Alex is a drug addicted piece of work. He is constantly looking for a fix of something and anything, and when he can't get anything he freaks out and hurts himself. But somehow he manages to handle it all while being at college and trying to become a science teacher.
Jack is a transgender guy, just trying to deal with the general transphobia and constant misgendering at college while simultaneously giving off a "I really couldn't care less what you think of me" attitude and studying to become a psychologist.
