Cheesy Chat Up Lines

The flat was gorgeous, beautiful views, modern crisp interior, large and extremely lonely. I've been on my own for three days now and its felt like an eternity there's too much room for one person. I guess I should be used to it now considering I've been with Marc for four years in which one he'd been travelling for work. The fact I relied on other people to do most things for me has become evident and I now realise being on your own is lonely and a hard task. I was never one for shopping or cleaning and I'm the only one living here most often then not and I have to do it.

Ticking the last item off my list I smiled as I pushed the trolley through the aisle gazing at all the chocolate as it passed me by. Stopping I turned and searched the shelves for my favourite chocolate, galaxy counters, seeing them up high I groaned and raised onto my tip toes to try to grab them. Why were the ones I want so high? Hearing chuckling behind me I looked back to see a man laughing at my shortness. He looked a slight bit older than me with an unshaven face and slightly long brown hair, his eyes were a striking grey and his lips were twisted into a smirk.

"Need any help there?" He chuckled his voice smooth and teasing,

"Yes, isn't it obvious?" I spoke dryly staring at him blankly, smiling at me he reached up grabbing the counters with his tattooed hands, "Two bags please," I muttered as he grabbed them for me,

"There you go," He smiled handing them me, "Now what do you say?"

"Thanks for laughing at me then helping me," I mumbled, holding my chocolate to my chest and shuffling towards my trolley,

"I'm Leo and you are?" He announced following behind me pushing a trolley of his own,

"Cherise," I smiled back at him, continuing towards the checkout, I parked my trolley and started placing my shopping on the conveyor belt,

"Are you religious? Because you're the answer to all my prayers," I heard his charming voice behind me, turning around I gave him a look of disbelief and slight amusement.
"Did you really just say that?" I questioned raising my eyebrow,

"Wow, your eyes are two different colours," He smiled amazed at me,

"Yeah, it's heterochromia, a genetic mutation,"

"Prettiest mutation I've ever seen," Smiling at him I nodded and focused on scanning and packing my items,

"Are you lost ma'am? Because heaven is a long way from here,"

"Right, it sure is," I muttered shaking my head at the terrible pick up lines,

"I seem to have lost my phone number. Can I have yours?"

"No you cannot,"

"Well you can have mine," He smirked holding a piece of paper with a number scrawled on, "Call me whenever you'd like to talk, maybe I could even get a laugh from my chat up lines,"

"hmm, I doubt that," Shoving the paper in my pocket I pay with my card and leave giving Leo one last long look, maybe checking him out, a teensy bit.

Getting home I unpacked my grocery's and slipped into a large sweatshirt and cotton shorts, logging into my laptop I searched the internet for close by rescue centres. Searching through the dogs I smiled at the puppies and dogs frowning at some of the stories behind their homelessness, seeing a small dalmatian puppy I booked a appointment and checked my emails, seeing one from work I frowned, I had another week off and yet I still received a mass of emails asking various questions which Google could've answered, it surprised me how much they believe I'm needed. After replying I shut my laptop down then locked up and retired to my room, folding my jeans I found a scrunched up piece of paper on the floor beneath. Picking it up I read it and let out a small giggle, 'Are you a parking ticket? because you've got fine written all over you! Call me some time - xx-xxx-xxx-xxx'. Typing the number in I sent him a text, 'Hey please don't send me bad chat up lines' within seconds my phone buzzed and lit up,

'Stop, drop, and roll, baby. You are on fire!'

'I specifically said not to'

'Your ass is so nice that it is a shame that you have to sit on it.'

'These are so bad.'

'I hope there's a fire truck nearby, cause you're smokin'!'

'Every time you text back I cringe'

'You are a 9 - you'd be a perfect 10 if you were with me.'

'I'm regretting texting you now'

'Baby, you're so hot, you make the equator look like the north pole.' Attached there was a picture of him smiling, tattooed chest peaking out of his blue covers,

'If you send any more I will block you,'

'Ah no, don't be a spoilt sport, I bet you laughed.'

'I bet I didn't'

'What are you doing tomorrow night?'

'Depends,'

'How about dinner?'

'No.'

'It wouldn't be a date. I saw the ring on your finger'
Sighing I thought about the offer, it'd be nice to get out of the house but I don't want to be seen with another man even if it's just as friends.
'No.'
