Key

1/1

That small, wooden box was a gift from my grandma before she died. I remember my trembling hands and my teary eyes as I tried to open it with its key, but I couldn’t.

‘’It’s alright; I will be the keeper of the box until you find the strength to open it,’’ said the small boy sitting beside me, my one and only friend.

The key hung around my neck like a necklace, till now. Jade is by my side as I finally open the cherished box, and inside lay photographs of me and my grandmother.

I cry and Jade cries too. He loves me, but he doesn’t know I love him too.
