"Hey baby" Sidney said picking up his phone, he smiled and turned into Mario's driveway
"Hi sweetheart" she said happily
"How's school?"
"Almost finished thankfully. Did Taylor tell you I went to her game last night?" She asked
"No I didn't get to talk to her"
"She did really well" Madison said with a smile "it's just like watching your doppelgänger....just a female" she said, Sidney chuckled.
"I miss you"
"I miss you too" she sighed "just 5 more finals are between me getting on a airplane and coming to you for break" she said
"I can't wait" he said "do you have studying to do tonight?"
"Ya, Taylor is gonna come over and study too" she said, Sidney smiled, he was so happy that Taylor had someone there to help her out.
When Madison decided to go back to school 2 years ago for business Management, Sidney completely stood by her side, the distance was tough, but when Taylor got accepted and moved up to Northeastern, things got a little easier. Both girls seemed to feel better about being away from Sidney.
"I'm proud of you"
"For what?" She giggled, he smiled at her sweet laugh
"For going back when you didn't want to, for doing so well, for handling this distance, for handling the crap you get in Boston about me" he said, she chuckled
"They can talk all they want, your my favorite hockey player besides my daddy and the bruins suck anyways" she said, Sidney chuckled. "Plus you have the best butt in the league"
"And it's all for you" he said, she smiled
"Do you think I'm a idiot for going back to school?"
"What why would you say that?" He asked turning off his ranger rover
"I'm 26, back to school for the 2nd time, having to do another 2 years"
"Maddy, I will support whatever decision you make" he said
"I just feel so old. Im the oldest in my classes" she sighed
"You also already have a degree in sports management sweetheart, look babe you are a week away from your finals, then you have one more quarter and you graduate with a masters, your almost there" he said getting out of his car
"I guess" she sighed
"Hang in there" he said "I just got to your parents house, call you later tonight?"
"Ok"
"Alright baby, I love you"
"I love you too Sidney"
"Try to relax, have a glass of wine or something" he said, she giggled
"I might"
"Just don't give it to my sister"
"Well that's no fun" she protested, Sidney chuckled "tell everyone hello and I will see them in 2 weeks"
"I will bye sweetie"
"Bye babe" she said, Sidney hung up and walked into the house
"Hello" he called
"We are in here" Nathalie yelled, Sidney smiled and turned the corner to see Nathalie, Mario, Alexa, Austin, Lauren, Stephanie, Marc, Vero and Estelle
"Let me see it" Vero said excitedly as Sidney hugged everyone. Sidney chuckled and set the Tiffany's bag down, he pulled out a blue box and sat it on the counter, he opened the box to reveal a smaller blue velvet box, all eyes looked as he opened the smaller box to reveal the diamond ring. Gasps from the girls made Sidney smiled
"Holy crap" Alexa said
"Sidney that is gorgeous" Stephanie said with a smile
"You think she will like it?" He asked
"It's Tiffany's yes she will like it" Lauren said, Nathalie rolled her eyes at her daughter
"There is like 15 diamonds there" Alexa added trying to look closer, Sidney wasn't letting anyone touch it so he kept pulling it away every time she would reach for it
"20 small diamonds and then the big one, the wedding band is nothing but diamonds" he said proudly
"I haven't seen that one before" Stephanie said, everyone looked at her confused "what? I'm a girl and I have Pinterest" she said with a smile, everyone chuckled
"Sidney it's you, she will love whatever you give her" Nathalie said patting his back
"Thanks" he said gently closing the box "I'm nervous" he said
"Don't be, you know she is gonna say yes" Austin said, Sidney chuckled
"I knew Vero was gonna say yes but I was sweating bullets" Marc said, Vero smiled at him.
"See" Sidney said
"Do you have it planned?" Lauren asked
"For the most part" Sidney said smiling at Vero and Nathalie who were both helping him set everything up. They smiled and proudly nodded. "this is where I need everyone's help" he said "Nathalie is going to call and invite her for brunch, shopping and spa stuff, she thinks we have an event that night at consol, so I'm going to complain about having to go to meetings all day so she will go. A limo will pick her up along with all the girls. They are going to brunch, the spa, to get their hair, nails, make up and all of that stuff done" he said, looking at Nathalie making sure he was correct, she smiled and nodded "the limo is going to drop them off at my house so they can change. Once they get to consol I'm going to have Nathalie blind fold 2 of the girls plus Madison, once she is blind folded the other girls will take theirs off and mario will be there to get her, he will then lead her to the ice where I will be along with everyone else" Sidney said with a smile "I will then take her hand, remove the blind fold, tell her how much she means to me, get down on one knee and propose in front of everyone" he said, Nathalie and Vero smiled as Lauren, Alexa and Stephanie grinned stupidly at Sidney.
"Wow" Austin said, Mario nodded his head in agreement
"The girls I have going are me, Catherine Letang, Lacey Comeau, Carole-Lyne Dupuis, Farina Eheoff, Malin Hornqvist, Maureen Kunitz, Natasha Lapierre, David's girlfriend Vanessa, Courtney Scuderi, Nick's girlfriend Brittany, Daniel's girlfriend Taylor, You 3, sidney's sister Taylor, and Maddy's best friend Chelsea" Vero said, Sidney went through the list in his head and nodded
"A limo is gonna fit that many girls?" Marc asked, Mario chuckled
"It holds 24, we made sure we got the biggest one" Nathalie smiled
"Mom your not going?" Austin asked
"No I'm going to meet them at consol" she said "I'm going to go to Sidney's tell her our plan then say Dad called me away for a important meeting"
"Then I step in and take it from there" Vero said
"And all the girls know?"
"Yes" Vero said "she doesn't know Chelsea is coming, that's the first surprise" she added, Sidney nodded
"Way too show me up man" Marc said, Sidney chuckled and shrugged
"This is wonderful" Mario said
"Just going to make the final arrangements this week"
"Your parents are going to be here right?" Mario asked
"Yes thankfully" Sidney said "we weren't sure if they were going to be able to make it but my mom said they will for sure be here" he said with a smile
"All 4 of you have to be dressed nice" Nathalie said turning to her kids, Mario nodded
"Do we get food out of this?" Austin asked, Sidney chuckled
"Actually yes, after I propose we are going to the Jim Beam suites where it will be decorated and we will have dinner"
"Dang" Alexa said, Sidney smiled proudly
"And this is the day after she arrives?" Stephanie asked
"Yes, she doesn't get in until after 6 on Friday, so Saturday is when everything is happening. I just want to get it over with I'm afraid someone will slip up and tell, and also I'm afraid how I will be with my nerves" he said with a shrug.
"You will be fine" Mario said slapping his shoulder "Madison on the other hand...."
"She is going to cry so hard" Austin said, Sidney smirked
"She is going to be in heaven Sidney, this is great" Lauren said looking at the ring again
"She deserves the world" he said closing the box, he looked at Mario and smiled.
