Nothing Else Matters

Two.

He finished his final rep of sit ups and rubbed his now growling stomach he done a few cool down stretches before showering, he poked his head around the wall to see bruce and tony sat on the sofas each reading or writing getiing along with their own side projects, the two often used these projects as a sideline hobby, Clint wasnt so lucky he couldn't focus on any one thing for too long ironic considering he had made his name using his focusing skills, his mind was always ablaze with new ideas or strategies for different things,

"Do you want lunch?"

He called across the room

"No thanks"

they replied almost in sync, the archer shrugged and made his way out on to the busy street, it was almost nice to be annoymous, no one clinging on to him for dear life no one extending endless amounts of gratitude for saving their cat, he strolled along slowly enjoying the cool air on his face savouring every sight sound and smell that happened around him, he turned left in to a small coffee house the smell of freshly roasted beans caressed his lungs and he inhaled deeply almost feeling all the knots dropping out of his muscles he selected a large latte and a cheese salad baguette from the menu and took a small corner booth somewhere he was able to sit and observe the world around him, people watching was one of his favorite past times he liked to imahine what their names were or their backstories for example the man currently being served was a greg his perfectly tailored and pressed grey suit gave away that he worked in finance so did the few shiny flecks of grey hair protruding from the rest of his dark stranfs he clearly had a high paid high stress job but it was worth it for his house maker wife and three kids two girls and boy the boy was his eldest, he drifted away picturing the small details a soft feminine voice snapped him back to reality,

"Can I sit here?"

he glanced up at the woman she was small almost doll like her green eyes locked with his she took a moment to take in every intricate detail of his face the fine lines around his eyes,

"Sure knock yourself out"

she smiled and sat down with a coffee and muffin

"You come in here often?"

She probed

"Nope found it today was just out on a walk and came in i kinda like it, I'm clint by the way"

"Aubrey"

He laughed slightly she smiled back they killed an hour or two with mindless ramblings and general conversation before leaving to go their seperate ways.

she clicked the door to her appartment open only to be greeted with darkness, she sighed loudly and set her purse on the floor and kicked her heels off

"Did you do it?"

his deep voice demanded she scanned the darkness trying to spot him,

"No not yet"

She took a few steps forward to be met with his strong arms the familiar metallic chill from one sending a shiver down her spine he held her close to him breathing slowly for a few seconds before she was thrown against the wall she stood on shaking legs and scrambled to the light switch flicking it on to see a hand coming towards her face it narrowly missed as she ducked down swiping his legs out from beneath him causing him to crash to the floor he grabbed her ankle pulling her down and pinning her by her wrists he sat astride her hips and placed a deep kiss on her lips,

"who do you belong to?"

He growled

"You James"

She replied almost in a whisper

"Even your breath is mine, why are you so incapable of doing as I ask?"

"I was in a coffee shop could hardly pull a knife out"

"you use your imagination! have I taught you nothing?"

He was almost whispering she felt his hot breath dance across her collar bone with every word he spoke the ends of his dark hair skimmed along her skin forcing goosebumps to erupt across her hole body,

"I'm sorry I'll do better next time can we just forget it"

"Forget the plan I have a new idea"

He smirked at her she always knew that meant nothing but trouble he was planning something and that rarely ended well for anyone involved
