Somewhere Only We Know

84: My Girls

“Just one more push Ariana” Penelope Williams mused as she peeked at the brunette, a small encouraging smile on her face. They had been at it for hours, like with Violeta, the new baby Casillas wasn’t overly keen on making an appearance, but at last she was on her way, even if she was a week and a half overdue, she was finally about to arrive.

“One more?” Ariana whimpered as she clung onto Iker’s hand, trying desperately not to cry. It had been hours, 17 to be precise, and the brunette was exhausted. She had assumed her second birth would be easier than the first, but thus far, it had proved even tougher than when she had given birth to Violeta. The little girl was stubborn and seemed intent on staying put.

“Come on Ari” Iker cooed gently as he leant close to her, his hand softly brushing some of her sweaty hair away from her warm face. He hated seeing it, Ariana crying and yelling, but he knew that it would be worth it. In a few short minutes, they would have their little baby and all of the pain would be behind them.

“Easy for you to say” Ariana grumbled as yet another contraction worked through her “You’re not pushing a fully grown baby out of you” she hissed, her hand swatting for him. Iker smiled softly and ducked, avoiding contact before he pressed a little kiss to her forehead. “Come on, mi amor” he whispered gently.

Ariana grumbled weakly before she closed her eyes, pushing with all her might before a soft whimper filled the room, allowing her to rest back softly against the mattress.

“Iker, Ariana, congratulations. You have a beautiful little girl” Penelope mused as she moved to wrap the little girl up, handing her over to a nurse who proceeded to clean her up.

Iker watched the two doctors for a moment before he turned back to Ariana, offering her a soft smile as he leant down, pressing a soft kiss to her lips. “Did you hear that Ari?” he whispered softly as he brushed some hair away from her eyes “a beautiful little girl” he mused gently.

Ariana shook her head. “You knew it was a girl” she mumbled tiredly.

Iker nodded. They had found out months ago that it was another little girl, but still it made Iker grin to hear it aloud. He loved the idea of being a father to another little girl. “I know, but it still amazes me” he whispered as he allowed his dark eyes to peek over at the nurse who was softly cleaning their newborn. She was small, smaller than Iker remembered babies being, but his arms were already itching to hold her. She was the most beautiful sight to him in that moment and he couldn’t wait to tell her. She was sure to be the perfect addition to his little family.

“Are you guys ready to meet your little girl?” Penelope mused as she adjusted the little woolen hat that had been placed on the infant’s head.

Iker smiled and nodded his head, his brown eyes stinging a little as they rested on the little girl who moved softly in Penelope’s arms.

Penelope flashed him a small smile before she set the little girl in his arms. “Do you have a name for her yet?” she posed as she watched Iker with the baby. He looked made up, beyond happy, and Penelope was thrilled for him, and for Ariana who was softly peeking over his shoulder at their little girl.

“Ari?” Iker murmured, his eyes hesitantly pulling away from their little girl.

“Gabriella” the brunette mused as she rested her head on his shoulder, her teary blue eyes staring down at the little girl “Gabriella Rose Casillas” she mused.

Penelope smiled gently and nodded her head, leaving the pair in peace.

“She’s gorgeous” Iker whispered as he stared down at Gabriella. She was tiny, delicate, and Iker couldn’t believe that she was his. She was just too beautiful.

“She looks like you” Ariana mused.

Iker chuckled. “We’re not having this debate again amor, our little girls take after their beautiful mother and I have no doubt about it” he mused softly.

“Talking of our little girls, we should get Sergio and Pilar” Ariana mused “I would love for Violeta to meet her baby sister” she added with a tender smile. It had amazed her, Violeta adored the idea of being a big sister, and she couldn’t wait to introduce the 1-year-old to her little sister. She was sure that she would love Gabriella.

Iker hummed gently before he passed Gabriella to Ariana, allowing him to move to his feet. “I will go and fetch them” he mused softly before he pressed a little kiss to both Gabriella and Ariana’s heads, a small smile playing on his lips. It amazed him, the idea that he was now a father for the second time, and he couldn’t believe just how beautiful Gabriella was. She looked just like Ariana and that made Iker glad.

All three of his girls were stunning.

“Mama!” Violeta mused as she toddled into the hospital room, her chubby little arms extended to her mother. It had been hours, the little girl had been stuck in the reception area with Sergio and Pilar for far too long, and she just wanted her mother. Violeta was quite a mummy’s girl and Ariana knew it irked Iker. He had been so certain that she would be his little princess.

“Lettie” Iker mused as he followed along behind her, his hands lifting her so that he could balance her on his hip “You need to be quiet princesa, the new baby is sleeping” he mused as he gently smoothed out her soft waves of dark hair.

Violeta looked up at her father and pouted. “Mama!” she squeaked again.

“Princesa, por favor” he whispered “Your baby sister is trying to sleep” he added.

Violeta wrinkled her nose a little before she turned her head, her big brown eyes staring at her mother. Ariana smiled gently and beckoned Iker over, collecting Violeta from his arms. “You have to be quiet Lettie” she whispered as she gently set the toddler in her lap “Gabriella is trying to sleep and you don’t want to make her cry” she added. Violeta’s brown eyes widened before she nodded her head, mumbling a gently sorry to her mother who merely kissed her head in response.

Iker, who stood a little away from them, smiled gently, his eyes admiring the sight of his girls all in one place. It was a little hard to believe, he had thought for sure that Ariana and he wouldn’t end up together, but he was pleased that they had, even if it had been one hell of ride, he was pleased that they had made it as far as they had. Ariana was the best thing that had ever happened to him and because of her, he had two beautiful little girls that he adored, something he would forever be grateful to her for. Ariana had made his life better than he had thought it could be and he would never tire of thanking her. She was all that he would ever want.
