So Kiss Me Goodbye

Chapter 8

"Feeling any better?" Will asked, rubbing my back.

I nodded, taking a sip of my water.

"You sure? Cause you remember what happened last time you nodded and were wrong." He replied with a hint of laughter in his voice.

I glared at him sardonically. "Very funny."

He smiled warmly. "I'm kidding; it's my fault anyway for talking you onto the ride."

Shaking my head I said. "Not entirely, I didn't explain my motion sickness very well."

"Well I guess that funnel cake isn't gonna make up much huh?"

"I guess not." I answered, resting my head on his shoulder.

Will put his arm around me, twirling my hair lightly.

It was a sweet moment, ruined by Britney Spears 'Not Yet A Girl, Not Yet A Woman'.

What a mood killer.

He sighed, answering his ringing phone.

"Hey Pete... yeah, you are interrupting something... no, were not riding the hobby horse, you and your damn John Hughes references... yeah man, they're way sexy... Pete the show isn't for... oh crap you're right... stop answering everything like a cocky bastard, I'll be there in half an hour."

Will growled annoyed, shutting his Nokia.

"It looks like we've wasted too much time. The show's in two hours and sound checks in forty-five minutes."

I nodded. "Well then what are we waiting for? You've got to warm up and I've got to get ready."

Regrettably we walked away from the carnival and went on our way back to the apartment.

The car ride was quiet, but Will holding my hand while steering made up for it.

Arriving, we got out of the car, Will walking me up the steps.

What a gentleman.

"So I'll see you in two hours?" I asked, pulling out my key.

"Yeah, we'll play and then you'll come hang out with us afterward." He replied.

"Sounds great." I replied, leaning to kiss his cheek.

Will turned his head, catching my mouth with his.

What felt like hours was really barely a minute of us making out on my stoop.

Pulling away slightly breathless, he grinned.

"Can I expect that after the show?"

I touched my lips to his once more, grabbing the door handle behind me.

"Take that as a yes." I smiled, opening the door.

He grabbed my hand to stop me.

"I almost forgot." He said, digging in the back pocket of his tight jeans. "Here."

In the hand I was holding he shifted an envelope into.

"You're passes, along with an extra in case you want to invite Shelby or someone."

"Aw thanks." I replied, kissing him again.

His lips lingered as I pulled away, obviously disappointed.

Pecking them once more he grinned. "I'll see you in two hours."

I smiled back. "You'll see me in the audience I promise."

I wandered through the door, both of us slowly leaving.

My lips still tingled as I got back to the apartment, collapsing on the couch.

From out of nowhere a body landed on top of me.

"Did you get lucky?"

"You wish." I replied, shoving Shelby off.

Smirking devilishly, she replaced herself on the couch. "You might as well tell me what happened; you know I'll get it out of you."

Indignantly I crossed my arms.

Five minutes later I had spilled the whole story.

"Wait a minute, you threw upin front of him?" She gasped.

"Yeah." I nodded, my face buried in the pillow.

At first a few giggles slipped out, more and more till she was in a fit of laughter.

"Hey, it wasn't that funny." I shot at her as she continued to laugh.

I sighed in annoyance.

"You know, if you keep this up I might change my mind about taking you with me."

She stopped mid-giggle.

"You're gonna take me with you to the show?" Shelby asked breathless.

"Yeah, Will gave me an extra ticket."

She thought for a moment. "But what will I wear?"

I swear I'm gonna finish this story tonight.
When I'm feeling down I need to work, so this helps... a lot.
Oh if I posted any oneshots would you read them?
