Tales of Symphonia Story, Sylvarant Chronicles (1)

QUIZ START:
"No..." you whisper. Luin was...gone; the entire town ruins of wood and ashes. You found Sheena next to the now destroyed fountain. She was hurt extremely badly, crouched on her knees holding her side, a small puddle of blood on the ground around her.
"You!" Genis exclaimed while you all walked over to the fountain, "Now you're even over here?!"
"What happened?" asked Lloyd "You're badly wounded."
"...Oh it's you guys. If you want to finish me off, now is your chance." she told you quietly, "I don't have any strength left to fight..."
"You're badly hurt, Professor, Aura! Please...heal her." Colette asked, you nod your head in response. You took a step forward, when Kratos put his arm in your way,
"...!"
"Yes," Raine agreed, speaking of how Kratos wouldn't let you by, "We will help. But first, I want you to tell me what happened here. It seems she has companions. And this may just be a trap to catch us off guard."
"Professor!" exclaimed Colette,
"Hah! You're as devious as you look." Sheen a told her,
"Call me what you like." the Professor responded,
"Take a look at this city. Everythings in ruin." she explained, "The Desians invaded..."
"What?" asked Lloyd,
"Do you know about the human Ranch, northeast of here?" she asked, "The people of this city had been hiding some folks who escaped from the ranch. The Desians found out about it. And not only was the entire population forced to go to the ranch. But the city was destroyed."
"So... How were you injured?" you ask. Kratos still had his arm across your path, not planning on letting you get by anytime soon.
"Its nothing!" Sheena insisted, she lowered her eyes to her wound, "I was just a little clumsy..."

'Stop me! Help!' a voice called,
"!!"
"Aura?" Kratos asked, noticing your gasp,
"Th...that voice..." you mumble, looking down the pathway into the village.
"Voice?" he questioned.
"Just now...I thought... I thought I heard Clara." everyone stiffened slightly, while Sheena appeared confused by the name. A man, a priest from the House of Salvation, came running down the path. He searched frantically for a way to escape, and upon finding you dashed towards you all desperately,
"Ahhh!!! Help Me! Please!!" he begged. The ground rumbled as a familiar monster stormed after him,
"Thats..." Genis gasped,
"It is Clara. She managed to get all the way here." Raine confirmed. "...Aura was right." Your heart was pounding in your chest, when she yelled,
'Aura!' she screamed towards you as she stalked towards the priest against her will, 'Please! You must kill me...! Stop me--don't let me hurt that man!'
"N-no... No. I won't do it." you argue,
'You have to! Kill Me!'
"No!" you yell and cover your ears so you couldn't hear her, "I won't do it, I won't kill you like I did Marble..." Kratos and Raine turned worried eyes towards you. Everyone else tried to keep their attention on Clara. "Leave me alone...!"
'Stop me!' Clara yelled. Sheena ran in her way, and got her seals ready,
"Stay back you monster!" she ordered, getting in a defensive stance,
"Sheena!" you call desperately, the Mercenary held you back when you tried to go to Sheena to stop her, "No! Don't--!"
'Aura! Just end it!' she yelled at you. Clara knocked Sheena aside with one hard swipe, worsening her already severe wounds,
"Ahhhh!" she fell to her knees, clutching her side, trying to stem the new blood flow as she collapsed to the ground,
"Dammit!!" Lloyd exclaimed. Colette's pink wings sprouted from her back, and she flew to Clara, hovering in your way,
"Clara please, calm down!" the blonde pleaded. Clara then struck Colette, knocking her to the ground.
'I don't want to hurt any more people... I don't want to kill anyone!' Clara cried. She took a step towards you, 'Aura, the only way to stop me is to kill me! Please!'
"No!" you insist, pushing your hands harder over your ears, trying to block out her yelling, you fell to your knees, "There's another way...! There has to be another way! I won't kill another innocent person!"
'There isn't! You must kill me!'
"No...!"
"Aura..." Lloyd asked worriedly.
"Clara must be determined to have Aura kill her..." Raine mumbled Clara took another step towards you, everyone jumped back slightly,
'Kill me! Please! I can't be saved!' Kratos stepped in front of you defensively. Clara stopped, but continue to scream for your help,
"I wont kill you--! I can't...!" you insist. You shook your head, then screamed at her, "Just run, Clara! Get Away! Run!"

Thankfully Clara fled, running over a broken bridge towards a way out of Luin.
"Colette are you okay?" asked Genis, turning to her,
"Y-yes..." she agreed, standing as her wings disappeared. Kratos kneeled down next to you and wrapped one hand carefully around one of your wrists. He gently pulled on your wrist, putting a little space between your hand and your ear.
"Aura," he told you softly, "Clara is gone...She ran away." You slowly open your eyes, pulling your other hand away from your ear slightly. Kratos was right, even with your strangely acute hearing, you could no longer hear Clara's desperate yells. You sigh both relieved, and somewhat sad, and let your hands drop back to your sides,
"...Good..." Kratos stood and offered you a hand, but you pushed yourself up on your own. You both join the others who had gathered around Sheena. After a quick look, the Mercenary knew this was a problem.

"She's lost a lot of blood..." Kratos voiced, his eyes moving to the new wound that had opened when Clara had hit her.
"Your right..." Lloyd agreed,
"Professor, Aura, please heal her." Colette asked. You nod your head, and draw your sword, turning the staff into a handle; but then look back at the Professor,
"I-I can't do it alone... I'm not advanced in healing arts...." you tell her,
"Professor, please!!" Colette pleaded desperately
"...Fine. But I swear, your all way to softhearted for your own good." she agreed. You both combine your healing powers, and soon all of Sheena's wounds were closed, and she was better except for the loss of blood. She stood slowly, staring at you all completely dumbfounded,
"Why...Why did you save me?" she asked.
"Probably for the same reason you saved that man." Lloyd responded,
"...Thanks." a second of awkward quiet followed.

"I...I know its a selfish, unreasonable thing to say at this point but um...I have a favor to ask of you." Sheena said,
"A favor?" asked Lloyd,
"I owe the people of this city. For food and lodging." she explained, "Please, Help me save these people. If you agree, I'll declare a truce with you and help in any way I can."
"....All right." Lloyd agreed.
"Lloyd, are you serious?" Raine demanded,
"I agree with Lloyd" Colette said.
"...Why not?" you add quietly,
"Colette, Aura, not you to!" Raine cried.
"What about you?" Lloyd asked Kratos,
"...I see no problem with it." the Mercenary responded, keeping his usual monotone.
"Ah...um...I'm sorry Raine!" Genis agreed.
"Fine!" Raine finally said "Do as you wish. I suppose if we look at it another way, it does mean we can keep a close eye on her."
"Heh. You'd better watch out so you don't lose your head while your asleep." Sheena joked.

It was almost nightfall, you don't want to stay in Luin, so you make camp outside of town. Everyone is sitting around the campfire, except for you. You sat farther away, with your back to the campfire. It happened again, not only did you hear the true voice of the monster you heard it begging to kill them. You had your knees to your chest, and you were resting your chin on them. The wind blew, blowing your hair and your loose sleeves slightly; it was a little cold, but you didn't mind. You always liked the cold, it never seemed to bother you.
"Aura," you look back and see Kratos walking towards you.
"...Hey." you turn back around and rest your chin on your knees Kratos stood behind you, just barely more towards your left side.
"What happened in town?"
".......it's nothing...." you murmur.
"You covered your ears yelling 'no'... Even a fool would realize that there was something wrong." Kratos responded
"..."
"...Being silent won't make me leave." he informed you quietly,
"I-...I just..." you say, "I...just want it to stop...!" confusion crossed his expression as he took a seat next to you,
"...Stop?" he asked. You hadn't told anyone what had been going on, of course he was confused.
"I don't want to be able to hear the true voices of the monsters anymore..." you whimper, "I hate it...the only thing they say is that they want me to--..." you stop suddenly. You didn't want to say it, you didn't want to say what they wanted you to do. Realizing that you weren't going to finish your sentence, Kratos filled in the end,
"...They want you to kill them...Like Marble..."
"...Yes..." you murmur sadly, "...I-...I don't want to do that again..."
"Perhaps..." he started, "Perhaps...some good can come from being able to hear their voices..."
"Like what...?" you ask, looking towards him,
"Well..." he trailed off momentarily. You could tell he had said that to try and cheer you up...now he had to back up what he said "...If it wasn't for you....we may have killed Clara long ago, without realizing the consequences of our actions." your expression softened slightly.
"...yeah...I guess...." you agree quietly,

Later that night you were again the last one up. When you notice,
"Colette, you're still up?" you ask her. She was staring up at the night sky, and looked over at you after hearing her name.
"Huh...? Oh...um...I'll go to sleep in a second. Okay?" she asked
"...Alright..." *She's acting so weird...lately.* you think.
