Gruelling tasks of cleaning. It started to become just a meaningless mundane task that wastes away the day, and any other time to do something worthwhile. Not that it was ever fun anyway in the first place, but the members of Captain Levi's squad seemed to be used to it now. Eren, whom had joined along side them not all that long ago, hadn't. He knew that hygiene was indeed an important factor of living to stay healthy, and keep the environment around a person at ease in some retrospect... But this... He glared down at the wooden handled mop in his right hand. This was relentless. Eren thought he'd cleaned the same floor 20 times over and it still wasn't 'good enough'. What's the point? The thoughts within his head screamed that if he was stuck in here cleaning, havoc could be happening elsewhere where he can't be with Titans causing destruction - and the more time he spends cleaning and doing nothing to plan to fight against them... Is more precious time lost.

Before Eren knew it, he'd been just glaring at the floor and doing nothing but let his thoughts and ideas consume him. Frowning, he let go of the mop and let it collapse to the floor with a hollow thud. It echoed around the empty room that to Eren, seemed clean. Although he was sure Captain Levi would beg to differ. A chill filled the room that wasn't there prior to Eren zoning out within his own thoughts. Upon surveying the room in a clockwise manner starting from one corner of the room, to the window - to check if it was open - right around again to the door... The open door. With someone standing with their straightened back resting against the wooden door frame. "Well?" He questioned, without a change in his monotonous expression wiped over his face. "Why'd you drop it?" His eyes locked on Eren, showing no sign on deterring from that gaze. Despite his small and slim figure on the outside, Captain Levi was unbelievably strong, somewhat threatening in most cases, and has the emotional range of someone who wants to kill a man to, completely berserk mad. In other words, it's a rare sight to ever see Levi smiling. Eren frowned once again at the mop on the floor, thinking he would be made to re-do the already clean room, or made to do some other cleaning elsewhere. "Not bad." Levi muttered, his gaze finally moving across the room to scan it. "I could've done a better job but you're still a bratty kid." He sighed and lifted his back away from the door frame and turned to walk away down the hall. "Good job, pack it up now." He called back to Eren, waving one hand over his shoulder.

Eren's face lightened up, he could finally stop the mundane task and go do something else, anything else. Even listen to Hanji's rants about the Titan experiments they were carrying out at the present time. He didn't care, anything else apart from cleaning. He grabbed the mop from the floor, hopped over to the wall to grab the nearby bucket of water and made his way out of the stuffy room. A smile lingered on his lips as he nonchalantly paced up the hall to the storage for all the cleaning supplies, a hint of pride in his walk shone through. Captain Levi was actually happy with what Eren had done. It meant a great deal to the young teen, as his Captain was someone he admired and aspired to be like in some form. Even although Eren went through great ordeals to get to where he was now, in a castle far out from everything else with people he hardly knew compared to his childhood friends, away from his biological family. He was just happy to be here now. Eren carefully opened up the door to the storage only to be taken by shock from a loud and piercing noise. Incredibly loud beeping blocked out any other noises, it curled around his ears and made his head throb. Eren grit his teeth and watched as his vision started to fade to black. "Wh-What the-" He snarled at the noise, doing nothing but all he could do... Stand where he was and watch as his vision faded.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

The noise didn't stop, he wanted it to stop, someone make it stop. Eren coughed loudly and lifted his head. The room was a pale coloured room, without much in it other than a desk with a computer on it, a dresser and some other objects. Angrily, he turned his head to the side to see a black alarm clock screaming at him with red lights flashing the time. 7:00am. Eren groaned and reached over to turn the alarm off, ceasing the piercing noise. Theoretically he was annoyed that he'd been woken up, but what made it worse was that it was a Saturday, and he was awake far too early than he would have probably liked. Eren sat up, as the peaceful air about his bedroom calmed his senses down, allowing his ears and overall hearing adjust to the quiet room. Now fully awake from the death-screaming alarm clock he'd purchased a while back, he let out a deep sigh and rubbed his eyes with both hands. Even although he was back in a place he knew well and felt safe in - the contents of his dreams while in a sleeping lucid state, concerned him. He'd been having dreams of the same people in the same place during the same - shall we say- struggle. Eren let out a small breath, almost like a snigger. "Titans..." He mumbled to himself, pulling both his hands away from his eyes and resting them on the duvet covering him. "How silly."

-

A cool breeze of air hit Eren's face as he turned away from his front door after locking it. The weather was humid, but wasn't too cold. Seemed just right to the 20 year old. He smiled to himself and started to walk up the street. He lived close by the main street of the centre so there was no need to fuss about with public transport if you needed to anything central such as the main shops, bus and train station, some small parks among other things. Even although the town seemed very small to some, it was a widely populated area and attracted a varied demograph of people. It was strange for a seaside town to be so popular. Most other sea side towns Eren had visited were small and seemed like close-knit communities. In a way he liked that this town wasn't just the close-knit community where everyone knew everyone. You were always likely to see or even meet new people within the town, and that was something that was always an appeal to Eren. He turned up a street to his right, away from the central part of town. He was just popping out for some essentials at the shop, even although he had limited money due to the disappearance of his wallet a day prior to now. Just in front of his gaze, past some rows of houses on a down-sloping hill he could see the blue sea. This road was his favourite. The view you get from the top of the road enables you to look straight and see everything. Again it's times like this where Eren liked living here, he liked the area, the people and the fact that his friends lived not too far away in other towns, it was perfect for him. Eren smiled and continued to walk forward, the shop being on the next corner he could get his essentials and go back home for a relax. Being at college tired him out during the week, and by Saturday he just wanted to stay in bed for 10,000 years. It's a win/lose situation. At college 3 days a week working on his off days and half of one of his college days, as apposed to 5 days a week at college, but it tires you out by the weekend as much as a 5 day week would.

Eren waved as he left the shop. "Thank you!" He beamed at the girl at the counter and began to walk back up the hill towards his house. The angle he was walking up at was a strain on his legs, and made the walk back a little longer than it might be during the week. But as long as he got back and just did some things that would help him relax, he didn't care about the dull pain in his legs.

-

Placing the bag on the counter in his kitchen, he turned to see his home phone flashing green at a slow rate. "Hm.." He muttered and leaned over to check it. "Missed call..." He said confusingly to himself, he didn't know anyone who would call him on his house phone apart from his family, the college or his work. But the caller ID was a number he didn't recognize, a mobile number. Sighing he pressed the button to play back the voicemail that was left. The computerized voice went through the normal sequence of saying how many voicemails there were and what time it was left at. Eren started to unpack the bag as the voicemail played.

"Hi, I apologise for the random phone call, and I hope you get this message." Eren frowned at the voice, turning to look at the phone. "I just happened to find your wallet on a chair in a cafe in town, and thought I should do the right thing and return it. Sorry for looking through it, I needed to find an address to return this to and I doubt the police would do anything." Eren continued to frown, at this point his mouth was slightly open. "I'm on my way to return it to you, if you're not in I'll slide it through any letter box you may have. Just pre-warning you, if you get this in time that is. Okay, um... That's all. Funny, I've heard your name before somewhere. Probably just a really odd coincidence. Have a good day! Bye." The end of message tone played as Eren felt his heart sink. He recognized the voice from somewhere, anywhere. It sounded so calm, and even though they were saying things like having a nice day, it sounded dull. He racked his thoughts of where he'd heard it before. That dream. Probably stupid coincidences.

Eren pressed an 'x' button to delete the message and continued to unpack his things, putting them away in the kitchen cupboards and other places. He pre-occupied himself with other tasks after doing so, unable to get the voice from the phone out the back of his head. "Ugh." He groaned and looked about to see what he could do. Nothing but relax. Maybe. Taking a glance back at the kitchen he realized it could do with a bit of cleaning, it could help him just forget about things for a little bit at least. 'Eren Jaeger, domestic god' he thought of the title in his head and laughed on the way to the utility cupboard. Eren talked to himself as he pulled out a mop from the cupboard. "I think if I'm a domestic god, what he hell is Captain going to b-" His words caught in his throat. Shock covering his body and freezing his actions. "Shut up." He growled at himself, "Shut up, Eren. Don't talk. You're trying to make dreams reality, it's stupid." He started to move again, pulling a spray out of the cupboard along with the mop. It's true that the past while his dreams started feeling more real. As if he'd been accustomed and lived in this previous life well before his existence. It sounded so incredibly stupid in his rational bit of his mind. But every time he thought about it, his heart raced and he thought about something he'd read online every time. Something about the people you see in dreams, the faces, are people you've seen in real life. You can never dream of faces that you've never seen before. And that's when the other part of Eren's mind battles against his rational side. There's no way that could ever happen, apart from some reincarnation theory, which Eren didn't believe in at all. He pushed forward and started his lazy cleaning around the kitchen. Truth was, he didn't really care all that much about cleaning but ever since he had moved out and started living on his own, the urge to clean crept up and he does it when necessary. Sure he had chores in his family home, but on your own you have everything to do yourself. Even if the house was a tiny place, the work load builds up and Eren knew his parents and adopted sister Mikasa weren't around in this place to help. Sighing, he bent over and rested his forehead on the top of the mop that was standing up vertically. He let his thoughts gather for a moment and let the image of this so-called Captain sink away and fade out from his thoughts. He smiled to himself. "Coincidences are so fucked up."

Eren lifted his head up, bringing his left hand along with him. A dome-shaped indent was left on the centre of his forehead from the round handle of his mop. Frowning again, he kept a small smile on his face... Simple things amuse simple minds he thought to himself. It was true. Very odd-simple things amused Eren to no extent. Lost in his own head, Eren was startled by the loud knock at his front door in the room next to him. The abruptness made him drop the loosely held mop, making it fall to the ground with a hollow plonk. Kicking it to the side, he stretched out and started walking into his front room, letting the air pockets in his arms pop and subsided the current strain in his left arm. Returning back to a normal stance, he reached the door to open it with his right hand. The door clunked and clicked at the turn of the handle, letting a little bit more light into Eren's field of view. He let his eyes adjust to the brightness difference and looked at the person at the door. He swore for a split second his heart had stopped. "Er... Hi." The smaller, dark haired man in front of him mumbled, a monotonous expression across his face. Eren didn't even dare speaking, he was taken aback by what he was seeing, he didn't want to believe it. But, he knew this person somehow.

~~~
Levi glared at his mobile phone, trying to work out what streets to turn down and where to go. A part of him was nervous, a part of him didn't care. But he knew all too well that he'd heard the name Eren Jaeger before, he knew him. The photo ID of a Student College card confirmed that. Although Levi would like to think this was all a muck up and he didn't know this youth at all. Levi's gps on his phone indicated that the last house on the very small 4-house street was the owner of the wallet he had found while going for lunch at a local cafe. The blue line on his phone faded away as his phone thought he had reached the house. "Tch, stupid phone." Levi grumbled at the device in his hand and stuffed it back into his jacket pocket. The cold breeze that was sweeping across the open street hit Levi with full force, causing him to shudder and push his cold hands deep into his pockets. He felt the cold a lot more than most people - and he hated it. Upon reaching the small house, he sighed and pulled out the wallet he'd been holding onto since he'd left the cafe back in the centre of town. Pausing for a second he took a deep breath in, and then knocked three times on the door. The knock was loud enough, the feeling across his knuckles told him so. Levi waited approximately 10 seconds before the white door clunked and clicked open, showing who he hoped to be the owner of the wallet in his hand. The younger boy answered the door, scrunching his face up at first, but his expression changed to what looked like shock. In complete honestly, Levi could feel his chest tighten at the sight of him. "Er... Hi." Levi mumbled, his gaze not moving from the boy's wide eyes. The air had turned from calm to awkward in split seconds, the silence between the two was deadly, and you could cut the atmosphere with a knife. "I... Um." Levi coughed lightly and looked down at his hand holding the khaki green wallet. "I think this is yours E.." He paused, looking back up to the boy's face. "Eren..." He sighed, the soundness of the name rolled off of Levi's tongue with ease. As if he'd said the name many times before, and felt accustomed to it. Eren noticeably twitched as soon as his name was spoken. There's no doubt in the fact that these two knew each other. Whether it be from a previous time where Levi was Eren's superior, or just from somewhere they happen to not remember.
Eren signalled for him to come inside. Unsure, Levi tilted his head slightly in a confused manner. "Levi... Just... Come in for a minute. I-it's cold." Eren forced out his voice. Levi could hear how it rattled in his throat, laced with a nervous tone... It made him smirk ever so slightly. The nervous nature of the boy, and the fact that he spoke his name with ease. "I-I'm sorry, is that your name?" Eren stuttered as Levi took steps into his home. The smirk still lingered at the sides of Levi's mouth as he fully stepped past the door frame and into the front room, he nodded and took a small scan around the room. He was surprised at the state of the place, not like most student's homes where it's seen to be mish mashed and unkept. Although that may just be a stereotype that Levi had ridden into the back of his head, this place was actually kept nice. "Sorry, I. I don't know why I knew your name. It's... Hard to explain." Eren mumbled behind Levi as the sound of clicking once again filled the room.
Levi sniffed, his nose running from the coldness that had hit him. "I have time." He handed the wallet back over to Eren, who accepted it with a thankful nod. Levi, over the past little while, started to think more upon the dreams he'd had. Being this boy's Captain in a world where Titans tried to destroy humanity. It seemed delirious. However, Levi being determined at things looked into it and heard stories of a great force that tried to wipe out humanity a great number of years before the present day. But it's just stories as to what this great force was. It was similar to the dreams. Levi couldn't get the image that he'd had a few days prior to the current situation he was in out of his head. The boy, Eren, being a recently graduated Trainee in some force against the Titans and himself, being the Captain of a squad within a group called the Survey Corps... Being involved with each other. Levi screwed up his face at the thoughts in his head. "Listen, Jaeger." He turned on his heels to face the red faced boy. "How did you feel living in the walls."
Eren's expression flooded with a mixed range of emotions. Mostly shock and confusion. "I- You... But... " He stuttered, raising a hand to scratch his head.
"Maria, Rose and Sina." Levi stated almost instantly. "Don't tell me you don't know what I'm talking about because you know fine well what I'm talking about." His voice sounding a little more brash and distressed.
A wave of heat washed over Eren as he visually scrambled to try piece together his thoughts. "That-... How did you..." He stuttered once more, his hands now slightly shaking. "I had dreams of it. How did you..." Eren frowned, looking at Levi with angered and confused eyes. "What do you mean how did I feel?"
Levi acted out of character from his normal self. He grabbed Eren's collar, pulling him down to eye level with himself and growled at him. "What do you think I mean you little brat. Don't tell me this is all some hilarious coincidence. You know my name without me even telling you it. As soon as I saw your name and picture on your ID I recognized you. And you just there said something about dreams. Not to mention the way you jolted when I said the wall's names." Levi let go of Eren, who recoiled back instantly in defence. "Sorry. I just think it's a little too good to be true just to be some figment of both our imaginations." The smaller man sighed, pushing back the small bangs that hung down his face back off of his face. "I'll take my leave." He hung his head low and stepped back towards the door. He started to think maybe it was some once in a lifetime coincidence and he was overthinking it too much. He wanted a resolve to it, one he couldn't find. So he thought up the impossible and forced it upon others to come to a conclusion for the thoughts in his head. In some way, Levi felt betrayed by his own mind. This part of him thought up a whole life and lay it out to him in dreams, which he mistook for some form of memory. Not to mention that the recent thought of being involved with a young boy named Eren Jaeger who just so happened to look, and have the same name of the person next to him... It's coincidence. That's all it is.
Eren pushed his hand against the front door instantly, stopping the door from being opened. "Wait." He yelped as he received a cold glare from Levi. "Wait. Please. I'm just as confused as you are. Maybe, if we explain it a bit clearer to each other it'll get sorted out and we can all just think it's silly and continue with life... Right?" Levi grumbled and stepped back from the door. "Right. I'll make something to drink. You like black tea don't y-" Eren stopped the words in their tracks, covering his mouth with one hand. "I'll make some tea." He mumbled through his fingers and walked away from Levi.
~~
Eren coughed into his cup, choking slightly on the liquids running down his throat. "Y-You what?!" He wheezed through a cough and looked at Levi's unchanging face. "What do you mean 'involved'?!" Eren questioned, a still nervous tone running through his vocal chords as he placed the cup back down. He'd had a similar image in his head. Him and his Captain started liking each other and got involved with one another. It sounded exactly the same as what Levi had just told him about. He looked calm and collected while telling the story, a small red flush over his face. Levi took a small sip of the tea Eren had made him... 'He even holds the cup the same way.' Eren thought to himself, assessing the man's actions through his own panicked actions.
Placing the cup back down on the coffee table in front of him, Levi blankly stared at Eren. "I explained it well enough, did I not?" The small flush of red over his cheeks remained. "Or do I have to explain it ag-"
"No! It's quite fine!" Eren waved his hands in front of him, signalling for Levi to stop talking. "It's fine! It's fine! I get it." He hastily rushed his words, a nervous laughter slipping through his lips. Possibilities of what they were both experiencing built up inside Eren's head, periodically coming to light one after another. The most absurd idea was that these were memories of some sort. Eren shook his head, gaining an odd look from Levi next to him. None of them actually understood what was going on, and Eren was sure that both of them wanted to know the truth in some way or another.
Levi sighed and pulled slightly at the collar of his pale shirt. "Well, I for one have my suspicions. I can't quite recall ever having vivid memories of things in such detail other than from within the Walls." His voice was soothing and calm to Eren, and he spoke in a confident manner, talking about 'the walls' as if he were there. "Something triggered as soon as I saw your student ID. Is there not something like that happened when you saw myself?" Levi questioned, resting both of his elbows onto his jeans. Eren couldn't reply, he knew as soon as the voice on the phone started speaking he could feel his chest tighten and his heart race beneath his ribcage. Shock recognition of Levi's voice. Eren closed his eyelids tight and let his fingers dig into the palm of his hands. He didn't want to believe it. Reality was, the dark haired man sat inches away from his made his heart race and images of a Captain Levi flood his brain - and as long as he had that image in his head, both his heart and mind refused to release him from what he sees as torment. "Tell me Eren, do you have a non-biological sister named Mikasa, and a friend called Armin?" Levi questioned again. Eren's eyes opened widely, his heart racing a little faster. In the whole time he'd lived he never once met the man, he'd never bumped into him, he'd never seen his face anywhere. Apart from when he was asleep or daydreaming. Both Armin and Mikasa never had these images of Titans and a whole different way of living years and years ago, but Eren seemed to have this from a young kid, the image of himself in these grew older just as he did in real life. He... Eren frowned and turned his head, giving a cold glare back at Levi. "Because I remember them being there. Armin was a odd kid, shy, low self esteem, but stuck by what he believed in and he believed in his friends. Mikasa, long dark hair, lost her parents at a young age, taken in by your family. She'd do anything to protect you, and A-"
"Me and Armin." Eren whispered, finishing off Levi's sentence. The words coming from the older man's mouth pained him. All these switches within his head were turning on and trying to piece together everything.
"I just want to ask one last thing and I'll be on my way. I think I understand the things in my head a bit better." Levi sighed and stood up slowly. "What do you recall about Captain Levi, what did you ever do with him?" He calmly asked, tugging at the back of his shirt to pull it back below his belt line.
Eren's cheeks heating up as his body temperature rose slightly. "I-Er... Um." He stuttered, trying to piece together the words that he wanted to say correctly, otherwise it would come out as a rambling slur. "He... He was someone everyone looked up to, despite being quite an emotionless character. He was strong, and in most cases fearless. I guess I looked up to him too. A stupendous man who was inspiring." Eren gulped and looked at his feet, twiddling about with his thumbs out of a nervous nature. "I just... Don't want to say much on terms of what happened. I just remember kissing... The man..." Eren bregrugingly spat out, feeling his teeth clench together. "It's not something I would ever imagine coming out of my head."
A small snicker escaped Levi's mouth as he turned to face Eren. The sight of the smile on Levi's face made Eren's heart almost stop, there was no doubt that this man was the same person who he perceived as Captain Levi. The man tilted his head upwards slightly and stood directly in front of Eren's feet. "What about a reminder?" He questioned again, a somewhat husky tone now running through his vocal chords. It sounded exactly like when the Captain would scold Eren for not doing something as good as he would've expected or similar situations. Levi leaned his body over Eren's and rested his right knee in a small nook on the couch between Eren's left leg and the arm of the couch. His right hand held onto Eren's right arm, as the other rested on the back of the couch. He was so close to Eren, that the loud heartbeat coming from the young-adult's chest was probably within hearing range. "You didn't even flinch..." Levi muttered, his face now inches away from Eren's as his slightly warm breath hit his lips. The air between them sparked, the situation Eren found himself in at this very second was like dejavu. "Hm... Nothing huh? Guess that's just more of an invitation." He smirked once more and slowly pressed his lips to Eren's.
Eren could feel his chest ready to combust, his stomach was doing flips and he couldn't control the shakiness of his hands. The feeling of Levi's lips fitting against his own was odd. The chapped but somehow soft lips he remembered. The sensation was recognisable, and other than his family, Eren hadn't kissed anyone else before so there was no certainty why he was so familiar with this feeling. As Levi opened his mouth and let his tongue touch against Eren's lips - he could swear this was Captain Levi. The movements were the same, the way he acted was the same, his name, appearance - everything. Eren slowly opened his mouth too, accepting any invitation to let the kiss deepen. He felt Levi breathe against his lips again, sort of like a laugh, before slipping his tongue under Eren's, filling any gap between their mouths that was there previously. Eren felt Levi's hand that was previously gripped to his arm, move to his lawline, the cold feeling spread across his blazing red cheeks. He didn't want to move, the feeling that his body was experiencing was enough, he didn't need to move. Eren kissed back as Levi's finger gently stroked the soft skin of his jaw line, and felt his tongue explore parts of his mouth. "Ca-ptain" Eren instinctively mumbled against Levi's mouth, and instantly regretted it. Levi pulled abruptly pulled away, taking all hands away from Eren, wiping saliva away from his own mouth and tutting at it. "Oh yeah, cleanliness..." Eren muttered under his breath, not realizing he was thinking out loud. Levi's previously pale face was now flushed with a pink colour, which he turned away from Eren's line of sight. He turned to pick up his coat and bag, and leave the student's house and continue with his own life without saying anything about what happened. Eren gasped and reached out an arm. "Wait L-Levi. Don't." Eren stuttered once again, and watched as Levi turned to face him, pushing some of his dark hair out of his face. "Will I see you again? Please can I see you again..." Eren choked out, a pain in his chest eating away at him. "I-I'm sorry for calling you Captain as well." He forced his words even although he could tell this was Captain Levi. He didn't want to just keep to the dreams, or memories anymore. He wanted to physically be able to see the man again.
"Hm.." Levi walked back towards the youth, a fake-sullen look on his face. He rested a hand on the top of Eren's head and leaned down to be inches away from Eren once again. A smile graced his lips and he leaned down more to leave a small kiss on his forehead. "You bet... Brat."
