I'm the Last One That You'll Ever Remember

Chapter 76: Independence Day

Well, this was a first for Gerard.

He and Frank weren’t even in a relationship and yet here he was with his parents eating dinner with them at their kitchen table. Gerard watched their interactions with a small smile on his face that was actually brought on by the fact that he was very man who had kidnapped and raped their son and they hadn’t the slightest idea. It was sick to find that amusing, true, but Gerard couldn’t stop smiling at how….funny the situation was. The very man that wanted to kill him was sitting right across from him sharing a joke with everyone at the table. His wife, who would probably kill him too if her husband didn’t get to him first, was laughing in response to it. Gerard’s eyes lingered on Margo Iero, and how her soft features had been given to her son while Frank Sr. kept his sharp features. His hazel eyes drifted to study Frank who had insisted on feeding the twins during the second, and third time his mother refilled his plate. He wondered to himself if Frank would outgrow the softness when he got older. What would he look like when he finally became a man? Would he still be as beautiful and delicate as he was now or would he be muscular and hard? Gerard had a hard time picturing his Black Opal being anything, but his submissive little cockslut. Wait…would he end up being someone else’s cockslut in the future? The thought alone took only half a second to infuriate Gerard almost to the point of no return. Quickly, Gerard put a smile on his face and jumped to another topic mentally, and then verbally. “Wow, Frank, I’m impressed! You sure can eat a whole lot, and not gain a single pound. What’s your secret?”

Frank Sr. spot his son’s look of surprise, and immediately swooped in to rescue him, because of his condition that was still unknown to everyone, but the family and doctors. He let out a laugh that sounded legitimate enough, and pointed his fork towards his son. “Ah, so you’ve noticed too, eh? It’s a genetic thing, you know? We Ieros are known for our endless appetites. We have a long history of winning food eating competitions all around the world back in the old days.”

Relaxing his suddenly tensed muscles, Frank gave his dad a thankful smile for explaining his hungry hippo appetite. “Yeah, we’re a hungry bunch.” He turned his attention to Lorenzo, and leaned over to give him an Eskimo kiss. “Isn’t that right, my big man?”

Gerard couldn’t help but smile at the contagious laugh of the baby, but that didn’t mean he would simply overlook the fact that Frank Sr. had only one plate of dinner, and not nearly the same amount as his son. He wonder why Frank had this great appetite, but his father didn’t. After all, they were both Ieros. Mentally brushing it off, Gerard finished his plate and listened to Frank’s parents talk about work. Frank’s dad worked in the medical field, and his mother was a lawyer. That explained a lot about the big fancy house, and the flashy cars.

Before they all knew it, dinner was over and the twins were falling asleep in their high chair. Margo smiled from where she stood gathering the dishes up along with her husband. “Pumpkin, it looks like it’s time for those two to be put down.”

“We’ll get to that in a minute, honey.” Frank Sr. assured his wife as he got started on washing the dishes piled in the sink.

“Oh no, daddy, I want to do it!” Frank whined, making his mom playfully roll her eyes at how childish he was behaving.

“Alright, Frankie-boy. You can do it.” Frank Sr. assured him, chuckling to himself.

“Sweet!” Frank, despite having ate enough for three people, jumped to his feet and attempted to unlock the tray and lift Venetia up in his arms. “Oh, my little princess. You’re all full, aren’t you? Don’t worry, we’ll get you to bed soon.”

Not liking the idea of Frank taking the twins upstairs alone when he was carrying another baby, Margo stepped in to help. “Here, pumpkin, let me get Lorenzo for you.”

Gerard held up a hand. “Actually, Mrs. Iero, I don’t mind at all helping Frank out before I head out. That is if it’s okay with you and Mr. Iero.”

The couple shared a look of agreement before giving Gerard the okay nod. “We’d be grateful if you could, actually. Frank had gotten sick last week, and we preferred if it he didn’t push himself, you know?”

“Absolutely.” Gerard nodded before unlocking Lorenzo’s seat and picking him up. The twins and their mess had been cleaned up so he didn’t have to deal with messy sticky fingers. When Lorenzo was secured and comfortable in his arms, Gerard followed Frank up to the twin’s separate rooms. They each tucked the babies in who neither made a fuss about being put to bed. As Gerard turned on the nightlight and left Lorenzo’s room, frank came running out of Venetia and straight into the very same bathroom Gerard remembered kidnapping him out of the second time. Immediate concern flood through Gerard’s system, and was the reason he took off running after him. Before he got to the door he heard Frank vomiting in the toilet, and slowed his steps. He pushed the cracked door open and walked in. Frank didn’t seem to notice him there until he pulls his long strands of hair back from his face while he emptied his stomach. “You okay, Frankie?”

Frank nodded as he got a grip of himself. If he turned his head to look at Gerard he’d see that his face was red with embarrassment. He couldn’t believe this! Why did he have to vomit now with Gerard there!? Why couldn’t he have done this before the guy arrived? Just my damn luck, Frank groaned inwardly to himself. “Y-Yeah, I’m good. Don’t worry about it.”

Gerard smiled and crouched down to tub his back. “You know you shouldn’t eat that much food so fast. It’ll make you sick.”

“Y-Yeah, you’re right. I don’t know what I was thinking.” Frank totally agreed though he knew that wasn’t the true reason as to why he vomited, but it’s not like he could just tell Gerard that. No one was allowed to know, and Frank preferred to keep it that way. The less people knew, the less of a chance he’d get jumped on his way out to take out the trash. “I didn’t eat much of anything last week so I’m guess my stomach wants to make up for lost times.”

Chuckling, Gerard shook his head at him. “Still, you need to take it slow.”

Once Frank was okay, he had to convince Gerard he was absolutely fine and he didn’t need to go lay down. Once they returned downstairs, Gerard turned to him to say his goodbyes, but Frank cut him off to beg him to stay longer. “No, don’t! Don’t leave yet. Can’t you stay longer? At least for just one more movie? I promise it won’t be a Disney princess movie.”

“I don’t know.” Gerard began, unsure if he should stay longer. He’s gotten through the evening so far with his true identity undetected so far, but it wasn’t smart to keep chancing it. It was best for him to leave, and soon. “I mean, you’re parents probably want the house to themselves, and with the way you were puking your guts out it sounds like you should head to bed anyway.”

Frank rolled his eyes. “I told you, I’m fine! And I’m sure my parents wouldn’t mind you staying longer.”

“We really wouldn’t.” Margo seconded as she and her husband stepped out of the kitchen. They had finished the dishes and the washer was now doing its job. They were both tuckered out, and were ready to call it a night. “You can stay for another movie, Gerard, but naturally we’d expect you to head on home afterwards. Frank’s too sick to have sleepovers right now.”

With three against one, how could Gerard argue? He knew he shouldn’t stay, but the Iero’s welcoming invitation was too good to pass, especially because it meant he could be around Frank longer. They had told him they expected him to leave after the movie, which sounded like to him that they weren’t going to be around downstairs to make sure he leaves. Gerard preferred that much better than having them around to watch him around their son. “Only if you’re sure.”

“Yes yes yes! They’re sure, now let’s go!” Frank rushed as he leaned over to grab Gerard’s hand, and drag him back into the living room to watch Independence Day: Resurgence, a movie he hadn’t yet seen, but was curious about.

Though he was taken away from Frank’s parents to hear what they felt about him staying longer, he wasn’t an untrained Killjoy that couldn’t have spot the doubt rising in Mrs. Iero’s eyes, and the obvious disapproval of having Gerard stay around any longer than he had to be. Gerard helped himself to a seat on the couch as Frank put the movie in, and turned out the lights. On one of the loveseats was a blanket draped over it, Frank pulled it off and as he sat down next to Gerard, placed it over the both of them. “Thank you.”

“No problem.” Frank assured him before hurrying to the menu of the DVD, and getting the film started. Throughout the movie, he began to lean more towards Gerard’s side of the couch. It wasn’t intentional, it’s just a strange habit Frank had. He always leaned against the closest person when he watched movies.

Gerard wasn’t the least bit bothered by Frank intruding on his private space. In fact, he was glad he did, because it finally gave him the confident to wrap his arm around Frank’s shoulder, and pull him closer to his side. Frank didn’t say anything, but from the corner of his eyes he could see that he was blushing red. Gerard smiled to himself and turned his attention back to the movie, only for it to come full circle back around to Frank….where it permanently stayed. The couple remained that way for the rest of the film, until Frank became so drowsy he fell asleep against his side. Gerard was aware of when it happened since he wasn’t paying attention to the movie anymore. All he cared about was Frank…and touching him again. The moment Frank’s eyes shut, Gerard had his opportunity. With his other hand, he carefully reached out to touch the exposed flesh of his side. With a shiver and a soft sigh, Gerard closed his eyes and stroke the familiar flesh so lightly Frank was too far gone to wake up from it. His hand became bolder, and expanded its journey to Frank’s flat stomach. He lingered there for a long time, just rubbing and rubbing. Leaning forward, Gerard leaned his head against Frank’s and listened to him breath as he continued to touch him.

When Frank finally woke up, it was late in the night. We wasn’t in the living room anymore. He was upstairs in his room. He hadn’t remembered walking there, and saw on the pillow next to him a piece of paper. Exhausted, he reached forward to grab it and held it in front of his tired eyes. The note was from Gerard and it said he’d see him soon. A smile drifted over Frank’s face as his arm lowered back down to rest over his stomach. He fell back asleep with the note in his hand.
