chapter three: safety measures
Leo’s POV
she showed up in a red dress makeup done and hair curled lightly she looked beautiful. she looked good her profession is doing her well.
“hola” i said standing up to greet her
“hola lo siento for my lateness something came up from work when i recieved your flowers muchos gracias for the flowers how did you know roses were my favorite.” she asked
“ i have my sources Officer Mariana” i said she nodded and i helped her into her seat.
“gracias” she said
“ De Nada” i said as i watched her pick up the menu to see what she wanted and thats when i noticed the gauze on her left arm. i felt my blood boil at the person who shot her
“leo are you alright” she asked then she realized i saw the gauze
“yeah i’m ok dont worry” i said
“i know your staring at the gauze on my left arm it was a standoff and shots were fired i did more damage to him than he did to me he’s in custody you don’t have to worry” she said damn she’s a good analyzer i sighed i knew i had to tell her now
“you need to back off this investigation its way to dangerous Mariana if you continue the last of your family could be killed.” i said
“i am a big girl i carry a damn gun for a living Mr. Messi i am flattered that you care about my safety but i’m not going to back off this investigation im getting closer to my parents killer and i have a lead” she said now im concerned
“do you know how to fight physically” i asked
“yes i do Mr. Messi why” she asked
“i would love to teach you a little more if you let me” i asked
“sure i guess so” she said i silently sat there pleased at the fact that she agreed
“come to this address at Five am” i said as i poured her another glass of wine
“ok your lucky its my day off” she said i smiled a little i knew when her days off were. i knew her work schedule i also knew she went to the gym because of what i was able to dig up on this beautiful barcelona cop.
“alright i will have neymar take you home and Mariana this time be careful lock the doors and windows” i said she rolled her eyes and nodded
“neymar make sure she gets inside safely and wait for a few minutes im going to send my security to sit outside her house” I said
“yes sir” Neymar said i nodded and patted him on the back if something were to happen i would be notified i kissed her cheek as she went to leave i watched her get in the car before i called my best security guy Luis who said he’d stay until four am which was fine because she would be coming straight to my house.
Mariana’s POV
once i was inside i pulled out my gun from the safe to clean it which i did in record time and reloaded it before going up to my room and setting the loaded gun on my night stand in case i needed it what if Mr. Messi wants me to be safe then he gets this gun on my night stand and me in my comfy bed he sure as hell had no right to tell me to back of this investigation because i had a lead and that lead led to my captain. but i can’t just question the captain of the police department not without internal affairs getting involved. but something else was bothering me Why does the notorius lionel Messi care for a cop like me i dont know many unsolved murders that have happened are linked to him why am i falling for him it makes no sense at all. every time he is around my heart beats faster and when he kissed my cheek why did i want kiss him. Ugh i need to get my shit together and focus on this investigation.
