So Kiss Me Goodbye

Chapter 2

"You know, you didn’t have to punch him." I murmured, holding an ice pack to William’s eye.

"You didn’t have to bring me back here." He countered with a smirk.

I grinned at him sitting on the bathroom sink, his long legs mere inches from the floor.

The girl’s bathroom I might add; but it was doubtful many of them were coming in here at this time.

"What did you expect me to do? Leave you out there with a busted lip and black eye because of me?"

"He barely got me, and besides, you should’ve seen the other guy."

I couldn’t help but laugh a little. "Thanks for doing that. I don’t know exactly what would’ve happened if you hadn’t, despite the injuries."

He put his hand over the ice pack as well as my own hand. "It was worth it. Lilly right?"

I nodded.

"Do you mind if I ask you something?"

Yet another nod from me.

"Would you consider going on a date with me?"

Nothing in his face showed a hint of shyness; something I couldn’t help but find attractive.

There wasn’t much else to debate with in my mind, so my answer was pretty simple.

"I’d love to."

The smile that I had loved seeing all night reappeared.

Rummaging through my purse, I managed to find a napkin and a pen.

"Here." I murmured, handing over the napkin with my phone number written on it.

"Is this you trying to get rid of me?" He smirked playfully.

"Just trying to make sure when you realize your mistake you have no excuse not to call."

"I have no idea what your talking about." William said genuinely.

Leaning forward, he was mere inches from my lips when the worst thing happened.

A woman walked in the bathroom.

She stared at us, mid step, with eyes wide open, unblinking and judgmental.

Looking just at me, William had a look in his eye that could only be called mischievous.

Hopping down, he kissed my cheek.

"That was one hell of a fuck, babe. You get better every time… and on every surface."

With that he gave me a wink and walked out the door, though not before glancing at the woman’s face.

I swear it was a mixture of disgust and nausea like the world had never seen before.

Following suit, I met William just outside the door.

"That was… hilariously cruel." I finished not quite finding the right words. "But completely worth it."

"I couldn’t resist." Came his reply, ever grinning.

I was about to say more when my phone ringing stopped me.

"Hello?"

"Lilly! Do you have any idea what time it is?" My roommate Shelby cried into the phone.

"Uh…"

"It’s 2 a.m.! You have work in five hours."

Oh. Shit.

Hanging up my phone, I looked up at Will.

"I’m sorry to run out on you like this, but I really have to go."

His eyebrow rose.

"I’ve got work at seven, and its two right now. I’ve got an interview in the morning and my editor will kill me if I mess it up."

He nodded, escorting me to my car, thus ending our night with another kiss on the cheek.
