What Have You Done?
"Roman!" A yell. A demand. "Answer me this instant or I'll break this door down."
That caused what I think was supposed to be a laugh to escape my lips.
I could hardly picture it, but at the same time I could vividly.
Mom, in her heels that clicked on the tile, and her fancy skirt-suit.. breaking down an old oak door.
Her hair immaculate on her head, her makeup unmeasured. Not a thing out of place.
A crack. A bang.
Soon she was standing before me. Just as I pictured.
Perfect.
She was silent. I turned my head farther to the right, I would avoid her completely.
God, let me die.
"Oh Rome." Her voice was quiet, calm.. disapproving.
"What have you done?"
