Dreamcatcher

A myth coming from the Indians always stays on my mind. My deceased grandma’s most cherished words; a blessing and a curse.
‘’My sweet child, always keep a dreamcatcher on the wall above your head while you sleep. It will take your nightmares away, and let your dreams stay pure. Don’t forget our short prayer, and your dreams will never hurt you.’’
Whenever I wake up due to a nightmare, I say the prayer and kiss the dreamcatcher’s feathers, wishing for nothing more than a good night’s sleep.
Only then, I can peacefully sleep. Only then, I am free.
