Leave a message and I'll call you back I'm walking into spiderwebs

Harley narrowed her eyes as James ripped the strap of her bra, and he couldn't help but throw a smirk her way. In turn she ripped open the front of his dress shirt, sending buttons flying. James muttered and pushed her back into the counter in her kitchen, his lips against her neck. Harley tilted her head back to look at the ceiling and let out the smallest of sighs that only made James smirk against the skin of her neck.

He knew she wasn't paying attention so he let his teeth graze over her skin, pressing gently into the flesh of her shoulder. This brought Harley back to his attention immediately, she instantly dug her nails into his back and told him, "Teasing isn't very nice."

"If I'm not supposed to tease you then I'm gonna have have to ask you to do the same." James stated, making Harley smile innocent and push out from around him.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Harley told him, barely making it to the bedroom before he caught up to her. James pressed against her back, hands on her hips to keep her tight against him.

"Keep these damn shorts where they are from now on." James told her as he unbuttoned the denim shorts she wore just because she knew he loved them. He shoved them past her hips and Harley watched as they hit the floor and pooled at her feet.

"Now this is hardly fair. You have way too much clothing on." Harley stated, and when he he wouldn't let her move she pushed her butt back into his crotch, distracting him just long enough to wiggle out of his grasp and turn around.

She ran her hands up his stomach, across his chest, and she pushed his shirt down his arms and it pooled on the floor beside her shorts. James watched as she got onto the bed, on her knees, and pulled him close to her with the belt that was holding up his dress pants. When he leaned down to connect their lips Harley worked on his dress pants, belt first, then the button, and then the zipper. If you asked her there were far too many obstacles involved with taking dress pants off, she was inclined to voice this, among the fact that she thought from now on he shouldn't be allowed to wear pants in her apartment but she was kept silent when he ran his hands through the length of her hair, before his hands pressed against the small of her back. She smiled gently as one hand 'slipped' down past her waist and over her butt, and when he squeezed she let out a noise James wasn't sure he could put a name to, but whatever it was, he hoped he could make her do it again and again.

Pulling herself back into reality Harley pushed his pants down, and James stepped out of them when they fell to the floor and he practically tackled Harley to the bed. She let out a laugh that he silenced with his lips as he tangled one hand in her long hair, giving it the tiniest of tugs. When he pulled back he ran his index finger along the top of her bra, nearly touching her skin, and he looked at her and asked with a dorky smile on his face, "What was the question again?"

Harley giggled, and moved beneath him, making James put a hand in the middle of her stomach, he pushed down gently to get her to stop moving. They had attempted to finish their game of twenty questions that they had started before he had left for their road trip during her birthday. Harley was beginning to wonder if they could even have a conversation that didn't result in them literally ripping the clothes off each other.

"I don't remember. But I do have a new one for you. Where'd you learn to do that thing with your tongue?" Harley asked, laughing when James looked down at her, eyebrow cocked, a smirk across his lips. He leaned down, pressed his lips against the spot he discovered just under her ear by her jaw, ran his tongue against her skin before pulling back. Harley narrowed her eyes, "Tease."

"In the back of a car when I was 16." James deadpanned, Harley rolled her eyes at him and he couldn't help but laugh. She would her arms around his neck and grabbed a fist full of the hair at the back of his head, tugging on it in the same fashion he had to hers minutes before. Finally he told her the truth, "Sarah Caplan."

"Don't tell me you have a thing for last names with C's." Harley teased, making James flash her a smile and she was sure that smile got him in trouble a lot. At the very least she knew it was going to get her in trouble.

"I dated her for a year and a half when I was in Pittsburgh." James told her, making Harley look up at him with soft eyes.

"You don't have to tell me." She told him seriously, she didn't mind, but she also didn't want him to think he needed to tell her everything about his past.

"I know about your ex. You should know about mine." James said, shifting so his weight was more on her lower body than the rest of her, and he leaned down to press a quick and soft kiss to her chest, right above her breast. She ran the nail of her index finger up and down the length of his upper arm, before she kissed his shoulder very gently. James smiled at the gesture, and he felt her move so she could run one of the heels of her feet down his calf gently.

"Did you love her?" Harley asked him curiously.

"Enough to buy a ring." James told her honestly, looking up to see her shocked expression. He smiled and joked, "Don't look so shocked, I am capable of domestication."

"I have yet to see that." Harley said, laughing when he dug his fingers into her sides.

She kicked her legs, getting nowhere, she was out of breath, and there were tears poking out of the corners of her eyes from laughing so hard by the time James stopped tickling her. She looked up at him, and before she could say anything else James pressed his lips against hers hard. A smirk on his lips, pressed against hers and his hand reaching under her to unclasp her bra with two fingers, and just like that they were back where they started.

Harley dropped into her seat between Emma and Kelly at the Bridgestone Arena just in time for puck drop. She let out a sigh and Emma watched her curiously. Kelly however held out her left hand and tapped her watch with a smirk, Harley simply shook her head and tried to blink away the tiredness. It wasn't working.

"You were supposed to be here twenty minutes ago." Emma said, half joking, half just plain curious.

Harley shrugged her shoulders, "Slept in."

"I don't think I ever remember a time where you slept in..." Kelly told her, more interested in her reason than anything else.

"Well I spent the afternoon in a very comfortable bed and someone didn't wake me before they left." Harley told her honestly, raising her eyebrow as Emma let out a little yell of excitement, which was nearly drowned out in the crowd when Shea hit someone into the boards and made the glass rattle. Harley knew Emma would pretend that yell was for him.

Once the excitement wore down Emma turned to Harley with a grin, and exclaimed, "So you and James really are a thing."

"Shea really needs to learn to keep his mouth shut." Harley muttered, not realizing until Emma gave her forearm a squeeze what she had really said. She sighed, "Damnit. I'm really bad at this whole secret keeping thing. It's why I don't leave the bar."

Kelly let out a laugh, "You don't leave the bar because you're a workaholic."

Shaking her head Harley told her, "Not true. I don't leave the bar because I'm a friendless workaholic loser."

"Oh honey, you're not friendless." Emma said with a grin, making all three of them laugh. It wasn't long before Nashville scored and the arena erupted, Harley was sure she would never get used to the noise in this arena when the Predators scored. Emma nudged her, pointed to the jumbotron where James' name was lit up for an assist. Emma smirked and said, "Your boy."

Harley rolled her eyes and told Emma, "He's not my anything."

"You keep telling yourself that." Emma mused, and when Harley raised her eyebrow at her Emma shrugged and said, "I'm just saying that you two spend a lot of time together. He's slept at your place, you've slept at his. I mean he left you alone in his house today so you could get more sleep."

"Your point?" Harley asked, already knowing what her point was, she just didn't want to admit it herself.

Emma turned to look at her and told her, "My point is, you two are way more than just friends with benefits."

"I wouldn't go so far as to say we're friends." Harley stated.

"Where's he from?" Emma asked, smirking when Harley shrugged as if she wasn't sure.

"Ontario."

Kelly this time asked, "How old is he?"

"27. Age is a sore subject you know." Harley told them, making both of them roll their eyes.

"It's three years, get over it girl. Siblings?" Emma responded, making Harley sigh loudly.

"I don't know... We haven't really gotten to that part of the sharing yet." Harley told them, fiddling with her jeans.

Kelly smirked, "And what have you been doing to keep that part of it from coming up?"

Harley's face flushed, which told the two younger women what they needed. Harley shook her head and told them, "So we get...distracted when we try and finish our twenty questions game. My bad."

"Such a bad thing." Emma said with a knowing smirk.

"Now that I never said."

James wasn't surprised to walk out of the locker room to find Harley was already gone, she'd shown up that was the best he could ask for at this point. Still he was slightly disappointed, and when Emma approached him on her way to Shea he had to admit he was a little nervous. He wasn't sure whether Harley had told her, or if Shea had, and he had no idea what she might say to him.

She simply reached up and hugged him gently, "Good game."

"Thanks. Aren't you supposed to be hugging the captain over there?" James asked with a smile, Emma laughed and shook her head.

"He can wait, five minutes won't kill him." Emma stated, dismissing it with a wave of her hand that made James laugh. Emma looked up at him and told him, "She didn't want to stay."

"I figured." He said with a nod.

"The idea of being back here...waiting for someone else... she's a little nervous about it. I think she said something about waiting for you at your place, so as the good friend I am I'm gonna ask you to hurry up so she doesn't freeze her ass off." Emma told him with a grin, and just like that she was moving past him.

James watched her wrap her arms around Shea and kiss him, before he turned away and dug his keys out of his pocket, picking up his pace just a bit to get to his car faster. He made it back to his place in record time, he had stopped having to use a GPS, a combination of making that drive nearly every day, and Harley's impressive way of turning a two and a half hour running session from hell into an informative tour. She really did make a good tour guide.

He pulled into the driveway beside her car, cut the engine and looked up to find her sitting on his porch. She looked up, smiled, and with that James got out of the car, locked it behind him and joined her at the door. She slid her hand underneath his arm, pressing it against his back and told him, "You played good."

James turned to her and smiled as he pushed the door open, "I try."

She laughed and shook her head, "So humble."

James wrapped his arms around her chest from behind, placed his face into the crook of her neck, kissing her skin before he told her, "You should come to all my games, I'm beginning to think this good luck charm is a real thing."

Harley grinned at him and pulled out of his grasp, making her way up the stairs toward his bedroom. James watched her, hips swaying, for only a moment before he was up the stairs and following her. He couldn't even force the smile off his face if he tried, and he wasn't sure he even cared to.
