Hobbledehoy

hobbledehoy

His limbs dangled from his torso as though they were made of Play-Doh and a child had pulled his arms and legs to make them unnaturally long. The reflection in the mirror and the teasing at school made him feel awkward whenever he walked. Puberty had turned him into a gangly giant who wanted to hide his stretched body from his peers, and he took every opportunity to do so.

His only slight comfort was hoping every single day that he would mature into a man with normal proportions. Maybe then the bullying would finally stop.
