looking over at her and she shrugged, "I mean I hear Harry singing upstairs sometimes and if that's the engine of this operation I'm a bit worried."

The guys laughed as they got prepared to do a song.

"I like her." Niall stated with a smile and Harry rolled his eyes, "Mhm, glad someone does."

Sure she had heard them sing, she wasn't from Mars, but hearing them live was something else. Of course once she did she couldn't say anything bad. They deserved a good bit of credit actually, she couldn't deny that.

"Well, that was, pretty good actually."

"Just pretty good?" Liam asked chuckling as he tried to help pack things up.

"Ok, it was really good."

"Now go ahead and admit you fancy my singing more." Harry stated throwing his arm over her shoulders.

"Actually you ended the top 5. Sorry."

"You're joking, right?" He asked seriously as his eyes met hers. She couldn't help but laugh. Seeing him so serious tended to make her laugh.

"Yes. You all are good. Seriously."

His smile flashed across his face, clearly believing her words.

"Well, if we are done with that, I'm proper starving. Join us for lunch?" Niall asked and Zayn interjected, "Niall, buddy, no offense but you asked her here and now you are asking her to dinner. Maybe you are coming on a bit too strong." He teased patting the boy's shoulder.

"What are you talking about?! I'm just being polite unlike Harry who should be the one!" He defended.

"You act like I just met her!"

"Yeah! I already know he's an ass!" She chimed in and the group laughed besides Harry of course.

"Come on." She stated tugging on Harry's arm. He groaned as he let the girl pull him out with the guys.

"Where to?" She asked the blonde boy beside her.

"Ah, well there's a place down the way from here if you don't mind walking."

"Are we going to get attacked by girls?"

Liam laughed and turned around to face her, "If we hurry we won't."

"Hurry Harry." She said because he was laughing with Zayn and although their arms were now linked he was walking too slow for her.

"Don't you have an article to write?!"

"Oh my gosh! Crap!" She stated coming to a halt causing Harry to run into her slightly.

He grabbed a hold of her so she wouldn't fall all the while glaring at her like she did it on purpose.

"See, you made me forget." She accused him immediately and his mouth dropped open.

"How?!"

"Sorry guys, I really can't. I have a deadline at work." She said ignoring the boy's question.

"We are halfway there, Londyn!"

"So?! I know how to walk!"

"No." Harry replied stubbornly as he quickly grabbed the girl's hand and pulled her further down the sidewalk.

"Harry!"

"Londyn! You have to eat at some point during the day, so it may as well be now."

"Makes a point." Louis stated causing Niall to nod, "For once."

"And I promise we will go home after this." Harry said relaxing his hold on her hand now that he knew she wouldn't run away.

She groaned, "Fine. You're paying. It's the least you could do for crashing at my house two nights in a row."

"And I shall do just that!"

"Two nights?! For what?!" Louis asked loudly as they entered the restaurant.

"Hiding from that Savannah girl!"

"Londyn!" Harry hissed from beside her as they were seated.

"Seriously?" Niall asked in a tone that made Londyn question if Harry had went down this road before with this Savannah girl.

Harry rolled his eyes, "She's just crazy!"

"You really should give me a heads up on what I can and cannot talk about." She stated ignoring everything else.

"I mean, a small, hey before we leave..." She continued and his eyes met hers, "I get it."

"I mean..."

Harry immediately reached over and covered her mouth.

"You talk a lot when you are not tired."

"I have to make up for having to listen to you ramble when I'm too tired to object."

"Fair enough."

The pair laughed and she glanced around the table at the other guys who were carrying on their own conversations and laughing at whatever. Who knew Harry would actually have decent friends and be sort of cool outside of his apartment? She would definitely point that out when they were alone again.
