Prologue
“We’re two different people,” I argued.
He looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language which is totally ironic since he knew a few.
“We’re not on the same page here. I love you, yes. But I don’t believe in a relation that you want us to have,” I let out a frustrated sigh. “We’re just gonna get hurt.”
“But what if I show you, we can?” he muttered.
He looked at me straight in the eyes. “What if I can be there for you even if we’re miles apart? Even if we don’t see each other that often? Please give it a chance. Please, Gabby.”
He cupped my face, running his thumbs over the tops of my cheeks.
“I don’t know Patrick,” I whispered, looking down.
“Just try Gabby,” he kissed my forehead, “for me, please?”
