I'm the Last One That You'll Ever Remember

Chapter 138: Family?

“Did you find the baby wipes?” Frank glanced up to ask Gerard as he came jogging down the stairs in a rush. Today was supposed to be an ordinary day out with the kids at a park nearby, nothing more nothing less. Tipping down over the stroller, Frank finished securely buckling Jasiah in. “If it's not on the baby's dressing table then one of the twins must have taken it somehow. They have a bad habit of mopping the house with the whole packet if you don't stop them in time.”

“Na-uh, mommy.” Lorenzo pouted, crossing his arms over his chest from where he stood lined up along the wall next to Venezia. Because they tended to wander a lot, they were always directed to stay by the front door with their backs to the wall whenever it was time for them to leave the house.

“I found them in your bathroom.” Gerard answered, tucking the container into the baby bag deposited in front of the stroller. “How about you push Jasiah and I'll keep the twins from running off into the streets. They need to start learning that we're not going to condone that kind of behavior any longer.”

Finding the 'take charge' attitude Gerard adopted when he played daddy super sexy, Frank reached out to snag him by his black leather jacket and jerked him over to him. Standing on his tiptoes, he confided in Gerard's ear. “I love it when you take charge and bark orders, baby. Makes me wanna act up so you'll treat me that way in the bedroom when we're alone.”

Before he could respond, Frank briefly suckled on his earlobe, making him swallow back a moan. “Don't seduce me, sugar, or we won't be going to any park today.”

Giggling at how easily affected he was by his every motion and touch, Frank lightly pushed him back. “I can't let that happen, now can I? What kind of mother would I be to abolish the plans for the day with our kids to retire back to bed?” Gesturing towards the door, Frank coiled his hands around the handle of the stroller where Jasiah was seated on top where he could see him entirely. “Alright, we better get a move on before it decides to rain on us again.”

Gerard grinned as he turned to walk towards the anticipating twins you had gotten disinterested and slid down the wall onto their butts. “You go-”

Abruptly, he was cut off by excessive pounding on the front door. The power of the knocks and in such fast sequence wiped the smile from both of the parents as they gradually shared a look of worry as to who could be knocking so demandingly on their front door. The twins both bounced back from the door and turned their heads to gawk with interest. Frank felt his heart begin to gallop as a dreadful feeling in his gut began to cultivate. “Gee?”

“Don't worry, sugar. I got it.” Gerard reassured him tenderly, waving a soothing hand to alleviate him. Briefly narrowing his eyes on the door, his gaze soon dropped to the twins you were peering back at their parents. “Lorenzo, Venetia, I want you to go into the living room with mommy for a minute. No, but!”

Slamming their mouths at the same time, the twins stepped away from the door and went to accompany Frank into the living room where he had them sit on the floor by the baby stroller. Jasiah was busy with his teething ring in his car seat on the seat behind the twins to focus on anything going on at the moment. “Sit there with your little brother, and don't say a word.” Earning a nod from them both as they set a teeny finger over their mouths, Frank stepped away to peep around the corner to see Gerard opening the front door. Entering into the hallway, he hovered halfway behind him, trying to snoop over his lover's shoulder to establish the unwanted caller.

With his hand behind his back twiddling the handle of a small blade he kept tucked in his pants, Gerard opened the door to...his brother!? Kobra stood before him in his conventional public apparel, black jeans, a black leather jacket, a white shirt with some design on it and black combat boots. His eyes were shielded behind thick back glasses and his hair unsually dishevelled even being messily brushed back. “Kobra?!” Rapidly glancing behind him at his short lover gaping from a distance, Gerard stepped forward to block the appearance of his brother from view as he closed the door several inches and seethed with furor at the young restless fellow. “Goddamnit, Michael, what the fuck are you doing here?! How dare you come looking for me after I told you not to!”

“Fuck you, Gerard, I don't have time for any of your shit today!” Michael snapped back, undoubtedly fuming over something as he kept shifting around, stepping from here to there, glimpsing behind his shoulder, turning this way and that. Something was going on, and it wasn't good. “Now, let me the fuck in!”

“After you kiss my ass, little brother. Now, get the fuck off of this property or I'll make you.” Gerard refused, his hand clenching the door so tightly his knuckles were even whiter than normal. It took everything in him not to step forward and punch his kid brother in the face. Yeah, it's true Kobra had been telling him he'd drop by unannounced if Gerard didn't allow him entry into his life sooner or later, but he didn't think he'd actually meant this soon! Gerard had something fabulous going on here, a lover, and a family and now his brother was about to sabotage everything by simply being here! “You're not welcome here and you damn well know it!”

“Look, you dickhead, we got a situation here that's way more important than your troublesome Black Opal!” Michael snapped, slapping his palm against the door to keep it open just in case his brother resolved to shut the door in his face. He didn't care how Gerard felt about him showing up, he was gonna listen to what he had to say.

Stepping forward so they were face to face, Gerard growled out. “Listen here, you entitled little shit, there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING more important than my Black Opal! Is that understood?”

“NOT EVEN SABLE!?” Michael shouted, not backing down as his voice reverberated through the nice serene neighborhood.

Taken aback by the mention of her name, all the fury faded from Gerard's face. “Sable?”

“Yeah, Sable! Now, move the fuck aside!” Michael smoldered, barging past his older brother, who was caught off guard, and into the house where he only took a few steps into the grand dazzling place to pinpoint Frank staring down the hall at him in terror. He didn't stop there, and pushed past the young retreating man without a care for him either. “Move out the way, shorty!”

“G-GEE!” Frank managed to scream for his lover, his concern now on his children being located in the next room. They had to be protected, they were only babies for crying out loud! “THE CHILDREN!”

With his rage reawakening, Gerard vigorously slammed the front door shut and stomped down the hall where his brother went. “MIKEY, GET BACK HERE!”

Following close behind on his heels, Frank called out to his children, tears overfilling his hazel eyes and streaming down his cheeks. His hand frantically reached out for Gerard's arm clad in his leather jacket, needing just a pint of his toughness for what was about to go down because if he had to, he would protect his children from their atrocious Uncle...even if Gerard declined to do anything about it. “VENETIA, LORENZO! STAY AWAY FROM THIS STRANGER, YOU HEAR ME?! DON'T GO NEAR HIM!”

Michael moseyed into the living room, knowing the couple were right behind him, but paused when he found three children assembled on the floor by a couch in the living room with a baby strapped in it's car seat chewing on a teething ring. The two oldest gawked back at him with wide eyes swelled with wonder, but did nothing else. What were these kids doing in his Frank's place? “What the hell? What are you three doing here?”

Somehow past him and Gerard like the Flash, Frank stood between Michael and his children with his arms outstretched wide in order to shield them. A savage violence he didn't know he even had filled to nearly bursting as he glared at the tall slender man that had breached his home. “I WANT YOU OUT OF MY HOUSE RIGHT THIS SECOND, OR I SWEAR I'M GONNA CALL THE POLICE RIGHT NOW!”

Not the least bit intimidated, Michael stepped forward menacingly and growled. “I dare you to, little man, cause then I'l-”

“You'll do nothing to my family!” Gerard growled back from behind him as he stepped forward with the blade unsheathed behind his back so his children wouldn't see it...but his brother would know it was there. It was a difficult position Gerard found himself in where he might have murder his only relative alive on this planet in order to preserve his family. But if he had to make his choice, it would be Frank and his babies any day despite the fact that if it wasn't for Mikey he'd be long dead, or on death row.

Frank let out a gasp at Gerard's weakness of word in using 'family' in front of his brother. From their last conversation, the Killjoys didn't know he was still affiliated with Frank or about their family. Only Kobra knew of him, but now, he might just piece together the three kids seated in the living room with him and do the math himself. Let's hope mathematics was a study he failed in school.

Snapping his head towards his big brother, Michael narrowed his eyes on him questioningly. “Family?”
