Baby Steps

Prologue

She wanted me to chase her. I told her that I couldn't.

She wanted me to find her. I proclaimed that I wouldn't.

_____

Far be it from me to beg her to stay, she knew what she wanted and it wasn't what I could offer.

It wasn't what I had given her.

She wanted her freedom; felt she was "too young" and had "too much ahead to experience" for this kind of responsibility. I can't say I blame her for being honest.

All in all, I guess I can't really blame her at all. What she did wasn't right.

But what she did gave me you. And for that, I will always be thankful.
