I'm the Last One That You'll Ever Remember

Chapter 112: Peaceful Scene

Frank woke up that beautiful sunny morning feeling slightly sore and yet at the same time marvelous. His hazel eyes blinked a few times to clear his blurry vision of the window and it's parted curtain allowing a slither of sunshine to seep into his dark room. His drowsy mind wondered what time it was before him shifting to lie on his back beneath his sheets instead of on his side reminded him all to well that he was naked as the day he was born underneath. Frank didn't sleep in the nude, he never did before and especially wouldn't start now what with two young children running into his room almost every morning to cuddle in bed with him!

“What the fuck?” Shooting up into a sitting position with his back against his headboard with a wince, Frank surveyed his guest bedroom at a loss before the sensation in his bum brought back all the emotional memories of the night before that led to his mysterious sensitivity. Hazel eyes widened in horror as his jaw dropped in a state of shock. “Oh god...”

Slowly, his head turned to his right to confirm once again what he already knew. He was alone. Poison, who he just discovered the night before was also his ex-boyfriend Gerard, was gone out of his life once again not leaving a single trace behind as evidence to his stay. The only sign of his presence there that night was Frank's effected anus. But that was not enough for Frank, it was never was. Once again he was abandoned like a one night stand and it hurt like nothing ever before. “Sonofabitch!” Frank wailed weakly to himself, his eyes instantly filling with heartbroken tears and spilling over as if they had been sitting behind the scenes for a long time, waiting for a signal to appear.

Pulling his knees up to his chest, Frank wrapped his arms around them and lowered his forehead to rest atop them. His tears spilled down his thighs as he privately sobbed the anguish from his heart numb. He hated this man like no other he's ever hated before! No, he hated himself more. He was the one that was stupid enough to fall in love with the man when he's never shown any further interest in him other than to use his body. Even if Poison had, he was still his kidnapper at the end of the day anyway.

But even after last night? After all that's been said and truths revealed Poison still treated him like he was nothing to him? Frank finally admitted to him the truth that the children sleeping in this very home were created by them every time they came intimately together! And still he was finding himself being abandoned and left alone by a heartless irresponsible bastard that selfishly only care about himself. What did Frank expect? That they'd come together as parents for these three kids and raise them in the environment they only ever deserved? Well, they didn't. They won't. Poison has made it loud and clear that the existence of his own children weren't enough to stop him from being a monster to society.

Frank finally lifted his pink face and bloodshot eyes to wipe his tears from sight. “Should have called the police on his ass and sent him to jail for the rest of his fucking life!” He shook his head at his own declaration. He wasn't going to do it now just like he hadn't done it before. He was all talk at this point and that's all he'd ever be.

Feeling bitter and livid with himself, Frank glanced towards the window and caught sight of the time on his beside clock. His eyes enlarged at the sight of 9AM glowing at him. “OH MY GOD, THE KIDS!”

Flying off the bed without a care, he jumped into some pajamas laying around, ran into his bedroom to briefly checked Jasiah's crib which he thought was occupied, brushed his teeth lightning fast in his bathroom and barge out of his bedroom all the while wondering why his alarm clock didn't go off this morning. His kids always got up early, and so he especially had to get up early to beat them or else he'd be force to lock them in their rooms so they didn't go wandering around the house and getting into trouble. But he hardly took two steps when two things came to his attention. Lorenzo and Venetia's bedroom doors were wide open, revealing empty beds. The second was hearing their little voice downstairs already along with giggling from...Jasiah? He'd thought he saw his son was in his crib but then again it was only a passing glance, not enough detail to be certain...but clearly he recognize ALL their voices instantly, and somehow...they were ALL downstairs without him. Becoming alarmed, Frank hurried down the stairs in disbelief, needing answers. The sight he saw in his open kitchen had him almost missing the last step and nearly falling forwards on the hardwoods stairs. “What the...”

Gerard with his cherry red hair was wearing one of his mother's aprons for when she visits and cooks for the grandkids. He was behind the stove finishing off breakfast and piling it onto two plates. At the dinning table over the counter sat Lorenzo, Venetia, and Jasiah all in their high chairs eating the very same breakfast. Well, Lorenzo was inhaling it with both hands like a little piggy per usual while Venetia was daintily eating with her fork like her grandma taught her to. Jasiah was intrigued by the way his big brother scarfing everything down and was trying to keep up with him. Gerard took notice of this from within the kitchen while setting up his plate and Frank's. “Jasiah!” He called, earning the young ones light brown eyes on him. “Slow down or you'll choke on your food.”

With a gurgle, Jasiah's eyes were drawn to Lorenzo again who was vacuuming his plate clean. Not heeding Gerard's words, he got back to trying to catch up with his big brother. Trying a different tactic, Gerard called out Lorenzo this time. “Lorenzo, I'm gonna need you to slow down, little man. Your brother's watching you.”

Lorenzo frowned at Gerard before glancing at his little brother who stopped the minute his brother did. “Wat?”

“He copit you!” Venetia tried to explain with a pat of her hand on Lorenzo's arm and then a finger pointed at Jasiah.

“If you keep eating that way, he'll do it too and can choke from it.” Gerard clarified for him as he poured orange juice into two large glasses.

“Stop it.” Lorenzo ordered Jasiah now with a finger pointed at him, not getting why Jasiah would put himself in that kind of risk. He wasn't making him do it, he was just trying to eat his breakfast the way he likes to.

“He baby!” Venetia reminded him. “Mom says he try ever tin we do so we be car full.”

“But why he do tat?” Lorenzo questioned, not quite getting why he had to stop his whole life just because of his little brother being a copy cat.

Gerard couldn't help but chuckle at his first born son's confusion. “Most little kids are like that. They like to copy what other people do. My little brother did it to me too when we were growing up, and so did you two when you were little.”

“Wat? No!” Lorenzo objected in disgust before pointing in a finger coated in eggs and bread crumbs towards his twin sister. “I no copit her! She girl!”

“So?” Venetia defended quite passionately. “I a prwincess!”

Gerard found himself to be highly amused by his twins arguments which was odd. He wasn't a family kind of guy, but after waking the kids up this morning, getting them ready for the day and making them breakfast, he couldn't help but fall in love with this short piece of life that he'd prayed could be his from here on out. From the corner of his eyes, he had seen Frank nearly fall down the stairs, but kept his attention on the kids in order to give him some time to take the safe and peaceful scene in that he provided their kids. And also if he decided to make a charge at him again Gerard would easily be able to take him down onto the kitchen floor before the kids could noticed. But knew Frank wouldn't try and make a rambunctious scene like that in front of his children.

When Frank didn't move for some time, Gerard knew it was finally time to face the judge face to face and see if he'd be given the right to be apart of his children's lives. To be apart of Frank's life...well, that might be too good to be true. Turning his head to Frank's direction, he saw him with his back against the wall, hazel eyes wide with tears that were falling down his pale cheek. He was clearly in a state of shock. Knowing he needed rescuing and not wanting his children to see their mother in distraught, Gerard removed his apron and left the twins to argue over who has copies who. Jasiah sat there watching them argue, waiting for Lorenzo to resume eating again so he could race to keep up with him again.

Gerard stepped over to the stairs making sure to keep a safe distance from Frank as he clasped his hands before him so he wouldn't also give in and reach out to touch him. He had to be on his best behavior, it was imperative that he did so. If he screw this up, than he might as well find the nearest bridge and jump straight off of it because there was no life outside of this world he's discovered Frank to be living in all these years. Swallowing past the anxious lump in his throat, Gerard softly called his lover's name, not wishing to draw the kid's attention towards them in case things turned bad. “Frankie.”

It took hearing his name a few times before Frank blinked past his tears to clear his vision so he could see the scene before him more clearly. His mouth closed as he lowered his eyes to Gerard who was standing before him. Speechless, Frank struggled to find the words that needed to be said. “I...I...wha...”

“It's okay. Everything is okay.” Peacefully, Gerard raised a hand to silence him before gesturing to the table behind them where there was an empty chair between the twins who were still arguing. “The twins were fighting over who got to sit next to mommy this morning so I had to rearrange the chairs.”

Frank softly shook his head at Gerard as a single tear from his gorgeous eyes and traveled down the smooth curve of his cheek. His mind was reeling over what he just witnessed. His children eating breakfast made by the very man that created them, their biological father, and also the man who kidnapped their mother and put them in him in the first place. Any stranger seeing would think they were all a big happy family but that wasn't true! Gerard...he wasn't...he couldn't be...he wasn't suppose to be here! He was supposed to be miles away from here and yet...he was right there in front of him? He hadn't left? Everything Frank knew and believed in was now up for some serious questioning.

Gerard's eyes dropped to the single tear that fell, and his immediate reaction was to tenderly wipe it away with the sweep of his thumb. However, he didn't have the right to do that. Taking only one step forward because Frank shrunk back away from him, Gerard lowered his voice to a soothing level and whispered to him. “Don't cry anymore, Frankie. You have nothing to cry about. From here on out, everything will be okay, you hear me? Everything will be as right as rain. Now, wipe your face dry. You don't want to worry the kids.” Sweeping an arm past him, he gestures to the kitchen table. “Shall we?”

Struck temporarily mute, Frank ignored his kidnapper to wipe his eyes with the sleeve of his shirt. Fighting to stay awake from his state of shock, he quietly walked to the kitchen table like an obedient servant under the watchful eyes of a dangerous monster.
