Status: My latest masterpiece. An old story remodelled.

The World Beyond Me.

Chapter One.

The air was calm and cool around her as she walked slowly along the pathway, religiously following the footsteps of her step-mother, father and brother in front of her. Their steps seemed to be in total sync compared to her clumsy, airy choreography. They all seemed the perfect family when she looked at them; the perfect family excluding her.

Her hair blew away from her face slowly, tickling her cheeks softly like children’s fingers. Whispers in the wind made her smile gently, her face lighting up like a new moon amongst a stormy blue sky – or maybe a splash of sunshine in the greyness of the hovering clouds above her, the same colour as her eyes.

“Adelaide.”

Her head jolted up suddenly. Her step-mother was staring at her with those cold, animalistic brown eyes speckled with a seething gold. Annie’s pointed nose seemed to stab her in the stomach.

“Yes,” Adelaide whispered, despising the name she was attached to since the moment Annie walked into their lives.

“Keep up, child. And don’t drag your feet; you’ll scuff them all up.”

Adelaide nodded obediently, eyes fixed to the floor in a submissive manner. How she longed to stand up and say that her name wasn’t Adelaide but Bahari Adelaide Cookson. How she longed to step off that pavement and relish in the rebelliousness of walking on the road leading to their home in Huntington Beach, Orange County, California.

As soon as they reached their three-bedroomed, ordinary house in St David’s cul-de-sac, Adelaide was sent straight to her room, like her brother, and forced to stay there until dinner was served. Another thing Adelaide loathed; the military torture of each given day.

Sat on her spinning chair, Adelaide stared out at the evening through her window. The world seemed so much better beyond the thick, manicured hedges surrounding the complex of their garden and house. Everything seemed so much livelier, more rebellious, more like the rock-songs she secretly revelled in.

Adelaide sighed loudly. If only.

So this is a repost and remaster of a story I took down a while ago. Trying to find my inspirations again. This is now an original fiction.

I will also be posting on my Avenged Sevenfold Fanfiction website under the same name, DobbyTheHobbit.

I currently have plenty of updates for both sites, and some other things that aren't on either of these sites. Let me know what you think, and check out my other site :)

Lots of love,
Dobby xxx
