Tales of Symphonia Story, Sylvarant Chronicles (1)

QUIZ START: You wake up the next morning in no pain at all, all ready to go. However, you were the first one up, meaning you had to wait; however you didn't have a real problem with it. Deciding it wouldn't hurt to try; you walk in large circles around the lobby. A few places on the small of your back tingled uncomfortably for a moment, but it soon died away as what was left of the wound grew used to stretching and giving slightly as you walked. Once everyone had woken up, about thirty minutes after you, you walk with Raine back into your room. After removing your shirt, she removed your bandages and examined your back again,
"Hm...Mm-hmm." she mumbled, nodding approvingly as she looked over the healing wound on your back "This is very good."
"Hm?" you turn your head back towards her, confused,
"Your back is healing nicely. As long as nothing major happens, it should be healed fully in no time."
"Good." you sigh gratefully. Raine rewrapped your back once again and you pulled your shirt back on. You stood, and followed her out, then you all set out from Hima, now headed for the Tower of Mana.

The day was relatively calm, until noon. A small band of four large wolves attacked your group in hope of you becoming their meal. You stayed somewhat away from the battle, thinking of the wound you already had. However suddenly Lloyd called,
"A-Aura! Look Out!"
"-?" you turn back just in time to see a large wolf jump towards you, however you didn't have enough time to get out of the way.

Suddenly Kratos dashed to you, he put an arm around you waist, pulling you close to him while calling
"Guardian!!" A large green orb of mana surrounded both of you; the wolfs attack bounced off and it harmlessly. Kratos quickly released you and delt the wolf a blow to the chest when it lunged at him again. Two claws left a shallow cut on his forearm. Shaking off your shock, you murmur a spell and call,
"First Aid." a small green, glowing ball flies from your hand to Kratos. The wound on his arm closed.

Soon all of the wolves were dead, or they'd run away when they realized that you weren't going to be an easy kill. Colette and Genis quickly ran to you,
"You almost got hurt!" Genis exclaimed,
"Are you okay?" Colette added,
"What happened?" the little elf continued,
"I-I'm fine! I'm fine" you insist, smiling weakly, "I'm fine...please, stop worrying."

After everyone had calmed, you began moving again. While walking you noticed that Kratos was staying near the back, you slow down and walk next to him. You two walked next to each other in silence for a little while as you walked. After a little while of silence you looked at him, however he kept his eyes on the path. After a moment see his eyes move to you, then back to the path in front of him. You say,
"Um...Thank you." he turned his head towards you, somewhat confused, "Thank you...for saving me. If I had got hit, my back might have re-opened. Or maybe worse."
"It's my job to protect the Chosen and her friends." the Mercenary responded. The fact that he said it was his Job to protect you made something tingle unhappily in your heart. You look back to the path in front of you,
"Oh...I see..." he seemed confused y your reaction. But then he realized what he said,
"No, I didn't mean--" he started when Lloyd called
"Hey! Look! I can see the mountains! Kratos, Aura, c'mon!"
"Come on, let's go."
"Ah-- Aura, wa--" Kratos started again, but stopped when you dashed off ahead to meet up with Lloyd. He put a hand on the side of his face as he walked, slowing his pace slightly; he sighed while closing his eyes. *Why did I say it like? Now Aura thinks I just saved her because it was my job...That was a foolish thing to say.* he shook his head slightly, lowering his hand to his side again. *...I need to talk to her.* he decided, picking his pace back up, and catching up to the group.
