Heaven Knows

Deal

"Again," Shadows ordered; his voice emotionless and demanding. He was training a new set of demons, the men and women having become like him by selling their souls for whatever their heart desires at that time. The main reason Shadows earned most of his new recruits was many of them had a favorite sin they fed more than the other deadly seven; whether it be pride, greed, gluttony, any of them, everyone had something they wanted to indulge in without the aftermath or guilt. His hazel eyes watched everyone behind his aviator sunglasses, finding himself quickly becoming frustrated and bored with them all. Shadows face scrunched up in disapproval as he watched a blue haired guy tripped while he was doing laps. The buff demon walked over to him and gripped the man's shirt, rolling his eyes when he saw nothing but fear in the blue haired man's jade green eyes.

"You," Shadows barked. "What's your name?"

"Blake," the previously unnamed blue haired guy managed to stammer out.

Shadows lifted Blake off the ground from his shirt, finding it amusing that everyone had stopped what they were doing on the small indoor track to watch. The king of the demons opened his mouth, ready to make an example of the obviously weak recruit, wanting to show what would happen to the weak links in his group when he felt his body being shoved. Blake fell out of his king's grip and Shadows turned his attention to the person who pushed him ready to punish them for what they had done. His stone cold killer gaze turned to the culprit, extremely shocked when he saw it had been Cadence who had pushed him.

"Pick on someone more in your league Shadows," she snapped.

Shadows felt his throat tighten, torn at what to do because of what Cadence had done. He still had feelings for her but he couldn't let her get away with defying him so boldly especially in front of his new subjects. The King's hand quickly wrapped around Cadence throat, tightening just enough so the brunette's attempts to breathe would be a struggle as he carried her off the track, barking orders for everyone to continue training as he dealt with the troublesome human in his grasp.

Cadence could feel herself beginning to lose consciousness when the grip on her throat disappeared and she felt her body fall to the floor. She gasped and choked for air, desperately seeking the much needed oxygen her lungs were currently lacking. She heard movement a few feet away from her, quickly crawling further away from it as she continued regaining her air supply.

"Do you want me to break another body part sugar," Shadows questioned. "Because it seems like you want it."

"Fuck you," Cadence hissed. "You're a disgusting, vile monster and I can't wait to see the day you and the other kings are finally overthrown."

Cadence felt a sharp pain in her jaw, the sound of skin hitting skin echoing in the room moments later. Shadows had slapped the brown eyed girl for what she had said. She looked up at the demon in front of her, jaw clenched tightly as she ignored the throbbing pain. She fought back the involuntary tears of pain that wished to escape her eyes as she stood up and smirked at Shadows, knowing his reaction was because she had upset him with her words.

"What," she laughed mockingly. "You can't handle the truth?"

Shadows' jaw clenched as he stared at the girl he loved from behind his dark tinted aviators. His words had indeed affected him deeply more so because she had said them. He walked in front of, his long legs making the walk a very short one, Shadows cupped Cadence jaw in his hand and tilted her head to look at the cheek he had slapped. His eyes examined her face noticing a bruise was already beginning to form. Shadows leaned forward, ghosting his lips over cheek and down to her neck. Cadence's body tensed as she realized what the demon was doing and pulled away from.

"If you give me the spell I'll stay and be yours," she spoke. "Or I'll just steal the spell again, use it and murder you with whatever knowledge I had before. It's your choice."
