Being in a hospital for her first eighteen years, Pheobe Anders is finally allowed to start her life—under one condition: She must go to Gyn, a school where the paranormal learn to be. . well, normal. Or, more normal, that is. The problem is, the school is definitely not normal, but, then, neither is she anymore. Not when it’s obvious from the start that she’s just not going to fit in.
As Pheobe starts to learn all things new, she comes to find that things aren't quite as they seemed and that guarding oneself—something she's never had to learn—is second nature to any being. Be that vamp, were, pixie or otherwise. In a school where everyone seems dead-set against each other and you're not allowed to just pick and choose your friends, she has to find a way to fit in and, ultimately, survive.
